  1. He has clearly done very well since the the Cardiff game and has performed better than Cedric this season, whilst showing a clear progression the more minutes he has played. One of the few bright spots of the season and can definitely be a PL starter next season if we stay up. He obviously has some good attacking moves in his locker but has understandably focused his his defensive basics til now.
  2. He has turned into a niggly little ****er and its the making of him.

    Nathan Redmond

Nowhere near what Redmond gets. If NR doesn't get at least 75% of POTS votes then it will be further evidence that he is measured by a different criteria than others. Without Redmond we would already be relegated. If we are relegated he will have no shortage of suitors who are better than Saints.

    Nathan Redmond

Very disappointing that people sat behind me last night were giving Redmond stuck whenever anything he tried didnt come off. The guy is our player of the season by an absolute country mile. Noticeable with some that a mistake made by Redmond versus a mistake by JWP, Hojbjerg etc tends to get a very different reaction. Thought that had been stamped out of the game, but lazy stereotypes remain unfortunately.
  5. The big problem is up front whetre bith Long and Austin are unselectable. Shows have far off Gallagher is that he doesn't get any game time ahead of these two. Would start Long as Austin is too immobile, but wouldnt suprise me if RH added Armstrong for Austin as he clearly doesn't trust either CA or SL and really both should have left a long time ago.
  6. Simce Hasenhuttl came in it has been enjoyable IMO. Poor results the last couple, but before that we looked a decent side and were getting good results.
  7. Relegation would be a financial disaster for a club like Saints with a big wage bill but relatively few stable assets. The value of the club would plummet so Gao wouldnt sell as he would lose so much money. He would more likely sell some players and then see if we could get promoted with a cheap squad. A far better scenario would be to scrape staying up and have Hasenhuttl sort the squad out in the summer. I trust him, he knows what he need and don't need. The club have already made clear they want to strip out the deadwood, replace with Academy players like Obafemi, Slattery, Valery etc and then have cash for a couple of game changer types. A good plan IMO, but obviously doing it is harder. All relegation does is make the aim to get back into the PL. So why leave in the first place?
  8. Just to check. In a huge game you would start: Marcus Barnes (one failed loan spell at Yeovil, no PL apps) Sam Gallagher (good spell at Blackburn two years ago, nothing since) Josh Sims (couldn't get in a dire Reading team) Really? Jesus.
  9. We lost away at Arsenal, who have only lost against Man City at home this season. What did some of you expect?
  10. By the time we play them Brighton will only be in big trouble if Cardiff have beaten them, which for Saints would be the worst possible result. Its clearly between us and Cardiff. Their home game tomorrow versus Everton is huge for us. If Cardiff win and we fail to beat Fulham then we could be well adrift by the end of March potentially. On the flip - if they lose and we win then it suddenly looks better again. We just have to beat Fulham.
  11. Mitrovic absolutely bullied Yoshida and Hoedt in the away game. Thats the key battle. Keep him quiet and we will likely win.
  12. This loss doesn't change a lot. We expected to lose and personally I expected Cardiff to get something. If at the end of the Spurs game we are within 3 points of Cardiff I would take that now.
  13. If we stay up it will be because of Hasenhuttl.
  14. Undisputable player of the season, whatever happens from here. The key will be keeping him next season (assuming we stay up of course).
  15. Its between Saints and Cardiff for the third spot. Yes other teams are struggling as well but realistically hard to look past us or them. Doubly annoying they have taken 25% of their points against us.
  16. A Cardiff win would make Fulham a 100% must win or relegation is a hell of a lot closer. No way we will pick up anything from the Spurs and Utd games.
  17. Whats the issue with Lemina? He struggled with a painful injury (clearly affecting his performances around Christmas) then had surgery, as he would have been advised and is currently recovering from that. Frustrating for him to miss so many games but not sure what he has done wrong?
  18. I think he will be in the mix for the Brighton game. The only good part about having a break is it gives a chance for him and Ings to get back fit. I would only risk Ings for the Spurs game if he is totally right.
  19. He has largely been converted to a CB anyway.
  20. If we stay up then I would imagine is very, very likely that Gallagher would leave in the summer.
  21. In the current six game form table we are 9th but the problem is Burnley are 5th, Newcastle 11th and Cardiff 13th. Even bigger problem, before Arsenal away, is the last 3 game form table: Cardiff - 5th Burnley - 8th Newcastle - 10th Saints - 16th These 3 games were supposed to be the ones that hauled us to virtual safety but we ****ed it up unfortunately.
  22. IMO its a shootout between us and Cardiff. Burnley have turned the corner. Newcastle and Brighton have a great run of fixtures. Palace are solid If Cardiff pick up 4 or 6 points from their next two home games then we will be in a very poor position. Fulham at home is an absolute must win and if they somehow do have a revival then it would be a disaster for us.
  23. As expected but no Ings in the latest training pictures. Doubt we will see him before Brighton, which should give him time to have fully rested his hammy. The Watford game being postponed could help in that regard, although hopefully we will realise this time that he cannot play midweek games.
  24. It can easily be argued that our striker options overall are bottom 3 during the times Ings is unavailable - if Redmond is excluded. Noticeable the impact Zohore made from the bench against us, and Crouch the week before. Our sub options are dire. To answer the RH question - he clesrly wanted a striker and for a good portion of the window he expected one...
  25. Yes. Why would one game make their league form worse? Can Brighton's league form even get worse?
