  1. Except it very rarely happens with football managers. It does happen in the case of some kind of investigation (Dave Jones) and there's a similar thing when managers get sacked they will continue to be paid compensation but that stops if they get another job which is why you often see managers taking a break after a sacking. But gardening leave as you get with chief execs is not a thing in football. The other factor to consider is if we appoint another manager while RK is on gardening leave that could be interpreted as constructive dismissal/breach of contract as there is no good, objective reason for RK to be on gardening leave (ie he isn't ill/depressed/under investigation for historic abuse). Really can't see it.
  2. How can an article containing lots of equivocal phrases like "we understand that" and "it is believed that" be presented "as gospel"? How does that actually work?

    Euro 2016

We weren't awesome in our first match against the Swiss - we were pretty poor actually. And saying we were "utter ****e" tonight is ridiculous.

    Euro 2016

Wilshire - 24 and has played for one club - is a journeyman? Okay then. He was fine when he came on. We should have finished far better and Kane was poor.
  5. A fan of Manchester United, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea wouldn't need to come on a Southampton Football Club forum to list out all the reasons why his club is so big. That's a fact.

    Euro 2016

Proper kicking off in the stadium with Russian fans charging the English, according to Radio Five. Shame there's adverts on ITV.

    Or not.

    Euro 2016

And Lallana does the whole game. Blimey.
  9. Have Bournemouth got the right category academy to enter this new trophy? Because the Skate galacticos playing the AFCB kids would be far funnier than them playing us.

    Euro 2016

The lad has done well. A bit late-period Beckham at points running around trying to do everything but rather good. We should be at least one up by now. Russia awful.

    Euro 2016

    We will definitely win this.
  12. Yes. That's the only scenario where it is common in football. Would be staggered if we put Koeman on gardening leave. Would be difficult for all concerned.
  13. My utterly parochial EuroSaints fantasy league team paying off already. Just need Forster to score a hattrick tonight.
  14. I wasn't comparing Koeman with Adkins but your post was jolly fascinating. Thanks.
  15. Nigel Adkins walked out on Scu nthorpe to come to us, or does that not count?
  16. Germany need us more than we need them? You sure about that?
  17. That widely renowned loyal manager Steve Bruce. FFS.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-eu-referendum-36505735 The debate now completely jumps the shark here. Dyson is arguing as a positive the very thing the German car manufacturers will be banging on Angela's door to stop and the Leave campaign say will definitely not happen. Meanwhile the remain team are using the "he was wrong about the Euro" line against him. Brilliant.
  19. I was delighted when I heard this morning - you've earned your OBE and no mistake. Well done.
  20. Quite right. It will decided completely and entirely by the German car manufacturers banging on Merkel door.
  21. That idea is absolutely horrific. Group stages in the ruddy Johnstone's Paint Trophy? Not to mention the degrading spectacle of fine lower league clubs having to duke it out with the kids from Chelsea or Arsenal. Dreadful.
  22. ...and both Koeman brothers were a Pointless answer on BBC1 just now. Absolute c@#$s.
  23. Adkins fitted the job spec perfectly. And Poch did too. What a weird question.
  24. The seems utterly ludicrous. This would have been after one single year of the two of them working together as manager and assistant. In that scenario I would have no doubt Erwin would have given his brother his blessing to take one of the biggest jobs in world football and achieve the pinnicle of his career. Also, no way that wouldn't have made it to the newspapers in Holland or Spain or the UK.
  25. Completely. I wouldn't want to change a thing. Brilliant.
