  1. Not a great fan of Guido but I did enjoy this take down of the utter cretin that is Owen Jones. https://order-order.com/2018/05/04/humiliation-owen-jones-unseat-tories-vanity-campaign/ Shambles of a performance last night from Labour. They lost control of my city Derby, an industrial middle England, heartland city with a long legacy of Labour support, what with its links to heavy industry, manufacturing and the ex-mining communities up the road. And Corbyn visited during the campaign. And they effing lost it. What a fu cking joke of a party. Conservative central office must love Corbyn more than Owen Jones does. Electoral gold dust for them.
  2. Jelle Van Damme.
  3. I think we have to assume Swansea will get something out of Bournemouth. Desperately need something out of the Everton game to stay in touch. If Swansea win on Saturday that's huge pressure on us.
  4. Exquisite.
  5. Everton have jack to play for, and we have to hope there's enough players in the squad who might want to see the back of fat Sam. If we score early (yeah, I know) then the atmosphere might sour because the fan base certainly want to see the back of fat Sam. It isn't a bad time to try and break our Goodison hoodoo.
  6. Swansea form not so hot - no wins in 6 and just three points from those games. New manager bounce has gone anyway. Beat them and we'll be looking very good. Beat Everton and get to Wales with points in the bag though.
  7. Not quite. You post utter sh it and just call me CB Fly.
  8. Lemina was appalling in a cup semi final under Hughes management.
  9. Or, two players (Lemina especially) who have been utterly woeful recently have finally put a shift in.
  10. What we're up against is Bournemouth rolling over against Swansea before we even kick off.
  11. I thought it was all an exercise in futility?

Do world class managers settle for a top ten finish and then switch off, job done? I'd always associate world class managers with having a little bit more drive than that.

I've no doubt Vardy was playing out of his skin for a manager he worships like some kind of god.
  14. For a result that is utterly irrelevant to us staying up or not?
  15. Drab draw, or a flattering victory which becomes meaningless when other results go against us.
  16. Adkins make barely even cryptic comments about his own job security post-match. It was obvious that day that he wouldn't last long in the Prem and so it proved. Match was live on BBC1 too. It's a shame the beeb haven't got that little TV deal next season.
  17. Has been interesting to follow the lunatics on twitter. The secret barrister has been doing fantastic work.
  18. Isn't it about time for someone to remind us that people wrote off Sadio Mane to begin with?
  19. Matt Targett isn't better than Ryan Betrand who will be challenging for a starting position at the world cup. You'll have to remind me of the players we have spent multiple millions on to play reserve left back. I thought we just had Sam McQueen as back up. Who else is on loan who is better than our first team? We are currently rubbish but it ain't because we have got some army of world beaters playing in loan elsewhere.
  20. The idea that Koeman leaving us to go to Everton is entirely "Les Reed's decision" is just horsesh it. Koeman was offered a pay rise to stay, he refused and off he went. Not letting Koeman go into the final year of his contract without extension was the correct decision regardless of Puel or Pellegrino. People like you would be moaning like f uck if we'd done that and grizzling about Les's decision to not try and tie him down. But you're right, we'll never know but my advice is in those situations don't assume everything thing would have been better, which us what you seem to be doing. Maybe reference Koeman's second season with Everton which was a bloody car crash. Something people like you were not predicting this time last year. Most were saying how Everton were going to invest and build and grow and grow and build and invest and be be challenging for the top six.
  21. We were never ever going to let Koeman do that, quite rightly. Not least because we would have had an entire season of fans moaning about "why didn't clueless Reed tie down Koeman earlier we knew his contract was running down etc etc". Or, if the season went badly they'd blame Reed for not extending Koemans deal so the club was allowed to drift and lacked leadership etc etc. Letting Koeman go into the final year entirely on his terms would have been a disaster. And anyway he would have gone to Everton anyway for the money. And, he did.
  22. Yes it does. Only the truly unhinged Nordic nutcase can read an article like that and decide that it's a Les Reed puff piece based on a throwaway line about how we used to be good at transfers (spoiler alert: we did used to be good at transfers). No one is reading that article and thinking, ain't that Les Reed brilliant.
  23. Quite a lot of unnecessary fuss really. It's not like the FA have always owned it - they didn't own it when Euro 96 was on, let alone when world cup 66 was on. At the end of the day it's just a venue and perfectly normal for that to be owned by a private business. The FA Cup final will still be there as will everything else because, funnily enough, what venues want is events to put on.

They haven't been particularly ambitious in their managerial appointments - promote the assistant, then Puel. Ranieiri worked but he wasn't a blue-chip appointment, most people thought they were mad. It certainly wasn't the equivalent of recruiting Emery for example. Leicester have done well on player retention, that's for sure.
  25. You actually think we're going to get to 39 points? Jesus wept.
