He was manager for the entire season - so it's misleading to say he came in and saved us from relegation. He took over a team that had finished 10th the season before.

I think if the Ref had given it VAR wouldn't have overturned it. And I think the ref didn't give it because it just looked like a clumsy mess so there must have been a foul. Probably more plausible in that split second than "yep, their keeper has just dropped it and backheeled it into his own net".

Well, today's point puts us on 21 points halfway through the season. So the good news is we don't even need to be as "good" as that in the second half of the season to stay up. Staying up is about doing just enough and I think we will do just enough.

Waiting for John McGinn to confirm.

If that gets refused they'll just keep licking each other to get enough positive tests to get out of Sunday. We'll end up playing them in fucking April.

Teamwork.

Put the league table up or something.

Keep the winning momentum going? One win in seven?

Shane Long is starting so that means goals goals goals.

They need an incredibly solid second half of the season - 25 in 19 is lower mid table form - around what Villa and Leicester are doing now. Difficult but not impossible. If they get some points from those next four they will start to believe and then just hold on and hope for a stunning end of season run. We need to hope that pressure to win these next few will be too much for a squad that is, right now, not good enough. It's really important that we beat them. Because them staying up could be at the expense of us.

A point to build on yesterday's Boxing Day win would be a fantastic result going into the Newcastle match. And at least we're not playing a team who have engineered a little Covid holiday for themselves. They're as fresh/not fresh as we are. If we can go into that game on 21 points with Newcastle still on 10 there is going to be huge pressure on Howe. And yes I do want Man U ro win today.

I felt a little bit culled Christmas night but I'm okay now 👌

There's lots of goals to see on tonight's Boxing Day Match of The Day, covering all the games played today, Boxing Day. Looking forward to it, a great way to round off Boxing Day.
-
As long as we don't take the lead, we'd basically win every game.

This.

Great result and a great way to enjoy Boxing Day which is today. Gave away the lead twice and still won: insane.

Second half feels as inevitable as a turkey sandwich on Boxing Day.

It's a shame so many Boxing Day games have been called off because it's always one of the highlights of the year, the Boxing Day games played today, which is Boxing Day. I love Boxing Day. Bring on today's Boxing Day games. Also we won't win. But a point would be nice.

People still take a dump on Christmas Day. Generally without friends and family surrounding you.

Feels unlikely that any Premier League club would be sold for not a lot more than one years worth of TV money.

On the Virgin box I put BBC wales on (864) last night to check and it was broadcasting (basically the same film as normal BBC 1).....I know what you mean about BBC Sounds which will just not broadcast some matches if they don't have the online rights. But I would think in this case it will be fine. It'll be on. Yaki da.

It appears only on GiveMeSport which is just churning out clickbait in the style of "xxxxx could be a great signing for....". They do that in various combinations for loads of clubs and players over and over again. If you Google Dele Alli plus any other club and there are similar stories: far more rumours for other clubs like West Ham, Newcastle, Everton and in far more sources. Anyone looking at the rumour mill and thinking that Dele Alli to Southampton "keeps coming up" is deluded. We're barely in the top five clubs linked to him.

Oh, that's good news. Channel 864 on Virgin.

The United Kingdom and the Death of Boris Johnson as we know it.
