BUT why do we need this stupid one in the hole system at home, we are just handing the attacking baton to the opponents, playing 2 wide men only will work in the CCC if you have other players in the box to challenge the centre backs, hence other sides get their fullbacks to overlap. Problem is by having 2 wide out of the mid field 5 there is noway the fullbacks will overlap because they will be exposed when we lose the ball. We need to get the pace through the middle to out run the lumps that most CCC teams have at centre back. The problem with all this fantasy/roy of the rovers football talk is that everyone forgets that in the real world the opponents tackle, lean and shove

Nick i am not saying there was another way , we are where we are BUT there is a different way to use what we have got. IMO we are playing the wrong system, we are not playing the best players available now, we are to cautious at home

the way it is going everyone will fit in the Kingsland soon, even the Northam is starting to show gaps every week

i do not always agree with you John but that is a fair summary, in the dreamer/fantasy football world that some of our supporters are living in, the nasty opposition do not tackle or block or try and win they just sit back and let us play.

totally agree i posted a very similar message on the post match thread. we hand the front foot to the opposition in home games by playing 4-5-1 and by dragging every one back at corners, even midgets like Thompson, leave 2 up front and immediately they will leave 3 back , there were times yesterday when 21 players were in our half at their corners. We have pace but by playing it wide in the CCC , THE big lumps that teams have at centre half just wait for the cross and clear it , with 4-4-2 we would have the ability to stretch these "puddings" whereas at the moment our 1 forward may beat one but not both. Surman and Lallana showed yesterday an ability to run with the ball but they are starting so deep that they just run out of steam.
