Football structure changes July 2019 (lots of them!)

Didn't the manager want a fitness coach? What happened to him (or her)? Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk -
Personally think he's got a lot to offer us, but wouldn't be surprised if Hasenhuttl didn't view him as essential - he's barely been available in all the time the manager's been here. Has to be replaced if sold, though. Our midfield stocks aren't deep with quality. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Amazing to think we've cleared £30m with Targett and Chambers, two guys who belong in the Championship. Even when our Academy is off its game, as it has been for quite a while, it still brings in a few quid along the way. Good luck to Targett. Nice kid, handy left peg. If he could run he'd be dangerous. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Would be a good move for the kid. He'll easily displace Neil Taylor, who is absolute mince. I've got a vague recollection Taylor was one of our rumoured targets to replace Shaw way back when. Safe to say we got that one right by plumping for Bertrand instead. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Are we back for pre season training next week? Looks like we'll only have one new signing (who won't even be there for another month) by then. It's not exactly panic stations yet, and not uncommon for us to drag out the transfer window, but I thought the manager was extremely keen to have his new squad settled early doors so he could integrate everyone into the regime asap. Still - at least - a striker, CB and RB shy of the bare minimum business we need to do. Although Hasenhuttl said he wanted five in that recent interview - which position the fifth target fills is anyone's guess. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

They'll have much more to spend once Maxi Gomez is sold. I reckon we could possibly squeeze around £12m out of them. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Finally ascended to the Sammy Lee role as chief cone putter outer. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

He made the same post, give or take, about us having an offer accepted, a week ago. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Aidy Boothroyd has no business even been employed in football, let alone taking charge of England's youth. In the previous game he made the most mental substitutions I've ever seen. 1-0 up, but down to 10 men, he took off both wingers and replaced then with two centre forwards. And then played them out of position on the wing, where their lack of positional know how left their full backs exposed. Unsurprisingly, this insane approach to game management ended in inevitable defeat. He than inexplicably hung Wan-Bissaka out to dry in public after the game, suggesting that his unfortunate late own goal was somehow because his head had been turned by transfer speculation. A stupid person might think the manager of an age group team's job is to create a supportive, nurturing environment where players feel freed up to express themselves, but not this clown. He's throwing them under the bus like he's Mourinho. And then today, in a must win game, he drops the most coveted right back in the Premier League for Everton's third choice full back, drops Foden - their goalscorer and best player in the previous game - and continues to leave 26 goal Abraham on the bench, until 20 minutes from the end, during which time he scored once, hit the bar and forced a great save. I've no idea how this chancer has failed upwards into such a plum job. But now uncle Les Reed is his boss, I expect he's here to stay. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Like not picking him at all for the first game - which they lost... Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

He doesn't. Danish fans I was speaking to were incensed before the game that the manager didn't think he was first choice right back, and that he'd never played left back ever before. He's a RB/RWB/RM. No idea if we're still interested in signing him, but I'm pretty certain we're not looking at a guy who has filled in at left back once to replace our starting left back. Maehle has scored twice for Denmark u21s today... Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Unless there's a replacement lined up, it makes little sense. Even if Bertrand ran his contact down and left for free in two years, having an experienced, very good left back (in a team fighting relegation with an exceptionally weak defence) is worth more to us than £10m or so. Targett isn't remotely close to his quality - and never will be. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Josh Sims played for the u20s in the Toulon tournament recently. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Looks like Rangers have got Joe Aribo on a free from Charlton. We were supposedly linked. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Very good interview. From the man himself: wants a goalkeeper coach (as rumoured), fitness coach, up to five new players, with a focus on speed; and not older than 24. He's also committed to promoting from the Academy. And he's personally getting involved in all of the scouting and recruiting departments. Let's hope the club back him to the hilt - this guy's definitely a real asset. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Hmmm - he didn't want to join bigger clubs in France last season because he wanted to play week in, week out. Can't think he'd therefore come here to sit on the bench. Are we really spending a chunk of our limited budget on a 19 year old keeper to be first choice? Unless Gunn's off (Man City exercised their buy back clause? Home town team Norwich come a-knocking?), that would be a surprising move. All will be revealed, I guess. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

He's shorter than Anthony Martial (5' 11"). And shorter than Daley Blind (5' 10"). And here he is absolutely towering over Jose Mourinho (5' 9")... He's far closer to Ward-Prowse (5' 8") than Rodriguez (6' 1"). Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Never in a million years is he 6' 1". Horizontally, perhaps. In any case, he was (from memory) of not dissimilar stature to Vokins when he played for us. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

He's not tall - he's about Luke Shaw sized. But minus the Happy Meal addiction. Aerially, he's going to have learn to box clever, but that's true of most full backs. They're rarely towering six footers. I imagine adapting to the physical side of first team football will be his first hurdle to overcome. Good touch, very willing worker up and down the line. Wouldn't say his delivery stands out as being above and beyond expectation - Targett's always had a lovely cross on him - but he's a nice looking footballer, comfortable on the ball, gets about the pitch, plenty of hustle. Can't say for certain that he's out and out fast - busy is perhaps a better word. I think he's got a touch of Chilwell about him, from what I've seen. Obviously less developed and not at that level yet, but there's something to work with for sure. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Not winning at home until November. If it comes down to the last three games to stay up, that's not a bad set. Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk

Weren't there some rumours around that we were interested in Phillips at Leeds? A potential younger, less heavy-legged Romeu alternative? Send them Forster in the other direction and it'd be a sweet deal... Sent from my F3311 using Tapatalk
