It was in the Sun weeks ago. At the top of this thread. You're kidding yourself if you think there are going to be many out-of-the-blue signings anyway. And quite frankly why do we want that? There are many bemusing things about the Cult Of Cortese but one of the weirdest is this feeling of "Oh isn't it brilliant no one knew about this signing until the official announcement at half ten at night on the club website. How fantastic that no one had any idea. This is the greatest way to run a football club I have ever known" What is good about that? Let's have some rumours, let's have some speculation, lets have some bloody interest. I don't want news about my football club to arrive entirely through sanitised spin heavy corporate guff official press releases. I know that is MLG's dreamworld but I think most normal humans are developed enough to deserve better than that.

Sibley working late on something exciting with "the media team". On twitter. Deffo Michael Owen IMO.
-
I listen to him on five live and think he's good. And very complimentary about Saints for the last two years.
-
Just as a final sign off, one more example of stultifying humourlessness. I can't keep up this level of being quite so breathtakingly unfunny much longer. So that's it for the Wes Tender character.
-
I've decided to retire the Wes Tender character after this post. I'm proud of him, even I can't believe I created someone with the killer combination of being so pompous and condesending while at the same time being embarrassingly clueless about pretty much everything. Cut that through with deadening, deadening humourlessness and you have quite a creation, up there with Alan Partridge and Arnold from Diff'rent Strokes. But I can tell he is sucking the life out of the forum, so I think time to say goodbye.

Sorry I forgot to log in as him, I mean me, this evening. Turkish is right on this, as usual. Well said.

That article was mentioned in the kit thread but I've only just read it. An appallingly piece of writing. Truly dreadful. No idea what his point is, rambles all over the place. He moans about the DVD but he's not a ST holder so wouldn't have even got it. What his point is I am none the wiser. WSC used to be good.
-
...that's how articles are written these days. Lets not forget our friends in the "its only a kit" gang...its only a football kit so why on earth should any journalist spend more than half an hour on it? Its only an article on only a football kit so who cares? I doubt you'd be dishing out a critique if the story was about how brilliant Saints are and everything.
-
What's shi te about it? Its a few lines long and perfectly accurate. They could have said that three quarters of Saints fans don't like it.
-
No one needs to shout on an internet poll. The pros have shouting the loudest anyway. Nice try though.
-
This thread, especially when compared to last year's equivalent. And the Echo poll, at 25% approval.
-
Opinion is not 50/50 though is it?
-
If the story was "all Saints fan adore their new kit" then that would be shi te journalism and completely untrue. That'll be the media conspiracy against Saints then....
-
Might be because I'm on Tapatalk but all I can see is Man U top with 125.63%. Then Arsenal second with 220.50%. Saints are 180.40%. On my planet those numbers don't mean jack.
-
Great work. Not a effing clue what the percentages mean, or what any of it means. But brilliant anyway.

24,000 would be a triumph and probably would lead to a sell out every single match next season. MLG will be wetting himself at the prospect and will no doubt suddenly decide he now has all the information required to say we are officially bigger than Everton. Lets see if we do it. 24,000 is a lot.

You can't beat a nine quid barber. Went myself today. Although it was a seven quid barber eight years ago. And it was four quid way back when I first went to Eddie Horn's in Shirley. Which is still there with the Toby Jugs everywhere even if EH isn't. He is possibly/probably dead.
-
So West Ham couldn't get taken over by billionaires then? West Ham with a fine tradition of developing youth, couldn't forge a team of starlets and finish fourth? And West Ham are bigger than Everton or something as well. And so on.
-
Can I take this opportunity to sinerely apologise for accusing you of hating red and white striped football jerseys. If I'd have known it would cut you up quite this much I would never have mentioned it.

I've not read the book but the previous thread in that book had Hoddle as the one who was "well up" for selling Beattie. Lowe less so. Be interesting to see quotes otherwise. And correct me if I'm wrong but if a manager wants a player out should the chairman overrule it? Because you'd have provably slate Lowe for that too. And, anyway, lets be clear - we did not sell Beattie for £3m, did we? I don't mind people slating Lowe but having a pop at his ability to get a great deal on outgoing transfers is just ridiculous. Slating him for transfers that didn't even happen is pretty harsh too.
-
Lowe could have sold Lallana but gave him a long term contract instead. Have absolutely no idea how much earlier Alex O-C could have been sold. He was sold at the earliest possible/realistic opportunity. I struggle to think of any player sold for a big fee by Lowe that didn't push for the move themselves. Maybe Kevin Davies but that was mental money and the right call. Lowe debates. You cannae beat em....!

A clue about what Cortese is telling transfer targets this summer...
CB Fry replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Intentionally not spending to create surplus money sounds like, err, precisely what Rupert Lowe did do. And, second err, its not surplus money that gets you to the Europa League. It's players. -
And twice as funny is you think people are really that bothered in the great scheme of things. It's a football kit mush. It's not important. Not sure why you think you have the monopoly on saying that. And almost as funny as some freak on a web forum trying to get me to answer some questions. Can you get through the day if I don't? Tell you what, I'll concede that you are definitely the winner. Well done.
-
What questions were these then? Apologies for not hanging on your every word. I am not doubting your Asda experience petal. I used to work in a virgin megastore. And a greengrocers. Go me. Just not sure why comparing/assessing old kits is far game but people saying our new on is shi te gets you jolly awfully upset. If it is all so unimportant why do you care about what others think?
