  1. I think your real name should be I'm A Fucking Dopey Thick Cunt
  2. Well, that team is shit, we haven't got a hope
  3. I don't know what to say really. One hour and a quarter to the biggest battle of our professional lives all comes down to today. Either we heal as a team or we are going to crumble. Inch by inch play by play till we're finished. We are in hell right now, gentlemen believe me and we can stay here and get the shit kicked out of us or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb out of hell. One inch, at a time. Now I can't do it for you. I'm too old. I look around and I see these young faces and I think I mean I made every wrong choice a middle age man could make. I uh.... I pissed away all my money believe it or not. I chased off anyone who has ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know when you get old in life things get taken from you. That's, that's part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losing stuff. You find out that life is just a game of inches. So is football. Because in either game life or football the margin for error is so small. I mean one half step too late or to early you don't quite make it. One half second too slow or too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They are in ever break of the game every minute, every second. On this team, we fight for that inch On this team, we tear ourselves, and everyone around us to pieces for that inch. We CLAW with our finger nails for that inch. Cause we know when we add up all those inches that's going to make the fucking difference between WINNING and LOSING between LIVING and DYING. I'll tell you this in any fight it is the guy who is willing to die who is going to win that inch. And I know if I am going to have any life anymore it is because, I am still willing to fight, and die for that inch because that is what LIVING is. The six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You gotta look at the guy next to you. Look into his eyes. Now I think you are going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. You are going to see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team because he knows when it comes down to it, you are gonna do the same thing for him. That's a team, gentlemen and either we heal now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys. That's all it is. Now, whattaya gonna do?
  4. I have only just read this and agree. He's still talking about that idea now, but it doesn't quite sit right because it is surely true all all elite sportspeople. As people sometimes say to test politicians bullshit - "I'm on the side of working people" - just imagine if anyone would ever say the opposite of that. Everyone in this game wants to win. It doesn't make anyone unique. Still has a good squad for this division - far away from the levels of 23/24 for sure, but we should reasonably expect that we can keep pace with giants like Middlesbrough, Stoke, Bristol, Preston, Coventry and West Brom. If he doesn't start putting a winning run together his "wonder kid" reputation will be in tatters. Like Martin he arrived here without ever really achieving anything - plenty of managers will have finished mid table in Ligue 1 before. But Right now Still looks like he might not start achieving with us either. Hopefully this is the meltdown before the Leeds home game of 23/24 and it all clicks after that.

I don't understand what last season got to do with us being able to compete with Bristol City, QPR, Hull, Watford, Swansea and Portsmouth. This season we have spent a fortune on established Championship players, while retaining many that are proven at this level. Players not even in the squad would get in many of our opponents first elevens. I think building a "cohesive team capable of playing good football" is on the manager, which is what this thread is about. He's got the resources to do that at this level.

Your obsession with Phil Parsons is fucking deranged πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
  7. This is horrific. Illustrates why we needed a bit of leadership in the dugout, not a hipster child.
  8. "Quick, get it done before anyone thinks we're doing it to line up Russell Martin". They've won more league games than we have. Manning was decent at Bristol, taking them to 6th last year. On top of that Norwich is his home town club. Absolutely brutal if they bin him off after 6 games. Absolutely no chance on earth we will do anything remotely similar. Lose the next three league games on the spin and maybe.
  9. One season we sacked Alan Pardew after three games and his replacement got us promoted into the Championship and the Premier League at least one year ahead of schedule, which was fantastic for the club, players and finances.
  10. Quite and let's remember that Aribo and Edozie would walk into nearly every squad and into most teams in the division but we decided not to play them at all.
  11. We shouldn't be giving football management jobs like we're the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Southampton Football Club as the worst episode of Jim'll Fix It it is possible to imagine.
  12. 100% agree with you that we should have appointed an experienced manager with gravitas and authority built from managing at a significantly higher level.
  13. With the investment in players and wages that we have put through this is an insanely low expectation. If you don’t think we should be anywhere near the promotion places this season then you basically think we can never hope to be promoted again because we won't have better resources than now for any other future season.

I would say it am assuming a best case scenario where someone could come in for the last third of the season and Iain Dowie us into the play offs. It could be worse but I don't think we will be in relegation risk.

The flipside is we will win some games because we have a significantly better set of players than almost every other team. And this will be taken as proof that the manager is "on the right track" etc so will just buy more time. One win in every four or five matches and he stays in role until the January window closes and we're 12th ("only seven points off the play offs") What a wasted pre season, a wasted window. And we are on the brink of a wasted season.
  16. Fair play to whoever waited for them to finish clearing up and then threw his green ball on πŸ˜‚
  17. Spors went out and spent seven million on Damion Downs. (Hull City in total spent 700k this summer) Whatever is happening is on Spors 100%.
  18. If you look at the top 6, half of them have managers who are on the same number of games as Still. So you can't really use the "Rome wasn't built in a day" stuff when the likes of Bristol City and Middlesbrough are doing OK in the same time frame.
  19. Fair to say i would not have been dancing in the streets if we had announced Rob Edwards but here we are. His 6 games are a hell of a lot better than ours.
  20. The club were. However "utterly shit" we were last season, we finished eleven places higher in the league than Middlesbrough, we bought one of their best players and spent lots of money on others. I don't get why they get to be considered for promotion and we don't.

I'm not sure there's even one player that is obviously a Will Still picked player. Nathan Jones was there only for a few weeks but even he still managed to buy James Bree. I am not sure who Still's picks are, his Telfer/Williams, his Downes/Manning etc etc etc.

He's not up to it. Maybe its because his brothers aren't here but either way the job is too big for him. The club will not be brave enough to get rid now, and either way the play offs are still viable in January whatever happens so they will wait. But, we've fucked it on recruitment, again. .

  25. Can he play up front?
