  1. Whatever. He's scoped out a load of nonsense as "making financial sense" and "not being as ridiculous as some are making out". You can get all semantic about it but if he didn't think it should or could happen then maybe just not bother discussing it at all.
  2. I think you'll find they do charge an extra couple of quid in the Emirates too. You'll notice they didn't spend that money on a stadium and then slash prices to League One levels, which is what our premium business brain is recommending.
  3. Twice as good as before? Really? Can't quite see it yet. We did well against Wigan for a half, but we've had equally good halves of football under Adkins. And we still let in two very sloppy goals. We haven't collapsed/imploded with the new manager, which was the main fear, but really I don't think you can say we're already twice as good under MP.
  4. The main difference is the yid thing is intrinsically linked to Spurs, and not just Arsenal fans but all London clubs (and other clubs) give them yid related stick. Saints and scummers is not quite the same. Fans of other clubs might sing "you're just a small town in portsmouth" but I can't recall any of them ever calling us "Scummers", except Pompey and wannabe Pompey-fans, hello Bournemouth. But as you say, let people sing it if they want to.
  5. They won't have a freaking clue what we would be singing about. And it doesn't really make sense considering Pompey's current plight and our current superiority, all a bit weird really, but hey, who cares. It's noise. I'm hopefully going to the Norwich game, and if they start singing it, I'll probably join in despite it being sh ite.
  6. Agree with this. I've lived and worked in various spots accross the midlands and work with people from all over. Never once have I heard anyone mention Saints=Scummers. Quite the opposite really - my two brothers and all my non-forum Saints supporting friends call Pompey scum and never use the Skate thing. My bros both think the Skate name is lame as fu ck and not actually "real". They're right. It's just some toss from the Ugly Inside fanzine which has stuck on webforums and now journos use it. Pompey=Scum. So, Skates is bulls hit, like no one really calls Sunderland "the black cats" except reporters. Anyway, scummers is complete generic term. Ask Watford/Luton fans.
  7. Top ten maybe. Can't see him scoring another eighty. If we remain in the Prem that would take him at least four full seasons. Probably five or six. Still a Saints legend to me and the hero of this generation. Lallana, Ramires and the rest have to go some to match up.
  8. You're not wrong. West Ham are staying up. Just like Man United.
  9. Really sad news. I love Five Live and he was one of the many voices of knowledge and enthusiasm that really make that station. And gone at fifty. Terrible stuff.
  10. West Ham are closing in on Liverpool, not worried about us. After all, they're only six points behind which is suddenly insignificant in your little world.
  11. 13 from 13 for me. About enough to finish fourth/fifth bottom this season. No idea where the points will come from, suffice to say 3 more wins and four draws, leaving us able to afford six more defeats. Thats a heck of a lot more than QPR can afford.
  12. LOL. League table. Points. Get over it.
  13. Wrong. The general attitude to WHU in the media/pundits already is that West Ham are just a regular Prem team. Its Saints and Reading that are discussed in terms of "adjusting". Partly to do with the tiny matter of West Ham being in no danger of going down and miles in front of us in the league.
  14. The only thing right about this is your line about it all being nonsense. It certainly is that.
  15. Fantastic having it both ways there. So nice sarky remark about how the meeting won't help on the pitch (PS - no one ever said it would. No one. Ever.). But you serve it up with a side order of how MLT sticking a couple of lines on Twitter about Cortese being a knob is going to "harm the club". "Harm the club" in what way exactly?
  16. That was a given. Consistently, without fail, every single time, ART is wrong about pretty much everything.
  17. Seriously not that much to "drop" for a maximum hour long meeting. He's not frigging Obama. The Cult lives on.
  18. West Ham are getting dragged into it.
  19. Real shame. I saw the last hour and we destroyed them. Still, Wigan needed the win more.
  20. I want Villa to win now (as long as we do) because it totally screws Redknapp.
  21. Don't know, it seems that way anyway. Someone put up the table from this time last season and the points in and around the bottom three were about the same as this season, and 32 wasn't enough last season. So probably true.
  22. 32 sounds a bit tight but you're right it won't be 40. 37/8 will be plenty, could be as low as 34/5. Points per game will creep up as the season goes on. The teams at the bottom will face teams with not much to play for, or teams ahead of cup semi finals etc.
  23. If you want to hijack threads fine. If forum tw ats want do work up little mathmatical factoids they are free to but who cares. Funnily none of them have the guts to say they think West Ham will go down. So they are just ****ing in the wind. I think WHU are as likely as Man United to go down. I think you are a complete helmet. I'm right on both counts. See you in two days time when you dredge this sh it up again.
  24. If West Ham go down you have full right to crow. Until then you just look like a spanner. I think WHU won't go down. Gosh, how controversial.
