  1. The next big day on this forum will be the meltdown on here when Lee Carsley is presented to the media as the new Wolves / Leicester / Palace manager. Still, Sport Republic know best.
  2. We've got a back five with three full England internationals. Russell Martin should be doing better.
  3. Yes you are missing something. It's pretty pointless to try and explain it but it's not a zero sum game, there's no linear relationship between that goes down so that goes up instead. Trade never works like that and it never will. The UK voted for Brexit, the British people voted to get Brexit done in 2019. If you voted for both of those things, it's on you. More broadly this shit show is on all of us because ots what "we" wanted. You were pretty fucking gleeful about it when you chose to be.
  4. That's a bloody big assumption. Trade is not a zero-sum game in the way you're making out. Nope. Britain voted for separation in 2016, and then the barriers that have gone up that Britain voted for in 2019. Pretty sure you were mad keen on all of it.
  5. The issue was always, always, lack of resource allocated to border control / immigration processing. Anyone going beyond the bullshit reporting and hysteria knew that. The Conservatives tried to make it a wedge issue for easy votes from racists, plus it gave them the simplest argument on why all the public services had gone to shit on their watch - blame the immigrants. Rwanda was a stunt policy designed to be stopped by legal challenge so that they never had to do that either. Look at the evil establishment lawyers/judges stopping us. Honest we tried we did - blame the immigrants and also blame the lefty lawyers. It was a totem project that was still avoidance of the real issue - processing the fucking claims. Cooper comes in and oh look we start processing claims which results in deportations. It's called trying to run an actual government rather than a glorified press office / opinion column.
  6. More bad luck for the bad luckiest team what there has ever been in the history of the Premier League.
  7. It's very easy to see those Klopp comments as "if this lot get promoted under this guy, they're fucked".
  8. Utter drivel. We were in the Premier League for a decade before last season. We're not some plucky underdog team who have never played at that level.
  9. What does this drivel even mean.
  10. I personally enjoyed the lecture that the three promoted clubs are guaranteed to be relegated every season forever as of now, and that we need to have multiple players on 4 year £100k a week contract to stand the remotest chance of staying up.
  11. The premise is bullshit. There's never a scenario where staying down another year is better than just getting promoted straight away. The fact that the club bought players for the wrong division and therefore guaranteed our relegation before we started is 100% their fuck up.
  12. Why would they be "annoyed" that we got promoted? If they didn’t want go up at all why did we bother signing players like Downes and Fraser etc etc, why didn't we just flog KWP and Che in the summer of '23. If the plan was to finish mid table Championship they could have saved a fortune. Probably we could have just given the full time job to Selles. Why employ Jason Wilcox? What you're saying makes zero sense.
  13. Look, there's still about 45 years to go before we can judge how terrific it has been for the UK. Jacob Rees-Mogg told us to be patient.
  14. Of course he did such a brilliant job at Sunderland and especially Ipswich whose players who we guess were "not taking the p in training" resulted in them achieving nothing and being in the Championship relegation zone when he was sacked. But yeah, he'd sort everything out and no mistake.
  15. Maybe. He signed a four year contract with a team he would have a reasonable idea would be in this exact situation. His long contract means we won't be flogging him cheap, so someone is going to have to stump up some cash to get him out. With Ronnie Edwards already in the building maybe it would be good business if Forest give us £35m for him. But yeah if your starting point is everyone good will leave then fill your boots but that has absolutely nothing whatsoever with THB giving some generic interview quotes or getting picked for England at all.
  16. He's hardly going to say "no I just want to play in these couple of games and that's me done for England", is he. Let's see how much Tuchel is interested in selecting him before everyone gets too carried away.
  17. I'm hearing it is going to be Gary Lineker.
  18. I think we would represent a very good opportunity for someone like Ruud Van Nistelrooy to manage in the Premier League. Even if he finishes third bottom he could say he'd improved us, if he has belief in his abilities he'd go for that.

Gao recruited one manager, Ralph, who is ten times better than anyone SR have recruited.
  20. He wasn't worse than Russell Martin. His record stands up against him. We're bottom of the league.
  21. Up in the sky where he wanted his football to be played.
  22. Alan Ball and the greatest MLT era in our history no thank you very much because 'chopping and changing never works'. Branfoot should have been given a 10 year contract IMO. He would have turned into Alex Ferguson for sure.
  23. But Russell Martin was an improvement on Selles or do you not think so? I don't understand this argument that every new manager is always worse than the one he replaces, and that idea in itself is a reason to stay with the shit manager we have. We're bottom of the league on one win and seven goals. Honestly there is no scenario where things get worse.
  24. Of course he should go but he's not going to. The "chopping and changing managers never ever works" brigade on here are going to get their dream. We won't chop and change so lets see how fantastically successful that will be.
  25. I think you are missing the very real scenario that Lord Duckhunter is indeed an astronaut.
