  1. Why are you asking this question, then? If you have "no problem" with any number, why are you asking people on a football forum to come up with a number? Seems odd. You make a wonderful case for lots more red tape stopping British businesses making money but as my core point in my previous post suggested it, any post-Brexit UK government won't be going for it. As you say in your own post, you have problem with whatever number that the UK needs. No problem. That's good because that's what you'll get. No problem.
  2. It's going to break your heart I know but the big businesses, corporate lobby groups and economists that will still run the show post-Brexit as they do now, will very easily influence the government to maintain this flow of labour into the country because it makes them money. There are prominent people on the Brexit side making this point now - I've heard senior farming Leavers, the guy from Wetherspoons, various other business talking heads. It's also why the official vote leave campaign don't really want to talk about it, they'd rather talk about trade and intangible guff about sovereignty. The ex mayor of London knows exactly how his city is built on cheap labour. The clues are there. There ain't no drawbridge coming up post Brexit sunshine. Newsflash: Politicians are full of it.
  3. You're only saying that because he's not white or something. If he was blond and looked like Clasie you'd say it was terrible news.
  4. This. Clubs need to be freed up to be able to play in Premier League mini-tournaments in partner cities in Malaysia and the UAE. Putting in a six week break from January is perfect timing for this. Sh it-canning replays, the league cup and the bottom four teams can't happen soon enough if we're going to see any of the progress us fans really want. I mean, Saints still haven't got a Korean snackfood brand sponsoring them. We're getting left behind.
  5. You're talking about two completely different scenarios. We got a great price for Lallana, once he made it clear he wanted to go, we screwed Liverpool as much as we could. We got a reasonable price for Clyne as he had a year left. We will get a hefty fee for Mane if he goes this season and a decent one if he goes next year. I would think we will try and keep him one more year as he is worth more to us for one more season than the difference in fees (probably ten million quid) between this year and next.
  6. I remember when Cameron said this. He has argued the choice is “really quite simple”: “In favour of staying, it is in Britain’s geo-strategic interests to be pretty intimately engaged in the doings of a continent that has a grim 20th-century history, and whose agonies have caused millions of Britons to lose their lives.” Hang on, it wasn't Cameron. It was someone else.
  7. Don't be ridiculous - we vote out, we're out. I thought the whole point was we're-the-fifth-biggest-economy-in-the-etc-etc-etc. Out means out means out. We're not pis sing little Ireland. If we do vote out, that's it, we're out. The biggest challenges going forward will be a) Brexit politicans like Boris having to sell exactly the same levels of immigration to the public ("well, it is vital to the economy") and the likes of Farage finding some other bogeyman to blame all our problems on.
  8. If there one thing that I am sick of on this forum it is the universal hailing of Jordi Clasie. Can't anyone, just one person, say anything bad about him, ever?
  9. Boxing Day.
  10. Judging on the latest reported numbers, their wage bill isn't higher than ours anyway.
  11. You think every Premier League football club is able to file their accounts, and for them to be compiled into a central, published report in a national newspaper within a week and a half of the season ending? Okay then. You've never been the brightest on here, but well done on excelling yourself. To be clear, this is not stuff "everybody knows" - this is newly collated info and the Guardian tend to run this report about this time every season.
  12. Friday night football starts next season as well, so don't bank on too many 3pm Saturday kick offs this side of Christmas.
  13. We seem to have the ninth highest wage bill in the league according to that. A truly wonderful end to a simply delicious season.
  14. So you're saying the security services should spend as much time planning for a situation with a 5000-1 likelihood as much as they do for a, say, 10-1 likelihood. You think that is sensible?
  15. We will start building a new hospital every single week and still have enough free cash left over to build a new secondary school every week too. All this free money will be brilliant.
  16. I think we'd see some squealing on here if the global TV revenue really was distributed fairly to the clubs people actually want to watch.
  17. So you don't think anyone featured in this thread - Les Reed, SFC - are "ignoring their customers the whole time" but felt compelled to issue that advice anyway. Insightful stuff, and here's me thinking that post was utterly pointless. Anyway, it's nice to see you not being racist and homophobic on here.
  18. The only thing dodgy about those stories is the idea that he was ever going to Everton.
  19. Bizarre. Who are you talking to or about in this post? Who is advocating (look it up) ignoring their customers the whole time? Or, more succinctly, what are you going on about?
  20. What on earth are you going on about now??
  21. Not sure what's not fair about it. People want to watch some clubs more than others. At least we were on more than Norwich.
  22. He didnt criticise us for not spending big. He just said he had no sympathy and that we didn't have to sell. The quotes are very easy to find online. His quotes about us have been shoved back down his throat already - he got sacked and we finished above what was his team this season. We've won. It's over. He's now the manager of Celtic, a team that will definitely have to sell when the likes of us come calling. There's plenty to laugh at without making things up.
