Not my argument, but I think he said he missed few games, not missed quite a few games.

How many of the 1000 at ull travelled up from the South coast? We always seem to get around 1000 for the northern non glittering games

the league the reserves play in changes it's name. Massive, massive news.

he tipped us to win at home to ull and we did win. He tipped us to lose at ull and we didn't lose. Just sayin like.

depending on our first 11, has Steven Davis been linked to a move?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/26186275 The Wycombe fans owned their club for about 18th months. Anyone on here know if this move was always part of the plan?

suggesting he might stay after all?

not sure Baines has been all that great this season. He had an injury and has only played 20 times for Everton. I'm reluctant to include Tore just because I agree with Didi Hamman when he says he is a liability defensively - he gets such a free role at City, which is why he scores loads of goals, but also why it leaves Man City open. That said, when he is on his game he's unstoppable. It's very difficult to pick a side. You have to have watched all teams all season to really know what players have done. Ozil to me looked top class and was the stand out player for Arsenal at our place, but he has been slated recently, so I've no idea how good or bad he's been. Ramsey scored goals for fun, but was his all round game good too? He didn't play at SMS so how can I judge him? Shawcross is the most impressive centre back I've seen at SMS, but has he been like that all season. Probably not. You also have to look at players and the quality around them. Stick John Terry in that Stoke side instead of Shawcross and would they be a better side? Anyho, here's my best performing in the first 26 games side for what its worth. Krul Coleman Shawcross Lovren Shaw Lallana Dembele Toure Hazard Agureo Suarez subs: Begavich, Ivanovic, Reid, Oscar, Ramsey, Adebeyor, Sturridge

if we sell our fullbacks we will take backwards step IMO, no matter what money we bring in. Quite frankly we have three of the best performing full backs in the league right now and there aren't too many decent ones out there. Just look at the players the top sides are fielding in that position: Sagna, Monreal, Cliche, Azpilicueta, Cissokho, Cole, Rafael, Evra...they could all do with a serious upgrade. People will moan if we don't spend some serious money in the summer on signings, but for me we'd be better following the Everton model and spend the money on some serious wages to keep Shaw and Clyne content with their lot.

people from off the island aren't going to drive to Fratton to buy their food, so minimal additional food sales will take place in Pompey. That means effectively there are hardly any additional jobs created, Tesco merely force other shops in the region to reduce staff and or hours of their staff.

Perhaps we can start by hoarding a few of the best young keepers coming through and then loaning them out to ensure they keep improving. Any stand out young player in the championship like bale or chamberlain, dare I say it ince should be on our radar. In fact Ince is the perfect example. I wonder if we bid for him.

Has Barker had any luck finding that `supporter'?

I wouldn't suggest a policy of only buying from that level, but there is no reason why we shouldn't look at the gems coming through, especially young talent. The Chelsea/Man City way of squad building is fine if you have the cash, but the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Spurs have all bought young players from the second tier (or below) to complement International signings. I doubt there is a manager in the Prem league that doesn't wish they had signed Bale when they had the chance.

hopefully we will, but we are not one of the big boys. so keeping our best players will always be tough. When you get a decent batch together all at the same time, play well, you have to take advantage of that are try and win that trophy.

We'llhave our usual 900 northern based Saints there no matter what, but the fact the game the game has been moved to be on TV makes is less appealing for fans. Perhaps Saints share of the £250,000 TV money they get for the game could have been put towards free coaches for us Southerners.

I love this post. This forum can be hard work at times, but every now and then someone actually manages to remind me what this whole supporter thing is all about.

If you give a guy a three year contract why do you need to start renegotiating a new one 12 months into it?

the Skates are paying Connelly to score goals for Oxford?

I don't buy the replica shirts, so I wondered what the manufactured (rather than design) quality was of the own brand shirts compared to the Umbro and now Adidas shirts? I think the last shirt I ever had was the 88-89 Hummel kit and they were great. At that time stitched in badges not ironed on versions were the order of the day.

A £93m interest free loan to the club for the stadium (and another £30m loan for the training ground) suggests to me that he won't be pulling out soon. Besides, you don't go to the trouble they did to get the stadium and then turn your back on the club shortly after. Just shows that by ad large for sides looking to get promoted from the Championship they face £10m+ losses a season should they fail.

really? Pass completion is 86% - the highest in the league and possession 59%, also the highest in the Premier league. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/02/05/jl-two-stats-that-prove-laudrup-sacking-was-wrong-for-swansea/ doesn't mean the football is good though I guess, and the results speak for themselves.

Yes please.

Stealing that. Brilliant.
