Puel has known Black on a personal level for many years so I'm sure he would have had more input than that. In fact, I remember an interview from one of Puel or Black saying they had a conversation back when they were both working in France that if Puel ever came to manage in England, he would love to work with Black. Here it is. I'd give him at least this season. If we get some quality firepower in this January then I think our system will work fine. At the moment we're too toothless to win these important games. Having said that, failure to improve this January will be down to our board and not the manager.

I'm lost for words at this point. I've complained enough over the last 20 games about how toothless we are. There's no point getting going on another rant. It's all too predictable.

We have been noticeably toothless up front this season. Not sure if it's the formation or the lack of personel but we simply don't score enough goals. Pulling back a 2-0 deficit away from home is going to be some ask. Hopefully things will be sorted in January.

Who cares? That's not important in the slightest. This isn't exactly the kind of thing one should be using to be getting one over on a rival. Shame on anybody who does.

Have to be honest does feel fixed but at the end of the day, we've got to beat these teams if we want to win the damn thing. Wouldn't fancy Liverpool in the final anyway.

I mean their league debuts then. Arsenal players all end up injury prone. I don't know what they do to their players at that club but it's unusually high their injury list (all the time)!

I never saw Shearer as a Saints player unfortunately. Out of Bale, Walcott, Lallana, Chamberlain, Shaw and Chambers (those debuts I have seen), I would probably go with Shaw. I remember thinking how comfortable he looked with already the right build to play in the prem. On a side note, anyone else feel Walcott and Chamberlain haven't (and likely will never now) reached even close to their potential? Frustrates me seeing talent like that going to waste.

I question how seriously we took this game when you consider the players that were decided not to start today.
