Not known as a Saints expert but he's pretty authorative in general. He's not a "lazy journalist just making it all up etc" anyway.
-
At least it puts right the nauseating rubbish that came out when he got the job. Including some of this forum that had swallowed the idea that he was some wonder manager in the making, next stop Anfield. Ridiculous. He'd basically achieved something that the likes of Neil Lennon had achieved. He's clearly out of his depth and not living up to the celebrity hype. Let's hope it goes on a few months more so Villa become a proper relegation threatened club.
-
Too right. That's your job after all.
-
I imagine everyone on the Forest forums all agreed back at the start of the summer that the club needed, bare minimum, was to sign three left backs. So their fans must be delighted.
-
Absolutely no idea, sorry.
-
He's probably already expressed an interest in Wolves, or Mendes has already been and wrapped stuff up at the players end. The club agreeing a fee these days is not necessarily the start of the process, it's the end. They're going public on trying to get more money out of Wolves probably because that is where he wants to go. It's someone else we're after.

Lycano has gone up front so that means goals goals goals.

Not sure why you would take Aribo and Djenpo off at one nil down with a good few mins to play.
-
Surely someone called Armstrong is destined to score for us today.
-
Nice first half. Well done Saints.

ABK needs to do some finishing training with our strike...actually forget it

Sooooo, you had much interest from other clubs in young Guido, then? Mr Reed, let's be serious here. This is a lad scoring a goal in every other game. There are clubs ringing us every single day. It's £20m today but tomorrow? Could be double. Hang on I have a phone call coming from, er, Italy, right now. Look Mr Reed, do you want me to take that call?

One thing is for certain. When Sept 1st rolls around and Ralph and Semmens gets its excuses in - we tried but the market is challenging, people don't understand how difficult it is to do deals etc etc etc - when they get their reasons in for why we couldn't sign a striker or a full back.. ..you can absolutely guarantee that Villa (or Leicester) will not experience that with us and Bednarek. We'll make sure that happens no problem. Smooth as you like. Hitch free. Because the challenges of the transfer market never stop us flogging useful members of the squad when the chance comes. We will never put another club through what we end up going through. The market is difficult and challenging except when its SFC selling then its red-carpet time.

I've already said I don't think we will get this guy. But worth thinking for a minute what the response would be if that kind of headline was about one of our players. At least two thirds of this forum would be reading it as proof that the player was for sale and leaving, and we were just into price negotiation.
-
That's him - thanks both. I was going to Google him but I could not begin to start with what search terms to use. "Les Reed Transfer Failures" would have returned too many options.

This Ramos stuff feels in the same ball park as that winger/attacker we nearly got from Russia a few years ago. Lots of wailing that we couldn't quite get it done but we tried etc etc. Never felt that real a prospect. Turned out to be a wrongun if I remember right. Someone will remember his name. Anyway, this is a similar level. We're not getting this kid.

They didn't have the pressure of their home fans when they played Brentford and got gubbed four- none. Its very easy to foresee a scenario where this United team of preening egos can get motivated for a big global event fixture vs Liverpool but less so for a routine game against much lower profile opposition. Will be ridiculous to assume that United have fixed all their problems after that one win. No doubt if Liverpool had won you'd be on here saying United would be fired up to bounce back against us and with a point to prove and therefore we are going to lose sad face emoji etc etc. We've been doing comparatively better against "bigger" opposition in recent times so I am optimistic we may have the required level of focus.

If we let Bednarek (at worst a decent Premier League back up) and Romeu both leave in this window then we can very much claim to be the diametric opposite to Nottingham Forest.
-
Feels like a suicidal move to me, especially in this new world of five subs. Crazy to let our most experienced and reliable player go on the back of signing and 18 year old.

Ah - go to the home page and navigate to a slightly different link to normal..
