We have a player (and major asset) who doesn’t want to be here and is causing issues with his attitude.... they certainly are in a position to negotiate.
-
We were right not to sell VvD in the summer (although I would have to anyone but Liverpool). However, our hand was significantly weakened when Holland failed to qualify for the WC. VvD can now go through the motions, not play, do whatever he likes pretty much - His agent will find him a club and a healthy pay rise, regardless. Get rid (again, to anyone but Liverpool - teach them a lesson, they can't bully us) early in the window and bring in 2 or 3 quality replacements, whilst also dipping into our own pockets for another 1 or 2.
-
Pretty much the only reason Pellegrino got the job was because he was the only option left. Les panicked when palace showed an interest in Pellegrino and wanted to get him before he was left with no other option than De Boer (who he ruled out the season before). Tuchel was Les' no1 choice, he had talks, he turned us down. We spend all our time and effort getting him (thus, rightly or wrongly, letting Silva, who also had talks, go to Watford). Don't buy the PR nonsense that we have a list of potential managers and that MP topped that (like Puel before him, who was behind Emery and probably a few other), he wasn't our first choice.

3 points above the relegation zone... we are very much in a relegation scrap atm. As are everyone (probably except Burnley and I expect Everton to pull away) outside the traditional top 6. Get your head out of the sand.
-
11. Let ourselves drop down, so we can finally see the best from JWP.
-
8. Rule out experienced, been there and done it, managers such as Allardyce (because we are way to good for dinosaurs like him him). Go for someone unknown, cheap, young and hungry (and therefore guaranteed to improve). The last thing we want is for someone with a bit of personality to come in and give these over hyped egos a kick in the backside. Go for a nice guy instead, someone like Adkins perhaps?

At this exact moment in time, I’d say only Swansea are worse than us. Imo, We are on par with Newcastle, stoke, WBA, Bmouth, Huddersfield and Brighton. I don’t think Palace and West Ham will get dragged back into it, both have good players playing for the manager (we have good players, just most that don’t want to be here / play for the current man in charge).
-
We also lost to Hull. You can’t get more bottom 3 than that.
-
Suggestions like giggs are what happen when you limit your shortlist to only unemployed managers. Les has blagged his way to the top, with a bit of luck along the way, and has since been sussed out. Time for a big clear out (management, players, directors). Let’s hope Mr Gao can get the right man in to over see things.... Mitchell back please.

As did half the league

Bertrand is a better player, well done for pointing that out. Cedric is no means great going forward, but he is probably on par with Clyne, who you’d have every day of the week. He offers us pace and width down the right hand side, which we currently lack. He works hard, continually offering an overlap, and is generally solid defensively. As someone else has said, if we were to sell, he’d have many suitors. Who would you have ahead of him from our squad and who would you bring in to replace him then?
-
Nope. Your question was: I told you what he is good at. Don’t try and backtrack now you’ve been proven to look an idiot.
-
That costs money, so probably not. Ironically, it has cost us more to appoint and sack 2 pretty average managers, than what it would have to just give Koeman the pay rise he wanted (and at the time) deserved...... well played les, well played
-
The game isn’t played with stats though, isit you Fool. But anyway, let’s compare to the man he replaced: Tackle success % (pretty important as a FB, is it not): Clyne - 71% Cedric - 75% He may not be the best in the final 3rd, but of all the players to pick on, Cedric isn’t one of them. Now back in your cave you clown.
-
Did the players pick MP then? That’s the issue, poor management selection.
-
VvD, on of the leagues best CB’s has been at fault for goals in his career. What’s your point. Stop talking utter nonsense, like claiming Adkins is a better manager than BFS. I can’t work out if you’re a WUM or just completely ****ing clueless.

Has Puels Leicester team scored more at St Mary’s than his saints team in 2017??
-
state the obvious post of the day

The only man capable of overturning this terrible season..... Nigel Adkins
-
Lost that title when we sold Clasie, I’m afraid.
-
Defending, which as a RB he’s paid for. Next.
-
The club were right to sack Puel, but wrong to appoint MP. They thought they could get Tuchel, didn’t and we’ve been left with not much choice. Sorry but big clear out needed after tonight. Les leading them.
-
No no no, Nigel Adkins is the man.
-
In fairness you'd have just about anyone and seem to get overexcited by every link that is put on here. That being said, Giroud would be an amazing signing and an upgrade on Austin. Unfortunately it won't happen though, more likely to go to Everton, which will make them a very good side, if you ask me.

At the end of the day 3/4th choice at us is about right for his ability at the moment and the best he can hope for if he wants PL football (which I suspect he knows, given the OP has suggested he'd be happy to take a step down). If we were to sell, would any PL teams be in for him? I very much doubt it. In the main, he done very well filling in for VvD last season, but I wouldn't lose to much sleep if he was to leave and I wouldn't blame him for wanting regular first team football.
