Quite. Bit silly to complain about squad depth with twelve million quid's worth of attacking talent on bench, two million quid striker farmed off on loan. Two million on a rookie keeper, with a CL keeper drafted in on top. Strengthened the midfield with Davis at, what, another 3 mil? Can't remember. And despite our lack of defensive steel we still found the time to spend millions on a full back and a centre back. We may have made mistakes but we invested in depth just like we all begged Mr Lowe to do. Well we've done it now and people still want more, as they always will.

We outspent most clubs in Europe, so had the funds to rectify this. I don't quite remember Norwich blowing nearly every club in Europe out of the water eighteen months ago but I am sure you do. I do not accept the "poor tiny League One underdog Southampton" sob story.

Where's your evidence that he meant that? Not signing Dawson could be seen as a cock up. That's reasonable opinion to hold.
