  1. He has a point though - if you were to arrange the clubs as you suggest we would be relegated. I believe we have the second biggest debt burden in this division. addendum... The 3 sides to go down purely on finances would be Charlton, Southampton and Sheffield Wednesday. Two out of three ain't bad. http://mag.talksport.net/1R496782495aad0012.cde Seriously you can't discount finances and blame it all on Lowe and his dodgy Dutch experiment. addendum 2 Whoops missed Derby! We'd still be relegated but Charlton would escape by the skin on their teeth.
  2. If hypothetically Saints did cease to be I guess I don't think I could ever 'support' another team in the same way I do Southampton. I wouldn't lose interest in football though so I guess I'd just have to go and watch my local team - Arsenal. If you factor in travel it would cost me far less for an Arsenal season ticket than it would a Saints one. However if AFC Southampton did rise from the ashes I'd support them - although admittedly I'm less likely to fork out for travel down to watch us play Hythe & Dibden in the Wessex league so it might be supporting from afar for a while!
  3. Good luck Stu, Although in principle I don't agree with the idea of a wholesale boycott I think this kind of demonstration is exactly what's needed to demonstrate just what the fans think. Paying customers walking out is a far better way to illustrate just how dissatified we are than a boycott which could be dismissed as "well they probably wouldn't be coming to the match anyway". I hope you get the numbers that your effort and intention warrant. Lowe out.
  4. I wish. The only person in my office who even cares about Saints is a Charlton fan (aside from me of course!). The only fans I know who think we're a laughing stock are some Donny fans who ****ed themselves laughing at the fans fighting amongst themselves. Let's face it - we're not a Leeds spectaculary exploding in the public eye we're just quietly destroying ourselves with infighting over arguments nobody else understands.
  5. Just a thought - if the idea gets significant support from season ticket holders wouldn't it be more of a spectacle, and harder to ignore, if they actually entered the stadium but then walked out en masse as soon as the game started? It would definitely make a very strong statement - and draw the attention of the nationals - if half the Northam just walked out with the cameras on them.
  6. Good job we got rid of Burley isn't it
  7. Would suggesting he star in a snuff video be in bad taste?
  8. You can blame Lowe for us being in the Championship, but not for us being in the relegation places last season. That was down to a combination of Wilde and Crouch (and the Alpines of this world with their 'anyone can do better than Burley' rants ). You can blame Lowe for us being in the relegation places this season though. We need shot of Lowe, Wilde and Crouch to heal the rifts in this clubs, but this debate has been done to death.
  9. I was waiting for the first anti-Wotte diatribe based on his comments on the Championship. He does have a point though - we were hardly fighting for a play off place without Lowe last year, well not after certain posters got what they wanted and Burley left any way. People's memories are terribly selective. Wotte's only been here 6 months and can't be expected to know why Lowe is so unpopular - or just how much his comments would turn certain fans against him. Lowe has to go, but don't let us kid ourselves that his departure would solve all our problems. In terms of the highlights I'd rather less fans views and more football. After all I can get the fans views on here.
  10. Or the next Pearson - remember he took 4 draws before the first win (with 2 defeats and a draw before his second).
  11. Amazed and pleased with the result. When I left work we had just gone 2-1 down with 10 men and I thought it was all over. I emerged from the tube to hear the result and let out a woop of delight that drew odd looks from the swarms of Arsenal fans. 2-2 is a good result against Swansea, unfortunately we need excellent results if we're to avoid relegation. Assuming Rudi's on his way is Surman our best choice for left back now? Or give Mills another run?
  12. But out ot 600 thousand odd random breath tests a year about 100 thousand are positive. So with 1 in 6 road users drunk but only 1 in 10 accidents caused by drunk people it still works out that driving drunk is marginally safer than driving sober Statistics are all ****** really.

Who was actually behind most of the Poortvliet signiings who knows?
  14. Saints take the lead early in the first half (McGoldrick shinning in a lucky deflection), Swansea equalize just before half time with a dubious penalty. Half time is marked by chants against Lowe and the board which turns nasty as the second half kicks off as the 'support the team during play' vs 'protest at all costs' factions get shirty. Swansea fans **** themselves laughing at us and a distracted Saints squad concede a soft goal to a set piece. Match is delayed as the fighting spills over on to the pitch. Media rub their hands in glee and Saints fans are a national laughing stock Alternatively we don't fight amongst ourselves and support the team to a hard fought 2-1 victory against one of the Championship's form sides. Uniting after the final whistle in a mass sit in protest against Lowe and Wilde's stewardship and win plaudits from the national press and the respect of our peers. The choice is there.
  15. Skacel's the better player but his attitude has always been questionable. Throw in the financial situation and he becomes a liability we can't afford. So reluctantly Molyneaux
  16. Since it's apparent that he and Jan were barely on speaking terms I think to label them a mangement team is stretching a point. It may have been the intention that they work together closely but it's readily apparent that this did not happen. However troll baiting aside I don't believe he can keep us up. I'm not sure that any of the availbale candidates could have done - the change needed to be made before Christmas. Wotte has my support until the end of the season, after all he can hardly drag us further into the mire unlike Dodd and Gorman last year. Who knows he might even catch some luck like Pearson did last year and keep us up on the final day. The real problem remains Lowe, any manager he appoints will not have the support of all the fans.
  17. I like the way some people are trying to associate Wotte with Poortvliet's failure - and thus write him off before he's had a chance - when all the evidence seems to be that they really didn't get on and barely spoke.
  18. No he was a 'failed' manager who had relegated Coventry after a record number of years in the Premiership and had looked like he was going to take them down to the 3rd tier when they dismissed him. Seriously do you ever subtract your head from your own arse? Support the status quo? I want the three stooges out and I've been saying Poortvliet was out of his depth for months (although unlike you I was initially willing to give him a chance). gah I can't believe I'm rising to this troll!!!
  19. Support for Lowe? You must be joking. Support for the new head coach? He's just had a better start than Gordon Strachan did (drawing at home to Ipswich) - are you saying we should have turned against Strachan then? Or maybe we should have turned against WGS after he lost the next match to Everton? Wotte has my support for the moment. Support for Southampton? Always, irrespective of chairman, managers or results. Unlike you Alps I'm actually a fan rather than a sneering outsider.
  20. Non-League Exeter playing in the League cup? How very strange... I've no idea who Marek's Aalborg goals were against (apart from the one against Villarreal), or if any of them were penalties. But whichever way you look at it Saga is hardly the in form automatic choice goal machine people are trying to make him out to be. Wotte did everything that could be reasonably expected. People seem to forget that Pearson only scrapped a draw away against soon to be relegated S****horpe through a debatable penalty in his first match - and yet he was the messiah according to some on here.
  21. FFS some people on here need to get a grip. Some basic facts: A draw away from home is a good result, not a great result but a good one. Our away form has been pretty good - better than any of our rivals - so on paper why change the tactics for the away games when it's home games we're suffering in. When these tactics didn't work Wotte changed things around and we came back into the game. Marek had scored 1 in 2, McGoldrick 2 in 4 (Man Ure aside). Not that much between them on form. This season Marek before today had scored 4 in 15 while McG had 9 in 32 - practically identical, in fact slighty favouring David. Whilst I agree Saga should have started it's not nearly as clear cut as people are trying to make out. Please get a sense of perspective! We need to turn around our home games, it's going to be easier to do that if we're supporting the team rather than calling for the manager's head.
  22. Forgive me for wanting to support the club but shouldn't we give Wotte at least a game before we start threads about how terrible he is? Your messiah Pearson took (I think) 6 games to get a win - then promptly lost the next match five nil. FFS some people on here need to crawl out of there own arsesholes and start supporting the club rather than attacking it at every opportunity.
  23. What Dennis wrote was basically true. Never mind the reasons people are staying away there can be no doubt that if we did have 30,000 fans packing the stands each week we wouldn't be in the state we are now. You can't even blame Lowe (for the low attendances) - if the extra fans had turned out while he was gone we wouldn't have been in financial freefall, Crouch's position wouldn't have been undermined and Lowe wouldn't have been able to return. But by all means boycott the Express - it's a ****e paper.
  24. Lowe is a minority shareholder - you could take effective control of the club without even talking to him - so I don't put much credence in the "my Dad offered to by the club but Lowe said no" rumours. He may hold proxies for more shares than his own but he doesn't have the say so on whether they're sold or not.
