Well, that's annoying. Not on BBC Sounds Solent either (as expected).
-
No idea who they have but if they get dumped out of the Carabau Cup early then they've got a serious game-time problem. They really need a few cup games.
-
Is this the season we cannot rely on 3 other teams to be worse than us?

Jesus, this is getting earlier and earlier. -
I think it is pretty easy to acknowledge the possibility that our next manager might be this guy, without going off on one to anyone else who thinks there may be other better options when the time comes. Three games in, how this new guy is already seen as an unstoppable combination of Jose Mourhino and the entire Liverpool boot room by some nutcase on here, god only knows. Knee jerk writing people off is not great but knee-jerk hero worship is equally baffling.
-
So you've now got to saying Ralph Hasenhuttl is our Bill Shankly? You're a fruitloop mate.
-
Personally I am disappointed we recruited Hasenhuttl at all. We should have given the job to Mauricio Pellegrino's assistant when we had the chance. Everyone who have said who's this guy and he would have proved them all wrong because Jose Mourhino or something.
-
Honestly this is drivel. You can say "he could be the next Mourhino" about anyone. You might as well say every player we ever sign or buy is the second coming of John Cruyff or Maradona. Utterly meaningless. Askins got his big break in League One, he was not plucked from Scunthorpe Physio room into the Premier League. I repeat - you seem absolutely fine with Brighton going out and replacing their manager with an experienced proven manager with a track record in a European league and the Championship. But you object to the idea thatcwe do the same. After all, if there are all these future Mourhinos everywhere then there's no risk, right? Surely the more people say "who's he?" then the better he'll be, right?
-
Absolutely no idea what point you are trying to make here. In Adkins we went out and just hired a guy with two promotions under his belt with the task to get us promoted from the same league. Nothing like us promoting from within, if we did then we should have given Wally Downes the job. Brighton didn't promote Hughton's assistant, they went out and hired a replacement with experience. Why is recruiting from outside OK for Brighton but not for us? And then the obligatory Mourhino comparison. Funny really because I thought Chelsea went and hired the worlds hottest manager who had just won the Champions League with a club that really had no right to. I don't remember them hiring an "interpreter". As the previous poster said, Frank has established himself in this league but got promoted into it. I am not convinced we should just immediately appoint the second in command based on three games into a season. I don't think expressing that opinion justifies replies where people compare our two months into the job assistant manager with Koeman, Mourhino and Potter based on absolutely nothing at all. Absolutely lazy thinking.

If that's the line up then we're looking at least four or five nil no problem
-
Jesus wept. The "seriously but not literally" routine was old news back in 2017. You're still parroting that "observation" 5 years, an entire new election and riots in the Capitol later?

George Harrison was 26 when the The Beatles split up.

I had a death row pardon two minutes too late.
-
Personally I'm one of the doom merchants who has already written him off.

8 goals in 46 games last season. Let's bring this guy in, he means gols gols gols
-
Doesn't feel like a fight we can win.

The current Toon squad all live in ex-council maisonettes just outside Garforth I've heard.
-
Anyone who thinks Newcastle is a shithole vs Southampton needs to get out more. Southampton is a fucking toilet lads. The main advantage for potential players for us is they can live somewhere else very easily which is not quite as true for the North East (although some still commute regardless).

This rumour is absolutely snowballing and no mistake
-
Where is this "half decent rumour"? Just listed with loads of other clubs as a maybe they're interested. Pretty obvious this morning there was nothing in this whatsoever. If ever there was a rumour that just needed to stay on the standard Transfer Window thread, this was it.
-
What information has come to light that warrants this level of forum hype? From what I can see he's just as likely to go to Leeds or Everton. And when I say just as likely, I mean we rarely win a transfer race as soon as any other club becomes seriously involved. I don't see rumours "snowballing" I just see us listed with other clubs, one of which he will sign for instead of us.
-
Well, it's still nil nil.
-
I'm looking forward to the "well it's still nil nil" optimism at half time.
-
Potter has finished above Saints and Ralph an entire one time. Their record transfer fee is an astonishing and unimaginable for Saints twenty million pounds. Yes, they look okay for another season but the way people carry on you'd think they are on an unstoppable march to Europe forever now.
-
Quite. Also, it is an incredibly "entitled" opinion to describe a club that have been in the top flight consistently for the best part of 50 odd years as "shit all my life". Talk about taking things for granted.

If Forest go down then no one can say they haven't had a decent crack at it. If we stay up we'll have done it, yet again, on scraping together the absolute barest of bare minimums.
