great news. I'm chuffed with that. Those that bought last year despite knowing we were in for a load of **** deserve a brucey bonus IMO.
-
I liked Jose Somedo myself from Charlton.
-
Brilliant news. Its says undisclosed fee. Doesn't say what he has actually bought asset wise or where the club is left regarding its debts/mortgage.
-
maybe the previous didn't include the land, training ground, stadium...who knows.
-
go on, you can tell me, you two are lovers right?
-
sorry if this has been explained before, but does anyone know what is being bought? Will we be debt and mortgage free? Also is there any confirmation that the new owner si actually using his own funds or is he doing a Glazier and borrowing to buy?
-
Agreed, however unless the oponents started their pres season much much ealier than us we should be both fitter AND better and therefore winning these games at a canter. We aren't therefore we are either not fit enough yet (what have the overpaid lazy bastards being doing all summer) or not good enough (I think we know that). Take your pick. There is a serious lack of quality in our side especially in defence, in midfield and up front. The sooner the new owner is sorted the sooner we can start addressing these areas.

What is Gobern's actual position? When he played out wide he looked gash but when moved inside he looked like Carlton Palmer...no not still gash, but combative, leggy and hardworking.

IYO what makes a good manager

I think some people confuse `can't be arsed to watch a sack of **** saints side lose again at sms' with `boycotting because Rupert Lowe came back to try and protect his investment'.

champions league aint bad now and then

the way Charlton tore us apart at the end of the season makes me think they look a better prospect. They also looked better than us at their place as well - actually I still wonder how did they went down? As for us, I wonder if we are capable of attracting the right players we need to turn us into a lightweight, old, slow, basic side into one that can win pretty much every game.
-
who knows, the new owner might double season ticket prices and then a fans voice might be needed.
-
even if it is **** all at least we are saved and hopefully the club is free from debt so becomes an attractive proposition to another owner somewhere down the line.

Al Fahid, Mandric, Michael Ashley, Björgólfur Gudmundsson, and Darragh MacAnthony even at Peterborough have all dipped into their fortunes a fair bit.

The FL won't do anything but I'd o thought the creditors will be asking Fry to examine the other bid before closing the deal with the ML. Mind you `a bird in the hand...' springs to mind so maybe they won't. Everyone has had more than enough time to table a bid, I don't think any consortium can have any complaints.
-
absolutely, we now need the right players to get us winning games. First stop a centre half, then a central midfielder, then two wide men and a pacey striker.

my football watching life won't ever be complete till that day comes. Even reading those `lyrics' makes me feel sick.

Jo Tessem on Trial next week (He's not really)(Actually he might be)
Chez replied to Bourno's topic in The Saints
think oaf-like rabbit caught in giant headlights. He only got about 5 minutes at the end of one match, but that was more than long enough for the entire stadium to see he was not up to the task - one that was lower than that of Davenport I might add. Poor guy, you had to feel sorry for him really and to think O'Neil moaned about him not getting game time whilst being here on loan. I wonder if he has found his feet yet. He'll probably turn out to be a decent player! -
so is swineflu

not sure he was worse than O'Halloran -
can we put the dark down as a reason for so many misplaced passes?

no brainer leaving us for a premiership side. If Green gets injured then in he comes, and while he waits for that chance he'll double his wages. I know he wants to stay in the area as he kids are settled but thats quite a tough old commute isn't it?
