  1. Interesting theory, I'd be more inclined to think that as the demand is already there it's just as likely that people will decided not to bother at all if they have to wait too long, the thing expires in May 2011 anyway.
  2. If the kits can be back in store quickly it's not much of a problem, but as it is affecting revenues, it is a big mistake if the waits are the length that's being suggested here. I recall West Ham running big adverts that their away kit was "back in stock" in March in our last relegation season which suggests a similar ordering problem with Umbro. Running out at the end of the season is one thing, running out before a ball is kicked with no contingency for more is just poor management.
  3. Decent enough read, good value, could do with more humour and some opinions. Overall, glad I bought it.
  4. I couldn't be less interested. Why is this on the Main Board exactly ?
  5. I'm fairly comfortable in saying the Forum is wholly representative of the impatient, knee-jerk, over-critical, hardcore vociferous element of our fans (mostly under 30s). But that obviously means the Forum is significantly less representative of the quieter, more patient and considered, longer-term support and older "clientelle" of the club - and IIRC when we were in the Premiership we had the oldest fanbase of any club. They're certainly a minority on here.
  6. Surely the secret here is not bothering to subscribe to the Player in the first place, thus not having to be bothered to watch any of the propaganda that goes on it ? I've managed quite well so far without ever watching any Saints content from the website (other than a kit launch video which wasn't subscription).
  7. Almost certainly the case that we'd at least want to leave some "decent" numbers free for new signings. I'm having squad number based fun with my Sunday side at the moment, never commit all the first XI, there's always someone who'll want to "negotiate".
  8. Damn typo-grabber. BEEN asking him...
  9. Because Harding is a left back and Richardson a right back, so that's logical to give them 2 and 3 which are the traditional numbers for those positions. Puncheon is a more attacking midfielder than Schneiderlin, which is reflected by their 10 and 4 numbers. Falling out of the top XI are : 6 to 15 Jaidi 10 to 16 Wotton and 11 to 21 Holmes. Pulis dropping from 21 to 36 makes me smile, except for the Ormerod-battering connotations. Other "promotions" up the list : Schneiderlin 19 to 4 Fonte 12 to 6 Barnard 17 to 9 Martin 39 to 17 Seaborne 35 to 19 McNish 34 to 28. The interesting thing is that the numbers submitted to the FL (at least up til last season) had to be consecutive, so we've got a wodge of number-holes to fill !
  10. As well as being amused that Pulis got bumped practically off the radar, the most interesting quirk I've noted is Oxlade-Chamberlain being given 26. I was "reliably informed" a few weeks ago that unless he had a "1" in his number, his name doesn't fit on the shirt. His old number was 41, so dunno how that's going to work. Rumour also has it that Cortese's been asking for him to drop a surname for convenience !
  11. I'm remarkably underwhelmed. No idea what we'll wear at Notts County, whose home kit is predominantly black (with enough white stripes on the front and bottom of the back for it to be an issue), nice that we'll have the chance to wear white/black/red sometimes, but I mostly like the socks (which just about co-ordinate with the home kit) and other than that... well, it's a very plain, very dull black shadow striped round necked training t-shirt. I'll be buying it though, using the 10% off voucher in the ST of course. I wonder if the away kit will have daft red numbers like the last black one, as they've already put red numbers on the home kit... I suspect we'll launch a sly one-off yellow/blue kit for Notts County actually, revenue streams and all that.
  12. I have decided that my criteria for a worthwhile triv question is "it can't be answered with a current squad member". Bartosz Bialkowski, check. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, check. Tommy 4cast, check. You all smell of wee except the person who came up with the Q question.
  13. You're thinking of players with Oscar-nominated actors in their name, he said numbers. Edit: My apologies, he actually won one for Love Story : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ryan_O'Neal
  14. There will be hundreds of these. Anyone with a "two" sound for a start. Anyone with a "ten"... "Four"... I'll start you with Tommy "Four"cast.

    Away Kit

I am also a Newport County supporter in my spare time, so works well.

    Away Kit

And a very poor rendition of it too. Wiki originally had the yellow "yoke" but also had (incorrect) yellow sleeves, someone has obviously edited it to get rid of the sleeves and removed the yellow shoulder piece as well. Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrubbish.
  17. This thread bites. Half of you can't spell, about a quarter are just stupid and the other quarter are almost certainly drunk. We must have had a McQueen. Or a Quick. As well as Quashie. And a load of Alexes. And a bunch of Poles to cover the Zs. Now if anyone can come up with a Saints player with a Z, X and a Q, I'll be impressed.

    Away Kit

I'd be happy with an Amber and Black kit...

    ticket prices

Hardly difficult to use those figures to make a case for our prices being more expensive. There are only 3 clubs' Match Prices listed, cheapest prices are Bristol Rovers £18 Sheff Weds £19 Saints £24 (or£22 if you get yourself to the TO at your own expense before match day). So of the evidence available, we are £5 more expensive than any other club for match day tickets. I personally don't have a problem with our ticket prices, just the add-ons, but to say it will "take some work" to find a reason to bash Cortese based on that evidence suggests you didn't look at the figures that were presented very hard.
  20. Last season I quite enjoyed being forced to sit in crap stands and random seats for the Carling Cup and early JPT games. This year, due to some ill-will towards our ticket pricing monkeys and the additional hassle of getting the tickets in the first place without paying Cortese Tax (and I won't), I'm in two minds whether to bother going to the additional games or not. Good work, the club...
  21. It is pretty useless. I've logged in to check the data, my data is all fine and up to date. Good good. However, the missus can't log into the data cleanse even to check what's on there, but can still log into her customer account on the ticket site and change all her details there. But using the exact same logon which the data cleanse won't accept, which is also the only data on her the club has ever held. The only conclusion I can draw is that the data cleanse doesn't apply to people added to the db in the last year (I bought the tickets before then) - but even that wouldn't explain why my information was correct as I've moved in the last year. Unless they only have "old" customers on Data Cleanse, but the most recent info. Either way, it's going to lead to loads of people checking it for no reason, and loads of people who CAN'T check it even if they want. We've now changed her information on the Ticket account, but God knows if it links to the full database. It's clearly a big pile of poo as far as accuracy goes, and their data cleansing process is worse.
  22. Nice to see the phrase catching on. I'm so proud.
  23. A lot more sense than asking people they think might have incorrect details on the database to log in using those incorrect details in order to fix them, that's for sure. Especially when, having failed to access your details on the data cleanse db, if you then log into your account normally it shows you the info you tried to use to log into the data cleanse db is right, but doesn't work nevertheless. On the bright side, you can then change all the info on the account directly, which seems the logical way of doing it anyway. Guh.
