Of course you don't have an agenda. This is the first time McCarthy has held down a place in the top flight. He's been a perennial back up at this level, a nearly man. He's taken his chance and all credit to him, the managers that have supported him and the goalkeeping coaches. Brilliant stuff Dave Watson, he should be rightly proud of his excellent work.

Still of the belief that we have good players that under a half decent manager will perform well, certainly better than 17th. We now have someone who at least is a half decent manager. I am hoping for and expecting a Hughes renaissance next season and we will be back challenging 7th/8th. And a cup run please.

Announcing a major signing/appointment late at night to fu ck the Echo over was something that the tiny little Italian did with pretty much every single announcement of his tenure.
 -
Interesting absence of Les in the announcement statement. He had quotes at the ready for the French one and that other one from last summer.
 -
Took too long which does not bode well for the transfer window because it looks like yet another summer of fannying about. All the best Mark and team.

Indeed. The self-regarding webforum ITK gurus reach new heights of utter bellendery.

You've got to say that's masterful.

MLG has had some kind of seizure and collapsed onto his keyboard. Get help.

If it wasn't for Eko I wouldn't even know Mark Hughes was in the frame to be our manager. He's come on here as a long standing and very well connected Saints fan, stuck his neck out with info that has proved to be absolutely spot on correct and all he's getting is relentless dog's abuse. Personally I hope this continues for a very long time.

	Don't tell us yet, I'll do a sweepstake. https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=kenya+cities&rlz=1C1GGRV_enNL796NL796&oq=kenya+cities&aqs=chrome..69i57.2861j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

Make absolutely no mistake, he wanted someone to dig that out. All part of the fun.

Maybe so but Mark Hughes is not going to get a job better than the bottom third of the Prem. And at this point I am not prepared to accept that the team that burned nineteen million quid on Carillo is unable to put a package together that would match up to a management role at that level at least. ie we can match what, say, Bournemouth or Huddersfield or Palace might put down. We'll see but the track record is not good for me to give the current management any benefit of any doubt.

It's not that though. We've said he fits like a glove but still take longer than WHU and Stoke take to sack, source and announce a manager. It doesn't bode well because it's the same behaviours that saw us balls up signing centre backs and attackers in recent windows and appoint terrible managers. I agree with you re Hughes - his stock ain't that high and he won't get a better job in England this summer, he can drop to the Championship or just wait until soneone (Neil Warnock) is sacked. Which is why our current inertia is baffling. We'll be in a competitive field of one with a manager whose current salary we already know and we still can't do it. At some point one has accept that the club is run by imbeciles.
 -
Why do we need a third kit against Spurs and Fulham if our away kit is Yellow?
 -
I'd like to assume the club had already worked out a contingency in whether we stayed up or not, in that Hughes would have been a fine candidate if we'd have gone down anyway. Plus, once the Swansea game was done they just needed to firm up plan A. Really then they could have got this done by the Monday/Tuesday after Man City. For the situation we are/were in, the "these things take time" argument really is utter horsesh it.
 -
	Your impression is incorrect.
 -
Until I hear confirmation from Sub-Saharan Africa I'm taking nothing for granted.
 -
Not sure how much media content is required for a manager who basically is already our manager.
 -
He hasn't got that much power. He can take this job or sit around waiting for Neil Warnock to get sacked. Despite our general uselessness this is still a good job and I'm sure Hughes wants it.
 -
Amen brother. I know some don't want to hear it but I couldn't give a flying fu ck that we're not in the Champions League and like you say we never will be. I want us to win a cup and three Wembley trips in less than a decade has been great. Europa, all for it, suits us. We are what we are and I love Saints for it.
