  1. Who has come in at the eleventh hour and gazzumped us? Name the player, name the club. You seem to think it happens all the time so you must have a list. Still waiting. PS - you still can't say Buttner.
  2. Who has come in at the eleventh hour and gazzumped us? Which club, which player? And don't even think about saying Buttner.
  3. This weekend is traditionally associated with needing to wash the car. And weddings. And someone I know is having a BBQ. Oh and B&Q have got a sale on. If this was next week we'd have sold 50k for this easily.
  4. All sounds reasonable. Bologna absolutely desperate for someone else to come in, but in their desperation you can see that no one will. That is why we lead the chase, after all. We're all over this.
  5. "In reality" this thread is a total irrelevence and is not, repeat not, being used to "show how much Saints are prepared to grovel". This is a fans forum. None of us are negotiating this transfer. HTH.
  6. Absolutely this. We can walk away and Bologna, who clearly need the money and have a fu ck ed off player on their hands, will be in a far weaker position. Laughable all these posters desperate for Saints to pointlessly pi ss money away. This aint a computer game you freaks.
  7. Thank god you're here to point out that other clubs might be interested. Sure that has never crossed Cortese's mind until now.
  8. Quite. Unbelievable people on this forum think we should just cave in to the demands of a clearly skint and desperate club who are up shi t creek. Thank god the people on this forum aren't negotiating. Pathetic and gutless.
  9. Because this is not our problem. Why on earth do we need to take a loan out if Bologna are skint? Bologna do not hold the power here, we do and the player does, as he is clearly wanting/expecting to move (somewhere) this window. Bologna will concede soon enough. And I'd rather we didn't sign this kid rather than set a precedent that we spunk all the cash up front when we buy players.
  10. We have remained "shut up" throughout. Paying a skint club all the money up front is bonkers. No club would do it, except maybe QPR who are equally mental.
  11. None of this is our problem. Bologna are clearly skint - this puts us in a strong position. The absolute last thing we need to do is give them all the money. We're playing it right.
  12. ...riiight.

    Breaking news

Great article. Not that the parade of utter dips h its on this forum will pay any attention to it whatsover. The army of divs blindly convinced that club PR guff is the only gospel truth with no absolutely agenda at all. Oh no. Good morning MLG. Wah wah wah journalists are all howwid liars. Wah wah anti Saints agenda. Wah wah wah. etc.
  14. The bit that is wrong is you saying we can't prove we can pay in instalments. It's not us that is skint. And we'd be effing mental to pay it all up front. Mental. So we won't.
  15. ....well he hasn't signed for anyone else either yet. Story not over until he signs for us or someone else. If Bologna are that skint then he ain't staying there. I think this is well and truly on. Alpine's intervention only makes me ten times more convinced than before.
  16. Not 100% sure but sometimes there are seperate conferences for broadcast and press.
  17. Venables only ever won two competitive games, one of which was against freaking Scotland. That Holland game was amazing but that's it.
  18. Lots of baseless assumptions as usual. Safe standing never going to happen. German model: cheaper tickets. Broadening appeal: cheaper tickets. Less well off fans: cheaper tickets. Accessible to larger demographic: cheaper tickets. As soon as you start discounting to chase gates you have a problem. Mainly because you always assume the current fanbase will continue to pay what they pay now and these exciting new prices will be the preserve of brand new, incremental fans. A totally nebulous concept.
  19. I'm as far from a Lowe hater as you can get, but this. A million times this. Pretty every single thing he did from the day he sacked Luggy was a monumental fu ck up and beyond any mitigation. And he even had the chance to put it right by keeping Pearson on and blew it. Doesn't mean that lots of the things he did do - academy, stadium, appointing some good managers, prudence, some great players and, ohhh, catering to die for - don't deserve recognition. He did lots of good. Cortese has always been Lowe with cash and I think will follow a similar career trajectory with Saints but that's another story.
  20. Why not say, say, fifty thousand more? Or, say, seventy thousand? Or, say, ten thousand. Or, say, every single human being south of the M4?
  21. In other news, 38,400 turned up at Goodison to see tiny little Everton against Man U live on Sky last night.
  22. This is the single biggest bed wetting post on the entire thread. You'll know if/when he signs. You'll know. No need to grizzle about a bit of speculation and rumour mongering.
  23. I bet RVP isn't on significantly more than Rooney. If you think bringing in a multi million pound signing on big wages into a newly promoted side doesn't carry any risk of disruption then good for you but I think you're wrong. This is all very exciting but I was jumping up and down when we signed Delgado too. Let's hope it happens but let's go in with our eyes open.
  24. Nothing can possibly go wrong now.
