The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.

"As far as I am aware" is standard issue Johnson bullshit. Just one layer of a lie that eventually gets peeled back and back There were absolutely no parties, I've been told there were no parties, I've just found out about the parties and I am furious, I was at the parties but didn't realise it was a party, I'm sorry I was at a party, etc etc etc -
We don't need to give either of them game time to prepare for them to maybe sit on the bench for a league cup match. Its not about being fair, we're not running a youth club team.

Rishi shat the bed there. Jittery, too clever and just all over the shop. Truss just had to stay calm and she did. -

Er, yeah. It was an audience of Conservative voters. Only Tory members can vote in it, so pointless to have Labour or other supporters there. -
Except people linked Ralph "over playing" him with his injury. As soon as he got injured people on here were giving it the "see? see? he should have been rested more" stuff.

Agree with this. We are on track to be in the worst six teams in the league yet again, and right now feels to me we are closer to the worst three that we were even last season. That Christmas purple patch seems so far away now. Can these kids handle it? A bunch of young kids on the back of four morale-sapping defeats early in the season and we could be a club in tailspin. It's a lovely experiment to go for all this potential and youth but we fans could get to the world cup break collectively reflecting on how anyone thought that it could possibly work in the 2022 Premier League. A big gamble.

Hardly a disastrous signing. 28 goals in his previous season in a league more competitive that played in by any of the players we've signed this summer. Let's see if we sign anyone with a comparable goal record this year. Last season we needed a goalscorer and he was one. Is one.

Sounds unlikely. £10m with £20m of staggered add-ons maybe (and if we get close to those add ons we'd be selling up anyway).

New Saints reporter for The Athletic (Jacob Tanswell)

Update for all Carl Anka super fans. He's in the Beano this week (his mate Marcus Rashford is celebrity guest editor). They've turned Carl into a character with his own strip. This kind of thing never happened to Graham Hiley. -

I think this is correct on all fronts. I think the only outstanding twist is that Badenoch joins up with Sunak (think Redwood/Ken Clarke from many years ago). This has been presented by some insiders as Gove's masterplan all along. No idea if it will actually play out like that (she did lay into him in the ITV debate) or even if it does whether it will work. Truss would be unspeakable but probably great news for Labour.

I wish we were Burnley.

There aren't any. Put his name in Twitter and there lots of posts with rumours linking him with Brentford and Leicester and then a handful of Saints fan accounts saying they'd like him. Also Leicester and Brentford fan accounts saying they'd like him.

We all got told to work from home today and tomorrow so I will be on the laptop in the garden all day. Well until about two o'clock when I fully expect our shed to catch fire.

Look, its obviously just a mild flu. Oh sorry wrong thread.

Lose today and we can forget about staying up this season.

I won't be making any lifestyle changes whatsoever until I hear Matthew Le Tissier's views on the subject.

I remember it as The Echo basically reported it as "this is our new club crest to go on shirts", not may be, will be. And it was dreadful. Like clip art of the old The Saint TV show logo that you might see on the side of a white van going round Portswood. Then a bit of protest and quietly dropped. Edit: Sorry, I just remembered he had a fucking scarf for arms.

Theresa May and Boris Johnson are creating an exciting new trend, which was pretty rare/non-existent until May did it. They both came to power outside of an election, and lost power outside of an election, but still managed to lead their party to an election in the middle of it. Never really happened before and now two in a row. -

I think Heath in the 1970s. Never in my lifetime and I've been voting since 97. -
I wish we were Nottingham Forest.

Too right. We should only sign players who have been Saints fans since childhood and would actively refuse to consider playing for any other club. We definitely don't want anyone with any ambition to play for the biggest clubs in the world.
