From a quick google Valencia are keen but he wants to stay at Genk til end of the season.
-
Would be absolute astonished if anyone signs Forster permanently in this window.
-
New deal an absolute no brainer for Saints - protects his increasing value and ties him down for longer. In todays market and if he continues his form then he is worth over £30m easily. He has earned it with his performances and few players ever turn around a situation once it goes sour at a club so fair play to him. Personally for him, its a bit tougher IMO. He presumably likes working with RH and can see he is improving and so are the team. With RH in charge it could be a good next 18 months or so. Flip side - I don't think he will ever forgive the section of fans that went too far in their abuse of him, and he might think he has restored and then improved his reputation by the end of the season and might be keen to take a next step. Player of the Season so far by an absolute country mile. Hopefully he continues his form, wins that award and signs a new deal.

Priority one surely is an attacking player to provide competition with Armstrong and Redmond.
-
Redmond surely will be rested. Has played almost every game and is so crucial.
-
Interesting it says we are looking to buy British players - sensible.
-
Mepham is a good, young CB and has good experience in a competitive league for a 21yo. Both Bournemouth and Leicester tried to get him in the summer. Perhaps a sign of the change of direction in transfer policy?
-
He is good in a back 3, less so in a four. Composed and calm alongside more aggressive players. Was very good today, as were all the defenders.
-
Agree. Wans't his best game but was key in our counter attacking in the first half that they couldn't really deal with. Brilliant defending 2nd half, all 5 defenders and Romeu excellent in particular. Redmond (first half) showed he is maturing into one of the best PL players outside the top 6 in his position. Big win - need at least 4 pts from the two home games now. (Bench showed we do need attacking reinforcements in the window).

Maybe someone will just be unlucky and be left out of the squad even though they are still at the club. No reason why that cannot happen. For next season it certainly shows that we need to make decisions on some players who would need to be included but are not really first teamers i.e Hesketh, Barnes, Sims etc

Paid over 3 years, according to Di Marzio. Which is pretty much like any deal. Thats what makes it so complicated to sell players. We likely haven't finished paying for the fees of Hoedt, Boufal, Carillo etc.

Bans in consecutive years for brainless off the ball incidents, both times during a spell that he would have been vaguely useful. This incident was just moronic - of course you will get a ban in this day and age. Unprofessional player. Poor signing on big money, nowhere near fit enough for PL football. Manager basically saying today that he isn't suited to the pressing game and he only really considers him a sub option. At least he should be gone in the summer, and we won't miss him at all.

I have setup a new league in this prediction site. The game is free, very easy, takes about 30 seconds a week to play. Essentially you pick a PL team you think will win during that gameweek. You have 3 lives but can only pick each team once. Winner is the last person standing. The site are doing a promotion whereby if 5 new players join they will put up a prize of £20 plus an additional £2 for each new player on top of that, up to £50. Should be possible to get a decent prize pool to make it worthwhile. Join here if interested: https://killer.football/join-league/E6tLD4pZBaWyK7ttD

Edwards signed up on red ball contract - no brainer. Is batting good enough? Assume will target a batting overseas?

Lots of good posters* no longer post here and you can see why. *David In Sweden

We have to start making earlier decisions. Barnes for example is 22 and in his career has just one underwhelming loan at Yeovil to his name. Is he really making it? Reed and Gallagher made debuts probably 5 or 6 years ago - are they PL quality? Hesketh, Sims, Lewis etc - same question. If not, sell some of them. I think the club are scared some of them will suddenly improve and end up eventually at other PL sides. Probably a similar scenario with Targett. Nobody will ever offer that kind of money for him again, so we missed out there. Needs brave decisions to be made.
-
Abraham probably out of our budget anyway.
-
Need to sort out new deals for Redmond, Hojbjerg, Obafemi and Valery.
-
The Italian version says it will be a loan with a 12m euro obligation to buy. Decent if true. Basically pays for most of Ings in the summer.
-
Also have to question, regardless of what RH wants, whether Krueger and Wilson will actually be able to get deals done. Especially in the January market, where we have had a couple of very recent cluster****s.
-
Bertrand possibly - RH said before Derby he was due back in training over the weekend. Would be a big boost. Ings - no chance. Obafemi - not clear from whats been said but probably doubtful
-
A really clever player, technically excellent and always fit and available until last year. A big part of our success and seems a great bloke as well. Good luck at Rangers. Another leader lost from our dressing room.
-
Clearly from RH Echo interview after the game today we need players out before we can bring any in. Davis to Rangers seems a formality but hopefully Gabbi can get something sorted. Could make a few quid selling Gallagher now he is fit I would have thought. The utter, utter dross we have like Long, Austin and Hoedt will be nigh on impossible to move on (why would any club want them?!) Should add - faith in R Wilson is very low. Complict in some truely dreadful signings, plus turning down a bid of over £10m for Targett - which is probably the most ridiculous of them all.
-
He doesn't get beaten every time a player runs at him like Targett does. Sent from my SM-T820 using Tapatalk
