Now we'd cost a fortune, and we would need hundreds of millions to take us to a Champions league spot, with a very high chance of not achieving that aim. The "headroom" potential of us now is miniscule, 5 years ago it was huge. There is not a queue of multi billionaires prepared to take on a pretty nondescript provincial club to those kind of heights. But I work in a UK enclave of a big old US Multinational, and that kind of phrasing and vernacular is pretty rife, not least in English colleagues.
