  1. That's what shin pads are for.
  2. Didn't think we played that well today but fortunately West Ham weren't looking too great either. Dominated the game throughout but still not taking chances and lapses in concentration at the back are costing us big time. Nearly screwed this one up agianst a team we should be finishing above. Hopefully a couple more signing will solve the remaining issues. Should have ran away with it today.
  3. Please please pretty please make the bus service into St. Mary's free for season ticket holders again!
  4. We haven't exactly spent buckets this window. Sign Vietto up permanent. He's a quality player and still very young! I have a fear of loan deals (with option to buy) after the Alderweireld fiasco. Just secure the player before everyone wants their signature.
  5. Or this...
  6. These pundits are nothing more than football fans at the end of the day -their opinions are little more informed than ours. That's why Adkins and Le Tissier support our stance and Jamie Redknapp and Jamie Carragher support Van Dijk's.
  7. Terrible if we're going to sale VVD. Lets him get his own way. The brat beat us.
  8. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/18932/10978801/virgil-van-dijk-certain-to-leave-southampton-this-summer-says-jamie-redknapp Thanks Jamie.
  9. Thank goodness for that!
  10. It's fine. We don't sale and as the proud professional he is he'll knuckle down and work hard for the first team. Great!
  11. https://twitter.com/StokeLoudProud/status/894649641672687616/photo/1 Hmm. Stoke fans speculating whether this is Delph, Gibbs, Townsend, Young or Lemina. They think it's the latter. http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/265377/summer-transfers-rumours?page=322
  12. We musn't let him get his own way. Therefore I don't believe we should sell him.
  13. It will be interesting to see what the clubs response to this will be. Probably silence... He leaves out many details that would portray him as the party in the wrong in this statement. His secret conversations with Liverpool and the fact he signed a 6 year contract less than 12 months ago. I'm not sure what he hopes to achieve with this statement. This whole fiasco was already about as public as it could get so I'm curious what difference he hopes this statement will make. I'm certain our bridges with Liverpool are completely burnt so I guess either Chelsea offers our asking price or he's stuck in the reserves as he's just forfeited his third choice which was to return to the first team.
  14. You want a stadum you can sell-out. Besides, the majority of games last season still had seats in the chapel itchen corner so the capacity is fine to me. We need to be selling out games other than the ones against top 6 and first/last game.
  15. I'd love a stadium expansion, especially looking from an architectural perspective however those figures just go to show that our stadium is the perfect size right now. Give it another decade and our circumstances may justify it.
  16. What p*sses me off is these people actually believe the perception that we all have it easy down here.
  17. I have. I was going to mention it. In my book that's an excellent sign.
  18. I hope he learnt a thing or two from Pogba.
  19. Seems like a Wanyama with better passing range. I'm a fan.
  20. In all honesty, signing 18 year olds goes against what I thought this clubs philosophy was (blocking the path for our own players surely?). Add to that the source is 'The Sunday People', I'm not that excited no. I was always under the impression we were filling our sqaud with academy players with 2-3 signings of proven professionals aged 23-26 in key positions.
  21. Definitely Davis. Our longest serving player now. True professional. Nobody else in our team deserves it more. EDIT: Double checked and technically Ward-Prowse is our longest serving player. I think he needs to gain more experience and maturity to get the captains band though. Also the armband seems to be a kiss of death as far as remaining at Southampton is concerned so I'd rather he didn't.
  22. I feel like I'm watching Sunday league.
