Well clearly he assisted in Armstrong's first at Fulham and his goal versus United, so yes - thats two pieces of play that led to goals in our last two games.
-
Well that confirms you know **** all!

Flores is very meh. Doesn't stick around anywhere for long and his best jobs were years ago.
-
I thought he would go after today had we been poor and lost but Im not sure he will go soon now. Whilst results are poor, performances aren't *that* bad. Its pretty clear Hughes isnt doing superbly, but also that the squad has clear weaknesses.
-
Hughes clearly will stay until at least the Cardiff game now. Good performances at Fulham and today. Its clear what the biggest problem is, and any manager will have to work with a poor pool of centre backs.

Excellent today, and at Fulham. Must be very strong mentally to bounce back from last season. Has been our best player this season IMO, and is starting to fulfil the potential he has. Would be good to see him in a confident side at some stage... Should be looking to extend his contract, if he is vaguely interested.
-
So 3 CBs again. Hughes' single worst attribute is the inability to stick with one formation and let the players get familar with it.
-
Any opinion on the topic?

Enzo Robise is the one to keep an eye out for.

What do we think for Saturday? A.) We were just a bit leggy from Tuesday night and gave them too much space. But I am seeing good signs that we will get the points we deserve soon. B.) We are conceding goals a bit too readily at the moment. But I am seeing good signs that we will get the points we deserve soon. C.) We just haven't quite got that confidence in front of goal at the moment. But I am seeing good signs that we will get the points we deserve soon.

Hoedt and Austin are the only genuinely unlikeable ones. A few mention Cedric but IMO he always gives his best and hasn't ever come out in public trying to leave despite probably wanting to.

Paolo Sousa according to The Times. Hand picked by Gao.

1. With players still playing for Hughes i.e no lack of effort per se, what is to be gained by having a caretaker Manager like Kelvis? That might cause players to down tools and wait for the new guy. 2. Is there much advantage in getting a new guy ahead of two games we would likely lose anyway? Surely that just negates any bounce effect and puts the new guy on the back foot to start with?
-
I would say there is a 90% + chance of Hughes having at least the Utd and Spurs games.
-
Pwrsonally don't see why a Caretaker woukd be required. Just keep Hughes until someone is lined up to takeover.

Do any of the first team players give a d@*n?
Dusic replied to SFKA South Woodford's topic in The Saints
Was at Fulham on Saturday and clearly they do care, yes. Players like Lemina and Redmond in particular gave absolutely everything. -
Moyes is far worse than Allardyce IMO. At one of them gets results. Moyes is awful. That said, the next appointment will show a huge amount about the direction the club is going. If its one of the old has-beens, Moyes, Allardyce or a poor Manager like Monk then we may as well give up.
-
Austin is an absolute jerk anyway.
-
Best bit is the reference to being hesistant to fire him because of giving him a three year contract. Walking in a Gao wonderland.
-
Sadly another poor Wilson signing who will probably have to be loaned out at cost after flopping in the PL. His appearance yesterday showed what somehow our scouts missed in the 7 years they tracked him: He is too slow (in the head and pace wise) to be an effective PL attacker. Our scouting team seems to have a weakness of getting the right physical types - countless slow CBs, 60 minute Clasie, Boufal, Gabbi, Carillo etc - all either too weak or too slow for the PL.
-
Austin today - worst striker performance that I have ever seen in a live Saints game. Effort non-existent. An absolute disgrace. Why some Sainta fans love him is beyond me. He has been a terrible signing on big wages.
-
On way back from the game which, result aside, was at least an interesting watch - rare for Saints. Ultimately we ****ed it up as played ok at times considering we only had 10 men. I have taken stick on here for being anti Austin, but actually I was just right. He is finished at PL level and the contrast of him and Mitrovic today probably decided the game. Mitrovic bullied our defenders, especially Yoshida who was poor. Austin didn't even move. We cannot defend, make too many basic errors and lack leaders. The fact that Obafemi was being pushed around at the end and only Redmond rushed over to assist is telling. The only players to emerge with any credit were Redmond (best player on the pitch), Armstrong and Lemina - these guys gave everything today. Generally we did ok with the ball, but there doesn't look to be any plan from Hughes and ultimately he is picking a team which just doesn't know how to win games. Hughes out - whilst there is still a (very slim) chance of not being relegated.
-
If he got sacked without an immediate replacement then it would be yet another cluster****. We can't waste any games.
