  1. I would imagine `does your boyfriend know your here?' would be overlooked, but someone shouting in an hostile manner "**** off you queer ****" would probably draw attention from the police. The term "over the top" was used by the policeman I spoke to. If you were there then you know a damn sight more than I about this specific arrest. I find it hard to believe that one guy was picked out and he just happened to be the person that wasn't doing anything whilst all around him were. Being arrested for the above mentioned phrase is not PC going mad, just as arresting someone for shouting **** off you black **** is not PC gone mad.
  2. must have been a tight squeeze when Leeds came to town as they had 3700 supporters at Watford.
  3. he's certainly scored some goals but the youtube video of him doesn't half show a lot of tap ins (admittedly the further you go in the better the quality of finish). I just wonder if he has the ability to create a yard for himself to be able to score in the Prem? He also doesn't look like a big target man to me. He's certainly not a big tall lad. £4m maybe, but £6m? Sounds a lot to me. I'll trust Adkins, he has done pretty well so far with transfers.
  4. very well analysed
  5. absolutely. When we are playing well we can beat any side in this division, we have proved that, so there is no need to worry. This season could be the best I've ever seen...
  6. I'm not young and IMO the level of noise was poor by our standards. I put that down to a very poor first half that offered both sets of fans pretty much nothing to get their teeth into. The home fans were as bad as I have ever encountered, that didn't help generate an atmosphere, and the cold. It was bloody freezing.
  7. I underestimated how badly effected by a lack of confidence Forest would be. They looked shot and only Cov have looked worse. They are in big trouble and with no money to buy players they are going need to sell to bring in to turn their season. I start with Forest just to set the scene on this victory. Don't get carried away by it, just as you shouldn't have got carried away by the Brighton defeat. In the first half we weren't great. We started very slowly and expected Forest to put the pressure on. They didn't, they stood off and it allowed us to get a foothold in the game. Jos' block on Harewood shot immediately proceeded us going up the other end and scoring. A bad mistake by Chambers let us in. From that moment on the game was ours. The red card, fully justified in my eyes just out a nail in the coffin. I thought Forest would rally after the break but we just dominated completely and could have got a hat full of goals. We passed them to death, stretch them and then exploited the huge gaps out wide. We must be the worst side to go down to ten men against. We passed and moved. First touch from everyone was top notch and the game was an exhibition with half hour to go. There will be much tougher tests. Great to get our season back on track. I think we have played well in the last four games and Connellys link up play has a lot to do with that. Davies 7 I watched his warm up and he was terrible. Dropping everything, even letting one slip through his hands. Who gives a **** about the warms up? Well he had **** all to do in the game, one McGugan freekick aside. He gets a 7 as the save was decent, no more than that, but otherwise perfect game for him. Kicking and decisions great. Harding 6 decent enough, very solid defensively as always, a 6 is a decent score by my rational, but he always came inside and didn't look overly comfortable going forward on his right peg. Why would he? McGugan offered little threat. Martin 8 hardly noticed him, which perhaps shows how in control him and we were. Should have. scored Jos 8 another solid game. Rightly booked when Lallana's poor pass left him exposed to Tudgay's pace. Decent (nothing more than that) block, to Harewood's shot. Shoukd have scored. Fox 6 decent game, good choices but worryingly got taken to pieces for pace in the first half by McCeary, came to nothing thankfully. I can see why he drops so deep and doesn't get tight. He hasn't got pace. Terrible corners again. Woeful in fact until Connelly flicked on that Martin should have buried. Cork 9 superb game and our stand out player for me even at right midfield. Adkins made the right choice going back to his tried and trusted players Morgan 8 Massive fan, but I didn't think it was his best game to be honest. A fella behind me was going spare at Morgan for bottling out of a few tackles on the first half and he might have had a point, however you could say he made the right choices seeing as he wouldn't have made those tackles. Second half he got hold of the game and that was the end for Forest. I've always said he had a great shot on him, he strikes the ball well and today he got the time he needed. Hammond 8 just the usual Hammond, passing and offering himself. The centre was ours. Connelly 9 movement was terrific and as mentioned him linking up the play has been badly missed. He got in between the lines and we moved effortlessly from back to front Guly 7 once again one or two poor first touches, but whenever he miscontrolled he worked his socks off to try and win it back and often did. Actually there weren't too many bad touches and he lead the line well. Probably his best away showing since Barnsley. Lucky not to be booked in the incident where he did his hamstring. Holmes 7 I'm not a fan (lack of pace and engine leaves me wanting more) but he looked good today. Forgive me for mentioning the warm up again, but unlike most others he was smashing his shots in top and bottom corners during the practice and looked 100% on it. When he came on he showed exactly the same professionalism. Good movement and usual excellent first touch.
  8. what's the fitness report on Guly and Richardson? Any ideas chaps? Travelling up and back with Forest fans so it could be one of the best or worst days if the year.
  9. blimey. That could go down as one of the best `wrong foot' goals ever scored. Amazing volley on your good foot, but on your wrongun, that is purely out of this world. Love that kit, blue or otherwise.
  10. the transfer embargo will narrow that down to one then.
  11. how much are Leeds charging? Long old trip (and expensive) for those living on the South coast so can't see many making it now its on the box. We'll still get the usual 900 Northern based supporters and die hards.
  12. On the train back from Brighton I was stood next to two members of Hampshire/British Transport Police who had been part of the policing for the game. I had a long chat with them about the bubble game and the issue of homophobic chanting came up. He mentioned that a Saints fan had been arrested at half time, not for singing the very boring boyfriend chant, but for `over the top offensive chants and comments'. Sounds like the same guy to me. Considering the earlier arrests at the home game the fans knew the score and besides there is no place for this sort of abusive in a modern society. If the fella had been shouting racist taunts at opposing fans would you be chastising the police for arresting the guy? Is it is the number of officers involved that you have a problem with?
  13. there are better players, just not affordable better players. I'd take Wilfried Zaha without a second thought and Matt Phillips is another that is better than we have. Jordan Mutch, Curtis Davies, Ambrose...they are all players that would be ideal for us but you'd have to spend a fortune to prise them away.
  14. was Wallace left footed? If not what an unbelievable goal that is.
  15. Let's bring in DJ Campbell and Bothroyd on loan till the end of the season.
  16. is Hooper better?
  17. because Kenright wouldn't sell to this chump. Chumps like Cala can only buy clubs that no one else want.
  18. so Saints must have applied for the work permit a while back. I thought some on here said there was a lack of planning and decision making at the club? Love these overseas signings that you know nothing about. Exciting. Hope he turns out to be a real star. Hope everyone gives him time to settle.
  19. have we sold over 2000 for Forest then?
  20. Unkle or Verve or Sultans of Ping FC...it's so hard to decide
  21. his wages were paid for and QPR paid a loan fee as well. I have to say unless that 650,000 was based on appearances and promotion etc. I'd of thought we would have taken it and moved on. I just wonder how much we paid for him in the first place. Perhaps a lot higher than first thought.
  22. £27 when it's on the box is a lot. We always play **** up there. Still haven't recovered from the `digger' masterclass in 2003.
  23. I don't think our opinions are all that far apart, I mean I don't for a minute think he's a classy player on the ball, has any pace or would improve the side. But this idea that he didn't play well last season and contribute to our promotion is ********. He was immense. Forwards are different at this level. Hardly any sides have a big oaf, so he's not needed, but Henderson is exactly the sort of striker we might need him to play against. Harley Dean or Jaidi in that particular game? Easy choice in my mind. If Jaidi is fit then NA will spend the money on a wideman and a striker no a CB.
  24. that's not a view I share. He had a great season. He's also a much better player with the ball than given credit for. He's no Moore, but he makes decent decisions and keeps things simple. By the way he was instrumental in getting Brum promoted three seasons back and his legs aren't much worse now than they were then. He's slow, as he was then, but he can still do a job if two CB's get injured. And that is the point, two players need to get injured for him to come in. He's a bloody great 4th choice CB and against Henderson in the cup (if Millwall go through) I'd pick him without a second thought (if fit).
  25. which means he is after a wide man.
