  1. Almost impossible to predict this time around. Hughes has them playing as a team more and the spirit is back and to be honest, I can even see a couple of players we don't much rate coming good this season. We say, if Austin can stay fit we will be OK. However, we know he wont. So we do need more goals from somewhere. As it stands I don't think we will be in the mire as much as last time around. Remember that was in the main caused by that awful run of 19/20 games without a win. If we can avoid going on a similar run i can see us getting to 42-45 points.
  2. Hughes will not last the season. Man City will win the league, with Liverpool second. The special one will walk away from OT. Everton will flatter to deceive again. Saints will stay up with new manager again and go through another summer of rebuilding in 2019. Perm any from about 10 to go down. Spurs will have a bad season, 6th ish, as Kane will have a hard season being marked out of many games. First manager sacked.... Sari
  3. Teams in the early qualifying rounds of the L, always have a good start to the season though don't they? I seem to recall West Ham getting off to a flyer one year as their game/fitness was ahead of many others as they had been playing competitive games for a few week before the rest of us.
  4. I agree that the FA should be worried but is there anything they can do about it, as surely this comes under employment laws/EU laws. The FA probably cannot block clubs doing it due to free movement etc.
  5. I am rather hopeful he will be our main striker to be honest. I really think he can score that level under a more attacking manager.
  6. I agree we need another striker as we have so few. But I reckon Gabbi will get 12-15 goals playing in a more attacking side under Hughes.
  7. I am not so sure you know. Gabbi is a proven goalscorer at this level and did well with us until we started the foreign style defensive experiments. Under Hughes with a more attacking formation and style of play, he may start banging them in again.
  8. Does anyone think it might make Lemina a better/more regular better player if we made him captain on the pitch? Or is that a crazy mad idea.
  9. Seems they have extended the offer another 24 hours so you may not have missed it mate.
  10. When you see it on paper it looks quite good. But I would go more like this; McCarthy Yoshida - Vestergaard - Bertrand Cedric - Lemina - Armstrong - McQueen Elyounoussi Austin - Gabbi
  11. Isn't this what we did with Portvilet and Wott at the helm?
  12. As others have said already, Crouch will score if he plays. Is it just me, or does he always score against is?
  13. The quality of the premier league is poor now. Aside from the top 6, the rest are there to make up the numbers and from one season to the next a team finishing 7th could go down the following year. How good are we? I would say good enough to be 10th or there about. No way we should be bottom 4 or 5. We have some capable players who are having the game coached out of them by a negative twot of a tacticial and manager.
  14. I have a feeling we might just survive. Then what? Will the board stick with him and marvel at what a great job he did keeping us up?
  15. Could have been worse. We could already be out. C'mon. Enjoy the run.
  16. I have long been a Simms man myself, as awkward as that may sound. I think we should give him a lot more run outs during the crucial last 11 games to stay up. He will be our 21st Century Iain Dowie with his crucial goals here and there.
