  1. Two points. Ten games into the season I expect ten sell outs. Everyone does. Won't mean a great deal unless we have, prior to that, smashed our season ticket record. And this stuff about "my neighbour in dorset" is just irrelevent. Any club of similar size can easily say the same thing. I know someone from Oakham in Leicestershire: Villa ST holder. Long old trip. So what. All clubs have fans in a wider vicinity. What it isn't is a great unlocker for significant growth.
  2. Yes, but aren't these people going to be accounted for in the upcoming leap from mid- late-20k gates and the 32k gates we're going to get next season? You're not seriously suggesting we need to spend millions on 6,7,10 thousand new seats entirely for random ex-Arsenal fans and day trippers?
  3. We haven't been in the Premier League for the last two years. I'm surprised you didn't know this.
  4. Also nice to see the old Easyjet pricing model banded about again. Absolutely stunning stuff. Anyone care to explain why Stelios Cortese hasn't bothered even trying it at all in the last two years with six to eight thousand spare seats to play with....?
  5. Funny. No one has said Derby has a bigger catchment area than Saints. Just the simple fact that Saints do NOT have now, never have had, or never will have a "unique" catchment area which is what you and your self proclaimed "intelligent posters" like to claim. You also like to peddle uninformed guff about cities with two clubs or with clubs close by could never compete with Saints on attendances despite the fact a four year old could compare the gates of Forest or Wednesday and see they match or beat SolentCityMegaSaints over the years and the decades. Derby has been down the road from Forest for like, what, ten years or more, and amazingly never stopped Derby having comparable (sometimes better) gates than MegaCatchmentSaints. But feel free to make stuff up to cover up how pathetically wrong you are.
  6. So we're back to being teeny tiny little Southampton again haven't we done well etc etc. That's a relief. I was getting a bit sick of the "we're bigger than Everton and how dare anyone say we can't be Champions league regulars" Glad that silliness is all done with. Anyway, on topic. Adkins I hope will get the chance to prove he is up to it but he might not get it unless he masterminds an upset or two in those big three ties. I think Cortese may not look past eight games. It won't be the fans on here that lose faith first.
  7. Not really. Six million quid is a "significant chunk" of any small-medium Premier league clubs transfer budget. You don't need to know anything about Saints finances to say that. Just a lod of grizzling divs on this forum with a persecution complex about the evil media.
  8. Nah. Leeds still bigger. Just like we've been bigger than Wigan the whole time.
  9. Yes he does. MLG thinks we are a bigger club than both Everton and Leeds.
  10. This quote alone is irrefutable evidence that you are an autistic fu ckjob.
  11. There's more than two in the "Man climbed Everest" brigade and they all deserved to be mocked. A little, but often.
  12. Well, I am superior.

Talksport peddling myth that Saggy took Spurs "from the brink of the Championship to the champions league". Errr, no. A couple of dodgy results and near bootom in August/September is NOT "on the brink of the championship". That Spurs team weren't ever going to be relegated.

There is no chance of him going to Spurs.

    Twitchy Gone!

He might do. Everton is a far bigger club than Saints. Being a fan of a club in childhood very rarely influences career decisions. If the offer comes, He might want to go, he might not. But him being a Liverpool fan will not be the reason.

Err, just realised this might actually make him more likely to be England manager in the next 12 months. If we bomb out over the next week, and then start badly in the qualifying the press campaign will be immense. Pretty unlikely, mainly because our Roy is going to do a pretty good job IMO. But this will put a bit of a pressure on him.

    Confirmed according to BBC.
  18. Eh? You seem to be confusing Reading with a city that is anywhere near us.
  19. I bet you're wrong.
  20. If wheeling out a now pretty bog standard bit of technology already used to flog mobile phones in cities all over the world is contemporary and relevent god help us. At least this is nicely counter intuitive and disruptive. And obviously that set is not the entire ceremony, more to come I'm sure. Won't stop the sneering but fu c k them.
  21. They might still do that. But to be honest that kind of thing is not that amazing - Sky did loads of that just for their coverage of the 2010 Election results. It's basically modern day fireworks. A bit of wooooo but not really groundbreaking.
  22. Obviously, it aint. There is a reason why the blockbusting transfer fees don't tend to feature goalies.
  23. Autistic as a freaking hatstand.
  24. I distinctly remember Mark Draper was in all the photoshoots when we signed Uwe Rosler. I thought it was a bit strange at the time but about ten days later we'd signed him. There must be loads of examples of potential signings being in photoshoots when other signings are announced. It's pretty commonplace.
  25. So Alpine laughing at others perceived triviality. LOL indeed.... Meanwhile, in the land of the level headed..... Jaw dropping stuff. Truly jaw dropping.
