  1. Same as Hull last season , Windass and Barmby. the puriests on here would have kittens if we signed players like that
  2. 2-2 because we will get space in midfield away from home, Plymouth could prove to be more difficult as our system is not suited for taking the game to the opposition
  3. Way it is going, we could share with Eastleigh the Skates with Havant and solve the lack of affordable housing areas over night
  4. Interesting Jonah Problem is no one is likely to pay what the existing shareholders would want for their shares?
  5. After reading Franks post i think i will give up after watching for 47 years because basically we are stuck as we are for ever. Because no one is going to pay 55p a share , assuming that is Lowe/Wilde bottom price. The team will improve , will be sold to finance business, rebuild, sale, rebuld sale.
  6. Wes The problem i see with an Independent Board would be they would always be looking over their shoulders at all the major shareholders waiting for them to "sack" them at an EGM/AGM if they disagreed with decisions. Our problem lies in the split of our shares between relatively few individuals who can group together to gain control as we have seen over the last few years. IMO these shareholders (about 10 people) see the club as their plaything and run us as a private company. Most PLC's do have Independent boards but they also have a diverse shareownership
  7. depends on the weather
  8. all of the above appeared to be funded by the owners , rather than SLH where the owners just take out
  9. went there in the promotion season , i think, some one put a brick through our coach window, bl**dy cold on trip home
  10. Most people could not recognize Guy the Snake.
  11. point is we are compared to Leeds and Man City during their troubles but their owners funded the businesses like many private companies do. We are a PLC when times are hard but were run as a Private Company by basically the same owners we had in 97 plus Lowe and Cowen. People who thought they could make a killing at running a football club by big salaries and dividends. I asked yesterday "Are our Finances the Worst in the CCC" because i am not convinced they are, still a few more home defeats and the company will be BUST
  12. and both had owners who put their hands in their pockets
  13. Rupert needs to worry about the 13000 of us who are the hardcore, because if we go 2 behind against Plymouth on tuesday week, the protests will start within SMS. They were very near the surface on Saturday but Lee Mason's performance and Pearces goal meant there was a common enemy
  14. Sorry but people like to see their team WIN. the only way is down if we keep losing at home, we have played a few cr*p sides already at home this season and lost and not put in the effort. imo the crowd who attend SMS, not those who sit at a keyboard, are the key if we keeping losing they will either vent their anger at Lowe or even worst stop going . the next 2 home games could well be very pivotal in determining the clubs future
  15. NOT sure if you understand what a defenders primary job is , but Gobern does appear to have those qualitities so playing him at left back would ruin him.
  16. your last sentence is the 64000 dollar question , are we the most cash strapped club in the CCC OR is all about one mans vision on how football should be run
  17. what i have been saying about all of them from the beginning of the season. although he is a big lad he has no physical strength so is easy to muscle off ball and his defensive duties were sadly lacking yesterday
  18. explain why you think we can win ? i hope we can win in my heart every week but my head says different
  19. Last sentence sums up our problem at home, imo, we give the impetus to the oppostition , now i wait to be attacked for being negative by some nerd who has not seen a game for years
  20. Sorry disagree anyone who was at the game knows that the fans gave everything in support of the players, the negativity is being generated by the home results , as it would at any club who had a home record like ours.
  21. 55 next birthday and 48 years of support , but not good enough for the originator of this thread.
  22. that was you was it ? i know who you are now
  23. difference between a supporter and a customer ? ask Rupert Lowe
  24. does he have this own window
  25. and at least 20 guys , who i saw outside, from Rodney Trotters stag party heading towards the Chapel
