According to the forecast I've just seen the snow will start falling around 3pm. If it doesn't get called off early for a frozen pitch I fear a late postponement for snow....
-
Indeed. I think the fact that Cardiff don't play next weekend will mean that it'll be a 'development' team for the Millwall game less RL who'll need a game.

It's opening up a bit. Two from Man U, Man C & Liverpool out before the 4th round. -
Coventry 1 - 2 Saints - Post Match Reaction
ludgershallsaint replied to Saint_clark's topic in The Saints
As far as I'm aware it is Tuesday 31st. Mind you if we end up playing our 4th round game on the Sunday it would be moved to 1 Feb. -
No. Greer sent off and we have 12 days to regroup.
-
The most worrying aspect is the capitulation after RL got sent off. Players get sent off but it seems as though the rest of them have chucked the towel and most tellingly of all most of us expected it too. At least there is 12 days to try and sort things out. Scratch side at Coventry.

Looks like the wheels are coming off now. The results over the last few games can't be ignored. Hopefully we'll come out of the other side of this. The 10 that we have out on the pitch at the moment clearly demonstrates that we need some new faces in to turn around our declining form.

Need to get back in to our stride. Win the next two and the chances are we'll be 3 ahead going in to the transfer window. -

Looked like Guly was more concerned with self preservation than anything else. -
Worked out well for the team's perspective. One day less to prepare but it is the same for Bristol. Gives us an advantage for the game on 2 Jan

what has happened to Jason Puncheon...?
ludgershallsaint replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
If he comes back NA is going to have to give him another chance. You can't leave any asset lying around losing value. Come January they're going to need each other! -
3pm Saturday (H) - looking forward to it?

Might be an FA Cup game in January. -
It was tacked on the back of the latest Palace ticket news that they go on sale at 9am Friday

Newcastle are trying to bring in young cheap foreigners. 5 Mil for a 30 year old who has played zero games at that level - can't see it.

I do recall that the weather then was atrocious; nearly every other game in the country was off. I lived in Andover at the time and it was very, very dicey getting there.

Carling Cup 2nd Round - Bristol City / Swindon Away

Presume seeding was based on finishing positions last season and they used Bristol City's position? -
QPR make Saints an offer for Puncheon (Player Exchange)
ludgershallsaint replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Sorry. I didn't make myself clear in the earlier post. Towards the end of his playing career he played for Crystal Palace and Sheffield Utd teams who got promoted to the PL but didn't figure for them once promoted. I was fully aware of his earlier playing career -

I seem to remember Neil Shipperly getting a few teams promoted but not figuring in the PL -
Somewhere between 10th and 6th. Depends who comes in; using Millwall as an example I think we should be aiming to at least equal the performance of last year's play off winners.

I think we all know it has do with the intrigue around the fact that simultaneously we sold his previous club a player and the manager of that club happened to be his father. Add in the fact that he was already well travelled (including some clubs where his father was the manager previously), had a very thin appearance record and that he was given a year extension despite never playing (presumably both the player and club had the right to enforce the final year) you have the answer. This bloke has spent more time on the pitch at St Marys in a Stoke shirt despite being here for 3 years and only ever having made 2 appearances for Stoke! I think we have all been half expecting for the last 3 years for some minor scandal to break regarding this deal. It doesn't look like it will now but possibly one day?

Inflation busting season ticket price increases!

One win from two games. Huddersfield are an irrelevance. We have to play two teams who will need wins. We struggle when teams park the bus and neither Plymouth or Walsall can afford to do that
-
Nope. 6 points in front with Plymouth having two more games and a very similar goal difference
