Saints announce Virgin Media as new main club sponsor
The9 replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Our VirginMedia is great, dirt cheap too as the wife works for one of their subcontractors. Though we pay for Sky Sports on top which is usual Sky rates. Decent speed, very few days with poor speed or no service, maybe one or two in 4 years and the online updates are reasonably decent (or were the last time I needed to check a couple of years ago). Quite pleased with this, we needed to get a bigger name in, and they also have free BT Sport on one of their larger packages, which shows the Europa League, so that all ties in nicely. -

Oh. Erm... That's kinda what I heard today. White panel with red logo on it anyway... Would make sense if they sorted the kit before knowing the sponsor of course. -
If they were bothered they wouldn't have sold him.
-
This is alright as well. Still dunno what colour the away is, just that it's "different" and not yellow and blue.
-
I like both of those too.
-
FWIW earlier today I heard the shirt was stripes (phew) with a white panel for the red VirginMedia advert. Which is pretty standard if you're going to a new brand and don't know who your sponsor will be when you order the kit (viz the last Umbro home kit with the flybe panel when their deal got extended). Anyway, let's just be glad it isn't Sunderland's new third kit.

Happens all the time in the lower leagues. Carlton Cole also did exactly that for West Ham a couple of years back. The issue is usually that someone else will sign them and because they're out of contract the player can add a chunk to their wages by including an amount to offset the transfer fee that wasn't paid, rather than just getting a similar deal where they already are, so the player is better off going somewhere else. Especially this summer, with the wage ceiling and expectations being reevaluated.
-
They had a shortlist during the Pochettino situation too, I read some of that thread last week.
-
No. I buy my ST to watch Saints, whatever that looks like. Hardly a surprise that we've lost another key player when we keep overachieving with our recruitment at lower rates.
-
And here's our first weird sideways money move of the summer for a player. Get used to it, it's not just going to be us losing players to teams below them.

That was Fordy, who to be fair only saw the pieces unassembled, and had a lot to do with the fundraising for it. Why the hell they asked someone who'd never worked in metals to put it together in the first place I don't know. Having seen the initial reaction on here, I videoed my then-girlfriend watching the unveiling of the statue online. At the time she only knew there was some kind of controversy about it but not what, but the slack-jawed mouth agape look of utter disbelief and shock on her face was something to behold. The current statue is of course utterly fantastic.

Lots of old or definitely not going to be used Under Armour templates in the past few posts - plus those two concept shirts, which are very nice but not likely to be the actual thing either. The yellow/blue is Maccabi Tel Aviv's 2015/16 kit, unlikely we'll have that, though Under Armour do reuse old templates for away kits sometimes. The navy with gold is a non-existent concept as well, as it's Philadelphia Union, who wear adidas as do all MLS sides. Atlanta United don't even exist as a club until 2017, as a new MLS franchise - see the sentence above above MLS and adidas. The white/green Hanover 96 shirt is years old, they wore Jako last season. The navy one from the soccerjerseys link looks to be about 2-3 yers old judging by the boots in the pic. The earlier Virgin Media kit concepts are sort of ok, don't like the away kit as it's a Skate away colours from 2003 as much as Arsenal, and gold's overused already. Ho hum, still waiting for a leak... or more actual Under Armour 2016/17 releases which are in remarkably short supply. Anyway, the club will still drip-feeding us stuff very soon, that competition to go to Baltimore was for a visit next week, IIRC.

What they don't seem to get for me is that if Koeman's going there it's only because they're potentially hugely overpaying him. Everything else is irrelevant. They could also get an actual top 10 manager for the money they're paying for him.

I'm on p81 already. Just change your view of the site in the settings, that'll skip everyone forward a few days.
-
Lol, Steve probably hasn't noticed, seem to recall we had a bit of a problem with hijacking redirects when the site first started. They've got my fiver already, hence no moaning here.
-
Just claim you're boycotting Rupert Lowe, there are still a few of them around.
-
Decent write that, good angle and reasoned discussion.

Because people are ar5eholes and like other people to pay attention to them. Plus you could probably cut and paste it from Football Manager in a couple of minutes.

Re: Daniel "Danny" Rose, did reasonably well scoring from midfield at Newport when they were in the bottom half of the Conference, left for Fleetwood who were in the process of getting promoted to the League, played 8 games for them then got loaned to Aldershot (probably due to Dean Holdsworth knowing him from Newport), and then Newport got promoted without him the season after. Not the sort of signing they should be making.
-
Probably balls, but I do appreciate the effort they've gone to to mostly match up the European sides on the fixture weekends after the CL/EL matchdays - a lot in line with last season's, when we almost always played a european qualifier the weekend after the european games - which worked out very nicely for us when we missed out on the Group Stages.

28_F, when the original list is spot on and the OP is requesting corrections, there's not much to work with.
-
He's been back up left back for years, somehow recently he seemed to be spending quite a while in the Anderlecht team playing european club matches.
-
Funnily enough one of the first things Katharina did when Cortese effed off was to remove the parking charge for the first half hour or so. Kirk and co were right in principle about getting charged for the privilege of queuing up to spent a grand on the club, they were just entirely disproportionate and comically pictured.

They'd have to go some to return Season Tickets that no-one's even been given yet.
