Apparently the Saints bench felt that Lukaku fouled Hoedt in the buildup to the goal. He just out-muscled him from what I could see.
-
Booes as VVD warms up. Not sure if they're for him or Fellaini.
-
Fellaini acting like Long just shanked him...Long gets a yellow. Raked him on the achilles by the looks of it.
-
I like him as a defender, but his shooting and crosses are not great. Despite those rumours linking him to Spurs and Chelsea in the summer, I don't really see him as Top 6 material.
-
FF made a decent save from Lukaku 's header but palmed it straight back to him. A little harsh on Saints that, they've looked decent so far.

0-1 Lukaku
-
Commentators confirming that Hoedt is struggling with a knee injury and passed a late fitness test, as mentioned earlier in the match buildup thread.

The new owner's turned up for this game.
-
I think that you have to pay a fiver for that particular feature.

Everton have had a difficult start against some good teams. Still, they have not adequately replaced Lukaku, and they lack pace. The performance that should be sounding the alarm bells for Koeman, is their loss to Atalanta on Thursday. They were embarrassingly poor. I'd love for it to continue but unfortunately with an easy string of games coming up as listed by SKD above, I expect his team to go on a winning streak.
-
Me too. I don't count myself in the anti- Redmond camp but he was poor against Palace particularly in the first half. We'd at least benefit from JWP's dead ball deliveries.
-
What a relief. I am very happy with the performance of both the new boys today. Hoedt looks like a very solid CB to me.
-
It looks like men against boys right now. Atalanta's second was an absolute corker.
-
Yep. If I remember correctly it took Allardyce 5 or 6 games before he got his first win as Palace manager, last season.
-
Bullet dodged if he was in serious consideration to come here, though he might have been better suited to manage Saints than a direct team like Palace. If Roy gets the job are there any decent Icelandic free agents we can bring in for the next game?
-
That's not a fair comparison. The robot clearly has far better reflexes than FF. I'd like to see McCarthy get a start. FF's confidence must be shot and we can all remember what happened to him last time he played at Selhurst Park.

The game's not over yet, but Watford looking the better team. I'd bring on Lemina to help out Romeu in the second half. -

The idea of West Ham qualifying for the Champions League is pretty hilarious as well. -

The war of words following West Ham's possible efforts to recruit Carvalho continue, with Sporting Lisbon's president adding some class to the dispute, by referring to West Ham's owners as "the dildo brothers." That name could stick.
