  1. He is being undersold. That sir is not good business.
  2. FFS sake it is bad enough that we are losing Davies but taking Pulis off their hands is a total waste of time. He is crap. Every Stoke fan I talk to say he would never have got a game for Stoke if his name wasn't Pulis and that was when they were in the CCC. We've got enough CMs anyway in Gillet, Schneiderlin, Wotton and James. What we need is fullbacks and strikers
  3. if you are going bust you lay staff off as soon as possible as they are your biggest costs, besides tell me how we get more fans back to the stadium?
  4. we could have paid Skacel the £4k a week he would have been losing if he joined Ipswich
  5. agree with that fully. A solid right back and decent wide men and we might not have lost.
  6. Happy to support the youngsters but not sure why I should make allowances for them. If they are not good enough they should not be in the side. People can't use the `good enough they are old enough' line then ask fans to forgive the youth if they are actually not good enough. Its not just about youth though, overall I don't think there is enough quality in the squad young or old.
  7. Not everyone is like that. I can see that we have played well at the start of games but if I had to put my house on it I'd say we will struggle this season to survive.
  8. Davis 7 - some decent saves, couldn't fault him really James 3 - lacks pace which was exposed. No help from McGoldrick mind. Perry 5 - terrible distribution and beaten in the air a lot Svensson 7 - started great but got beaten in the air towards the end Surman 7 - wsted at fullback, just could not get forward in 2nd half Schneiderlin 8 - very composed, ran the show in 1st half Gillet 6 - some terrible first touches that nearly cost us. Holmes 5 - Its Anders Svensson, no pace and did nothing in 2nd half McGoldrick 3 - never a right midfielder/winger. Even less effective when moved into middle John 6 - shoukd hae acored with header. Tough on his own. Showed how hard the role is when McGoldrick tried and failed. Lallana 8 - a real talent, worked his socks off as well. Thompson 4 - genuine pace and caused them problems but no end product. Not used enough. Decent start but once Brum worked us out and then with Jerome coming on for Nafti the game changed. He ran us ragged by the way. Brum murdered us in the second half and deserved to win. We look lightweight up front. McGoldrick was terrible.
  9. he joined in October and I should imagine at the time you, him and all and sundry didn't expect us to be all but relegated come May. Since then we have started to offload anything not bolted down making us hot candidates for relegation. Things now look a lots worse than when he joined. Its not just money that is tempting him its the fact we are in deep trouble and going backwards as a club.
  10. clearly all players are for sale and the head coach doesn't get a say as to who stays and and who goes. If that is not the case I'm amazed someone hasn't filled him in as to the guys quality. I feel as bad as I did when I read that Bridge was leaving.
  11. when he agreed to join we had just missed out on promotion to the premiership. A season later he can see we are a million miles from the Prem and look likely relegation candidates. From his point of view I can see why he would want out.
  12. why the hell not? Cardiff signed Chopra from Newcastle here he failed to make the grade (or earn a shirt), he then shined in the CCC and went for over £6m. OK so he's a striker so perhaps the value is slightly higher, but how about Higginbottom going to Sunderland for £3m?
  13. the overall tiny home crowd spread around a big stadium doesn't help either.
  14. but for two dissallowed goals...
  15. did it ****. The first goal was due to Perry missing the header and then falling over. The ball was miles out and no reason or opportunity for Davis to come. The second was due to three players getting drawn to the winger leaving 3 on 2 in the middle. The cross was deep, Davis had no chance to come and no chance to stop the goal. Get off the guys back, there were others that had much worse games. James at fullback was terrible.
  16. any positives I took from Svensson coming back have been removed by this news. I don't understand why we would put a claus in a contract allowing him to leave for 30% more han we signed him for. Gutted.
  17. I agree clubs going into admin don't buy players, but we certainly did not pay that amount up front, I'd imagine it was about £200k tops and the rest is based on the usual things like games and promotion etc.
  18. I suspect there would be a serious proviso of `if he stays fit' besides there are two positions and Davies would be almost everyones second choice (if not first)
  19. I think you are missing one of those sarcastic rolly eye type thingys. He was one of the few bright sparks of last season. Decent CB's are extremely hard to find and make all the difference in this long ball league. He's worth £3m easily based on what we saw last season.

    Stern John

I agree with you but does Lowe actually have any choice but to offload the top earners if we are to not go bankrupt.
  21. biggest waste of money ever. I'd put him right up there with Folly in terms of usefulness at CM.
  22. we had to lose Rasiak or John for financial reasons so its good news from that point of view. He will be out of contract come the summer so that means we won't be getting a transfer fee for him now. I hope the loan fee to Watford is significant.
  23. I didn't notice the winky thing and got well and truely snagged on that lovely juicy big fat piece of bait.
  24. I don't agree with that at all. I (and I imagine the club a well) doubt there are many (or indeed any) supporters going to 16 or more home league games a season paying £384+ rather than forking out £380 for a season ticket. If there are then they are pretty silly not to have made that simple calculation. If they are not going to 16+ games then they don't pay more than ST holders. I dare say there are some that will end up going to more than 16 games if Saints do particularly well, but unlike ST holders they can keep their money in their pocket if things go bad. ST holders pay whatever the weather, so why not reward them?
  25. when you say structured well do you mean priced well? In the end all that matters is whether or not the funds exist to pay the loan fee and the wages. I suspect the wages of Daily were £30k a week. That certainly isn't the kind of `structure' Lowe is going to support this season. If Rasiak, Skacel, Thomas, Safri and John leave then I think loans are an excellent way of improving the quality without the need for long term contracts,
