  1. Building a stadium expansion with the plan to fill it with more away fans is mental. Mental. That's why no major club does it or would even consider it. Get it? Get it? And you dinlows portray yourselves as the "positive" ones. Building seats in order to bus in West Ham fans. How is that positive? Nottingham is plenty big enough for two clubs. Forest has us much potential and catchment as us if not more so.
  2. Proportion is irrelevent after 30k isn't it? So why on gods earth should we be expanding the ground specifically to cater for four or more thousand away fans? Why? Typical nonsense from the "visionaries" again. Just nuts. Oh well, he'll be tw atting on about Nottingham Forest being crippled by the existance of Notts County again soon.
  3. Well, yes. It's a internet forum. What were you expecting? PS. I am right.
  4. Quick Frank, start accusing others of being "negative". It's basically all you've left because your Bayern price slash is in tatters.
  5. The guy you quoted has said we shouldn't even consider it until we've finished top five twice...well I think that is far closer to the "Dell-sized mentality" view than the views of MLG and the "visionaries" who say we need to expand now, and fill it by slashing prices because that's what Bayern Munich and easyjet do. The first line of Melmacian Saint's post is the Dell-sized mentality in a nutshell and is spot on. If you can find any "Dell-sized" contributor (Me/Kraken/Turkish/TCM/Hypo/any nornal human) saying we should never expand ever then well done, but you won't.
  6. It's ridiculous - they already sponsor Blackpool don't they? And you can't move for gambling ads and sponsorship all over football. And beer. And crisps. And chocolate. Football is a slag. Get over it everyone.
  7. If we aim for that we're down.
  8. It is these days. Point a game probably will be enough. Ten wins is what we need really.
  9. Eh? Dean Richards was free. Svennson was £2m. I don't remember Buttner being a massive fee. We could have got some good defenders in for £12m.
  10. Should we have kept Mark Wotte when we got relegated four years ago?
  11. That'll be the dynamic pricing model in German Beerhalls, great for getting bums on seats, and at great prices for the common man: pubs in Southampton really should be following suit.
  12. Is it just me who is familiar with the short-lived early 90s BBC sitcom of the same name? Not strictly Saints related, but it did have the wonderful Jim Broadbent in it.
  13. We're only three days away from people saying ten games is not enough to get a true picture, let's see where we are at Christmas.
  14. As am I but he has to be responsible for our defensive unit. It's his team. It's his defensive unit. You seem to be making out that he is an innocent bystander to our defence.
  15. Who gets the credit for our promotion then? Presumably Adkins had nothing to do with it?
  16. No we didn't.
  17. I would be surprised if any West Ham fans give us a moments thought to be honest.
  18. Wrong. Cortese said it, quoted, in, I think, early September. Might have been late August.
  19. Cortese expected us to win the league last season. The idea that Adkins acheived anything "early" is simply wrong.
  20. You honestly think normal people have a "preferred" way of buying a football programme? I know its an unfair question to ask you, as you don't qualify as normal to any extent. But have a go.
  21. The first rule of the Cult of Cortese is eye watering disengenuousness must be used to justify any decision. So Frank you are actually saying that when you got laid off if you had just got a letter through the door with no warning you would have felt exactly the same as being sat down and spoken to as part of a formal consultation period? Because when I got laid off I would be significantly more fu cked off if that had happened rather than what I did get which was explanation, thanks and empathy. But then I am not bending over backwards making ludicrous points to justify my defence of an appaling piece of contempt for human resources by the club. Well done though.
  22. No one is moaning about the attendences per se. You have to remember thus forum has endured a summer with the supposed "visionary" geniuses telling the rest of us we've "maxed out" St Mary's and we need to build thousands more seats and now. We were told there would be a mad scramble for tickets as demand massively outstrips our tiny little stadium. We were told thousands of brand new Saints fans would come to SMS from Wiltshire, Devon and Kent. We were told thousands more would come as neutrals, just coming from miles around to watch Premier League football. And we were told not buying into this utter horse-sh it meant you were negative, anti-Saints and wanted the manager sacked. These threads are related to that moronic garbage spouted over the summer. Don't know about you but I am not convinced we have seen a dramatic increase of neutral fans from the Somerset area coming to the stadium to watch just any old Premier League game. But then, I'm just anti-Saints.
  23. Your thoughts are typical of the negative, Dell sized mentality on this forum. The enlightened ones, the visionaries, know we have maxed out our stadium and we could definitely sell 45,000 against Villa dynamically priced at ten pound a pop. With kids for a quid. And we don't do debt as we are bankrolled by billionaires so thankfully it is all risk free. You need vision, son, like the intelligent posters on this forum. Build it now. FFS.
  24. Can I take this opportunity to remind everyone that three years ago we were literally two hours and ten minutes away from being officially wound up and liquidised and we were bottom of league one and everything and stuff and that. Therefore, this news is fantastic and well done all involved.
