  1. Darren Moore. Has quietly gone about business at West Brom with a phenomenal win rate. He could well be one for the future. Or of course he could just fizzle out.
  2. West Brom won again. If we want to take a punt on a Championship manager, I will say it again...try Darren Moore.
  3. Nailed on zero points at Wolves. We are not as bad as many think, but we sure as hell aren't as good as Wolves. Figure it will be a sort of 1-0 or 2-0 maybe 2-1 game. As I have said many times, we will plod along as we are now on about a point a game under Hughes. He is the past and we need to look for an upcoming manager with new ideas. I throw into the ring Mr. Darren Moore at West Brom.
  4. I hear ya. But we have done well with Poch, who was unknown. They have failed twice with P & P. We have to try again, else Hughes will take us down. Or accept a season or two with Big Sam.
  5. As I have said from day one, Hughes will never do the job here. He is clueless in so many ways as was again evident last night. He will be gone before end of the season and likely we will end up with Big Sam. For me, it is time to take a chance on a young upcoming manager from lower leagues or Europe. Hughes is the past and never was great. He can't change a game for the better but always changes it for the worse.
  6. We played a so called second strong side against a second string side. So what can we learn from this? Is our second string better than the team put out against Leicester? Or did we win simply because Brighton played a weakened side?
  7. Actually, that is a very good post sir. Perhaps the successes of recent years have made us all a little too greedy. Leeds, Wednesday, Forest, Ipswich....and many more. I bet they would all love to have been where we have been the last 6 years.
  8. Brilliant.
  9. We will lose at Everton if he starts with three at the back. If he is going to be stubborn and persist with that in light of how it changed when we went 4-4-2 then he needs to go. We looked much better and to be honest if we can start finding the net, which we will, we could be back in the hunt for 8th - 12th spot.
  10. Thanks guys.
  11. I am pretty new to this sort of thing but have been told you can watch the game today live on the internet, but where?
  12. Newcastle 0-1 Spurs Bournemouth 0-0 Cardiff Fulham 1-1 Palace Huddersfield 0-1 Chelsea Watford 1-0 Brighton Wolves 1-1 Everton Liverpool 2-0 West Ham Saints 2-1 Burnley Arsenal 1-2 Man City
  13. Paves the way for McQueen to City then.

  16. To be fair though, there are some potentially very good players in that squad. McCarthy was very good last season and if he hits those heights again we will be fine in the GK spot. Same can be said for right and left back if they both stay fit all season. Not so confident about CB positions but Yoshida is OK for the PL, and I am sure Hoedt is a good player in there somewhere. In Lemina, we have a superb Holding MF if he can be bothered, and in Romeu and POH, more than adequate cover if they play to their best. A bit lacking in creativity although Redmond has undoubted potential and could come good this season for all we know. Sims is a good one and i think could well show that this season if given the chance. Mo Ely is supposed to be hot stuff. Stuart Armstrong looks good so fair, so we could have a pretty good set of creators. Upfront, like CB i fear we are lightweight as really only Gabbi can be relied on to score and stay fit but i don't think he is the man for a lone strikers role. Austin will bang them in for the games he plays which will be 20 or less as ever. Other than that we are a bit stuffed as Long and Gallagher will not do it enough at this level. The potential is there is the manager can get the best out of them, if everyone stays fit and if everyone plays to their best.
  17. In fact with the level of money we spend and income we should really always be around 10th. We punched above our weight for a few years mainly due to luck, in signing great players from nowhere and Cortese over spending. Now we are back to normal service, selling to buy and not really unearthing too many gems, we will struggle to stay up. Sad but true. Not negative, just realistic. We need to find a couple of unearth gems to help us like we did for a few years before.
  18. Like a lot of second or third level managers, Hughes has only one way of playing. He will probably stick with his 3 CB's plan and we will lose 1-2.
  19. As I said a few weeks back, Hughes is not the answer and will not last the season. We will be in a relegation battle for sure. We will have to hope for three teams worse than us again, but this season it is hard to see who those three might be. A lot of people say Cardiff, but they will be a well drilled and hard to beat side as eve with Warnock teams. Huddersfield will have more experience about them this time around. Brighton? Bournemouth? I would say we are likely one of the three worst teams in the PL this season.
  20. Rondon is coming......you heard it here first.
  21. I cannot say i rate them as highly as many do, especially Sky Sports and their love ins. Jose he special one is proving right now he is indeed a cheque book manager. Only now some others have a book as big, if not bigger than his, he is stamping his feet as he cannot win so easily now. Most of them only win as they have the biggest funding. Take away their funding and bring them to Saints and most would fail dramatically. I think psychology has a lot to do with it with the top managers as Jose is showing now. They are fine when it all goes their way, but as soon as the funding purse is shut and the pressure builds after a few bad results, they crumble. Pep, Klopp, Jose, would all struggle at Saints. Poch and Emery would be best for us I think. Sarri I know very little of, but if what I have heard is true in that he builds morale, makes good players better etc, I think he would also do well for us.
  22. I am looking forward to it hugely, and in the main as I have no idea what to expect. Will we be a much better outfit this season or will it be the same as the last few games of last season? It is the hope that makes it so exciting.
  23. The thing is, the defence under Koeman was better than now in part because we had such a great forward line and a lot of pace. We could buy the two best CB's in the world and still concede goals if the forward line is poor. It is thus that I feel we need a really dangerous forward/number 10 to take the heat off the already weakish back line. We have some quite good quality and promising defenders in already, but we are still tragically weak at the back.
  24. Attack is the biggest problem for me. Also, with a better attacking line and supply, we will be able to put teams under more pressure, which in turn will take the heat of our defence.
  25. Would we play someone of that age you think?
