  1. And if you add Chris Wood into that, who would have been at Burnley player at the time, thats 5 off the bat who would unquestionably make our match day squad significantly better than it is now. Unless you're going to make out Long and Walcott and Valery and Caballero are all unquestionably better. For someone doing the "you're wrong, move on" routine it really looks like (yet again) he's the one who is wrong.
  2. Except the easiest thing by far is for all these fans that want to be together and away from the away fans to move themselves to a different part of the ground. Just change seats. No excuses. No need for the police, or the club or anyone to do anything, whatsoever. That bit is definitely not "beyond the wit of man" but isn't it funny it never seems to be proposed as a solution by people who just want somebody else to do the work?
  3. I agree. Ralph should have definitely played and also definitely rested our best players today.
  4. The total required to stay up is going to be absolutely pitiful this year.
  5. I imagine this might gain some support on here
  6. Best FA Cup fourth round penalties victory at Old Trafford since 1992.
  7. Lovely stuff
  8. Let's get it round to the keepers taking them
  9. For every kid developed by Clifford, they'll be one thousand whose careers have been changed by Dave Bassett and Dennis Wise.
  10. What points have you raised to me that I am supposed to answer? All I can see is you completely misunderstanding what I've written.
  11. What the f**k are you on about now? All I am saying us there is nothing in this reply that justifies your explanation of it: The simple fact is the deal we have with Tino is significantly better than a loan. Because we own the player and can get money if we sell him on. On every single level it is not "no more than a loan". Bank balance, squad, whatever. All levels. That's it. It's clear neither you or Once_bitterne can actually grasp that, so spare me the "lack of human intelligence" routine.
  12. Except it's not clear what once_bitterne is getting at if that is the case. Is the impact positive (he's working hard to get in the Chelsea team) or negative (he's not fussed about Saints)? I think you might need to accept the guy doesn't really understand how buy-back works and how our deal is structured.
  13. I think it can only help that Boris sends his loyal MPs scuttling out to do the "he's clearing out the trash, good riddance to bad rubbish, this is leadership getting shot of this lot" routine. Because slagging off the people that know exactly what was said and done in relation to parties (and everything else) is clearly a strategy that definitely cannot backfire further down the line.
  14. Steve Bruce promoted while Eddie goes down would be the stuff of dreams.
  15. He's backed down on his Starmer comments now the big old fanny Here's what he actually said in the HOC: [He] "spent most of his time prosecuting journalists and failing to prosecute Jimmy Savile" So obviously he was explicitly talking about Starmer's personal involvement (or lack of). But he's a habitual serial liar and he lives his own truth. I don't think he ever thinks he's lying. It will get him in the end (it has got him in the end already in several jobs). But mission accomplished for giving credence to a lovely big smear. It'll be back come election time.
  16. 100%. Sounds like massively overblown story "we tried we really tried" for a Newcastle audience (similar to the stories we've heard for years and years on February 1st or September 1st).
  17. I think whatever the topic or whatever the thread, you can be relied upon to write some absolute drivel about it.
  18. The second one. Which is why it makes zero financial sense. You need to spend millions retro fitting a part of the stadium with no increase in capacity and in an area where customers might expect to pay less not more. So I can't imagine Saints falling over themselves to do it because there's not a huge amount in it for them. Apart from preventing a load of earache at fans forums if they don't do it. (And then earache in subsequent years as to why standing is no cheaper than seats).
  19. "Labour just talking down our country again". That's why its not really worth correcting: the attack lines on low growth, high taxes were far more effective.
  20. I see that Alli and Lampard's first league game is away at Newcastle so a perfect time for a bit of new-manager bounce and new-lease-of-life player to shine.
  21. I can only echo what others have already said. Thoughts with you and your family.
  22. Thats not really chicken-and-egg. If your starting position is to reduce ticket prices, therefore reducing revenue and at the same time spend millions on expanding the stadium then you haven’t actually got a coherent case for expanding the stadium.
  23. Sold out the whole stadium or have we limited it? If it is whole ground that's pretty decent going, albeit I know tickets were cheap.
  24. Don't put it past the cheeky gits to claim the win as a sign that the public have moved on and still support the government's agenda etc.
