  1. Seems clear to me that we are missing a football administrator, i.e a replacement of kinds for Les Reed even if given a slightly different remit. Currently, aside from the Manager we have: Ralph Krueger - brought in to grow our presence in North America but inexperienced in football (soccer) Ross Wilson - Head of Recruitment who has overseen a spell of largely terrible recruitment and almost laughable failed transfer windows. Does anyone have any real faith that these two will deliver the change that is required to our squad this summer? I have total trust in RH, I think he gets our shortcomings and knows what is needed to be competitive in the PL. However, he can suggest and ask for certain things, but ultimately we have two specialists in failure that will be tasked with delivering it. Would feel more comfortable if we apppointed, shortly, a more experienced football administrator. Krueger suggested there would be some change in thenrecent fans forum - to hit the ground running in the summer it is needed ASAP.

    Nathan Redmond

By an absolute mile. If he gets injured we are in big trouble. Assuming we stay up we really need to get his contract extended. Will be interest in him for sure.

    Injury Watch

We aren't good enough to leave him out when he is fit.
  4. This. Good revival but if we want to be comfortable in April and May then we have to win. Hopefully Bertrand comes back in - we aren't good enough to not pick our best players.
  5. Personally would prefer a Palace win. They won't be going down in my opinion. Better for Fulham to get as few points as possible.
  6. In addition we are still liable for the transfer fee installments of Carillo, Hoedt, Boufal etc until we have paid what we contractually agreed to. The fees don't go away just because the players do.
  7. I make it about 3 weeks full training he has had. Missed about 2 and half months but not exactly coming back from an ACL operation. RH vague when asked in yesterdays presser. Said he needs to get match fit but when asked how without playing matches he kind of sidestepped the question and talked about intense training. I have a feeling Targett will play til the end of the season and we will look to sell Bertrand in the summer. Personally really like RB and think Targett consistently struggles at PL level but one is an Academy player and the other isn't. Club will probably feel they can save on Bertrand's wages.
  8. A weird one. Nice to be ruthless regarding the outgoings. The only arguable one there is Cedric - as we are left with raw options and little cover. Otherwise - good work. Shame we couldn't shift Austin. Incomings...odd. i just don't trust Ross Wilson to get deals done. Throughout the window RH has said he expected us to be active and a couple of weeks ago said we would definitely get one player. Wonder what went wrong? Wonder if it has ****ed off our best Manager in ages? Also wonder what will happen to the £200k + a week that we have saved in wages - will this be reinvested next season? Or will it disappear? Overall - we are unquestionably weaker than in December squad wise, but our team is playing well and hopefully have enough to get to the summer and have a major rebuild. Our best signing has been Hassehutl, without whom we would be ****ed.
  9. So from Ralph's comments he clearly expects somethig to be done....over to wee Ross and the hockey lad. Boost this roster.
  10. Would be amazed if we committed to more summer spending now, given we already have Ings on that basis. Expecting no ins and no outs personally. If we don't want to loan out Gallagher and Austin doesn't go anywhere permanently then we would have six strikers already (Redmond, Ings, Long, Austin, Obafemi, Gallagher) so no room for another.
  11. Hodgson tactically schooled us. Made it impossible for us to attack through the middle and feed Redmond and Ings. Very happy to let Valery and Targett have the ball and they are our two weak links. The sooner Bertrand is back in the team the better. Overall good result as we were so poor, but hope RH has learned from that as the other teams at the botrom will setup similarly at St Mary's - we need to be better at creating against these kind of teams. Nobody was good, but JWP less poor than others second half and kept a cool head for the goal.

    Che Adams

Burnley local media (@bodenknights) reporting they have made a bid for Adams.
  13. Weird if true seeing as a couple of days ago Ralph said: "It doesn’t mean we don’t take any player but it’s a young one we try to build up for the future and there are a few players we are looking at.” 27 isn't a young player for the future. Its effectively swapping one 27yo RB for (based on his career) a worse 27yo RB. I hope he isn't ****ed off as from his comments throughout the window i.e looking to add quality, will replace Gabbiadini, definitely signing someone etc, he clearly expected a bit more - and has earned the right to expect that more than any of our recent Managers. If we couldn't get who we really wanted at RB in Jan then why loan Cedric - its not like we need €500k - the cost of bedsit in London? We could have kept him and sold in the summer once more options were available to sign a young up and coming player as stated as the aim. Getting rid of the players we have totally makes sense, but our process of actually signing players remains a cluster**** - but then again, Ross Wilson has overseen a few of those as Head of Recruitment Of our four main targets, JKA, Mepham, Maehle, Adams it seems we just can't afford any of them, or are unwilling to pay what is needed to get the deal done. We won't get any of these in the summer either as their prices will go up if they keep doing well. We can brief the Echo of being "hopeful" of signing good players, just like we used to brief Jeremy Wilson, but that doesn't translate to actually signing good players.

    Che Adams

Don't see this one happening. Would be a risk to have no real options if Redmond got injured but summer is a better time to do business.
  15. Dusic

    Che Adams

If we genuinely want him and can't see off Burnley then you do have to wonder about the capability of Wilson and Krueger.
  16. Personally think we won't sign anyone. Reasons being: 1. We have little money 2. There are three days left and the players we want play for clubs who don't want to sell and have no time to get a replacement in. Sounds familiar! 3. Ross Wilson and Ralph Krueger have a long history of poor transfer windows, especially in January
  17. Dusic

    Che Adams

£8m seems low these days for a player of high potential who is one of the top scorers in the Championship. Its the same as we paid for Jay Rod about 5 years ago and the fees have gone mad since then. Re the Gallagher point, that is näive. Its about more than what his goal tally last year was - its the specific attributes the player brings. If Gallagher had them then he would be playing in the first XI.
  18. Indeed. He has only scored more than 7 goals in one PL season which was 2014/15 for QPR. Has returned PL tallies of 1, 6, 7 and 2 for Saints. So clearly not an 8-12 goal striker. And not worth anywhere near 60k a week.

    Che Adams

If Adam Leitch confims we want him then we clearly do. Hope now that is known that we manage to get it done, as there will be interest from others. To sign Adams and get a fee for Austin would make it a very productive window IMO.
  20. Adams is a similar profile to Ollie Watkins from Brentford who we have also been linked with. That type of player, to compete with Redmond and Armstrong, is exactly what we need IMO.
  21. Nixon saying we are keen on Che Adams of Birmingham.

    Cedric/Maehle

Maehle starting tonight for Gent. Clearly nothing imminent regarding a move. If we are very keen then a risk to wait til summer if there is a possibility of getting him now.
  23. Some absolute drivel on here. IMO its all good business. None of these players, Cedric aside, have contributed this season. We need to get rid of big earners who don't add anything to the starting XI, to allow us to free up wages for a couple of big hitters whilst the likes of Obafemi, Valery, Slattery get a place in the squad on far less cash than who they are replacing. The only issue I have is at RB where we need a signing when Cedric goes. Finally good to see the club being ruthless.
  24. Dusic

    Cedric/Maehle

We all trust RH. But its Ross Wilson and Ralph Krueger who are doing the deals - and both were here during those dreadful windows that CB Fry describes.
  25. Has been a poor signing overall. Averaged about 5 goals a season during his time here. Two stupid FA bans at times where he may have had game time as well. High wages but a low ability to keep himself fit. Would be brilliant to get him off the wage bill and also get a fee in the process.
