Cheers. I take it everyone is sat down over there? I currently have back row seats so I can stand up a fair bit if I choose.
-
you are right it was. Not sure about Diarra as he signed four days after Pardew got there so proabably a done deal before he got there.
-
At Charlton he signed: Souleymane Diawara £3700000 Ben Thatcher £ 500000 Madjid Bougherra £ 2500000 Luke Varney £ 2000000 Chris Iwelumo Free Patrick McCarthy £ 650000 Yassin Moutaouakil £ 400000 Jose Semedo Free Martin Christensen £ 250000 Chris Powell Free Svetoslav Todorov Free Nicky Weaver Free Dean Sinclair £ 125000 Izale McLeod £ 1100000 Zheng Zhi £2000000 he offloaded Perry to WBA by the way. I hope he goes back for Jose Semedo. I thought he looked a great defensive midfielder. Midn you we perhaps need players in other positions more.

feels like a very similar sort of appointment as Pearson. Solid former defender that won't take any **** and has firm enough shoulders to cope with managing a club of our size. I didn't think KK or WGS were ever realistic so if you look at possible candidates for a third tier club Pardew looks a very decent option. I just wonder if his appointment will be inspirational enough to bring fans back. Perhaps some very decent early signings and a couple of wins early doors will do the trick.

that's a good shout. Forrest are stockpiling forwards but the manager I think has been quoted as saying he wants 7 attackers. if he was going to join us he would have come as part of the McGoldrick deal. Mind you we didn't have the cash then did we!

Having been moved from my Itchen 1 seat last summer I took a same price seat in Block 5. This is a centre position with a centre position price for 09/10 so I decided to move into block 4 and get the reduced ST price. Unfortunatley because I sit with two mates we need three in a row and there are none available in Block 4. Block 4 is obviously very popular and I pointed this out when asking about opening blocks 1-3, but the response I got was that that 1-3 would be the very last blocks they open, with Itchen 13-15 the first of the three corners to be opened should they be needed. Higher policing costs are the reason. Not sure what to do now. I either return to the Northam or get a seat in the Kingland wing anyone tell me the block number and what it is like over there?

how about Bobo Balde or Paul Hartley
-
I'd be surprised if John was offered a contract unless the other two left.
-
watch how fast he is when a big fat contract is waved under hs nose.
-
bumped into him on holiday a few years ago now. Getting proper bevvied up and sweating furiously on a late night dance floor forever became known as doing a Hartson. All the best to him and what was then a young family.
-
we certainly need pace, but don't underestimate Patterson. In every game he has played he has shown strength, touch and desire. He certainly didn't look out of his depth in the CCC and a division lower is going to help him shine. We need four strikers and I'm happy for him to be one of those.
-
to add to your collection?
-
he stood out a mile at centre midfield in the youth team, but if he is going to play there this season it will be like starting again as he has been learning the right back role for 12 months.
-
maybe the replacement is lined up but they wanted to put a respectable time between the sacking and employing of managers.

have they agreed a price yet though? All the reports suggest that has yet to be shaked on.
-
Sheringham and Berger didn't play for the skates in the CCC. De Zeeuw, Foxe, Hislop, Festa, Merson, Stone and Sherwood were the senior signings. If you are going to be successful though you need good youngsers as well and they signed League 1's best player in Matty Taylor. We need to be be buying one or two of League 1 and 2's best players if we are serious about promotion.
-
not the worst shout in the world, far better than JFH that's for sure.
-
our lack of height and pace at the back have got us into far more trouble IMO. Is he really going to be an improvement on James? I'm amazed at the number of people desperate for his signature. I wonder how many of these people have seen him more than once or twice.
-
about 80 odd were as a sub. What the stats fail to show is how hsi pace turned teams round and offered us an out ball down the channels. What it also doesn't tell you is how bloody poor we became when we didn't have him running down the channels and instead had the likes of Stern john standing around waiting for a chance to be laid on a plate. What I never understood was why after chasing four or five horrific punts into no mans land when he decided the next one was just pointless to chase he would be lambasted by fans for being lazy. He wasn't lazy, he just got terrible, terrible service which on the odd occasion he decided wasn't worth chasing... and he was right. Just like Surman he needs a move so I'd be surprised if he stayed.
-
neither are going to drop down to League 1.
-
badly need pacey replacements then. Patterson, Rasiak and or John won't fit the bill.
-
is this why Molyneux is out on trials? Anyone know if he has got a move sorted yet?
-
not sure but Simon Carter from the Echo when interviewed on TalkSport said that Lallana had said he wanted to leave.

I'd take Alan Knill in a shot, he has done a very good job at Bury. O"Driscoll would be my ideal choice though. Look what he has done on a tiny budget at Donny. Bloody brilliant job and playing the game in the way we want to see it played at SMS. Not sure why he would want to drop down a division as he is on the way up and only a small step from a massive CCC job and then who knows... WGS is NOT coming here. No chance. For one he has been here and done that, two he has a policy of not outstaying his welcome - so why come back and ruin the goodwill, and finally we are talking about a Champions League manager dropping down to Div 3. Do me a favour. If O'Driscoll signs I would be chuffed to bits but even that is going to be beyond us. Cheer uo though lads, a week ago we would have taken anybody...anybody at all so long as we existed. Shortest memories in the world some of you. Still buzzing. Roll on the start of the season.
