  1. Love the Sprout (not so much that song) but good effort. Noone, of course, will ever sing that. Whatever song we end up with it will be an embarrassing load of shi t.
  2. I think we established yesterday the photos were taken at Limewood. Not photoshopped, pretty obviously, BTW.
  3. Well people were underwhelmed by Jos. They're not by Jay. Many are genuinely excited and chuffed with this. I am. Noone was like that for Jos. The best he got was "lets see how he does". Completely different scenario.
  4. In all fairness, this is nothing like the signing of Jos. Jos was a last minute signing after a long summer of publicly nearly signing three other centre backs. We will never know for sure but it did feel like a last minute deal as well, out of the blue. And he wasn't playing for his club either. We've been after JR for a long time, we've spent a fortune on him and he is what they call in business a "big bet". And he was in the team of the year. And, I've not seen much in the way of doubters either, because of JR's rep and our determination to get him. All I can see is excitement. So at any level, whichever way you look at it, nothing like the Jos signing.
  5. He said "over rated" so I think he was suggested something bad had happened the last time we intentionally signed players with lots of Prem experience. Struggling to understand what and when he means.
  6. What happened? And when was this?
  7. Would be hilarious if it was some elaborate, staged wind up but it's unlikely. Get on board.
  8. I don't think we need Green to contribute many goals if we do sign him. Definitely not as many as Sharp anyway.
  9. But this is nonsense. Green was first choice going into the WC. The others bailed out BECAUSE Green was being picked, not the other way round. Either way this tearing apart and sneering at an international keeper is a joke. He is clearly better than Kelvin is, was or ever will be.
  10. Well, we don't know what Everton have done or haven't done. Some people on this forum refuse to believe that even we have put a bid in, so on that criteria we'll never know. The transfer deadline is the end of August. If Jay decides to wait, he can wait. He knows he'll get a move if he wants it. You have to remember why we have gone as early as we have. Clear potential interest elsewhere. His power increases the closer we get to September.
  11. The "younger keeper to learn off Davis" thing is garbage though. Not an important criteria by any means. If we can sign a better keeper than Kelvin, do it. If Kelvin doesn't play a minute of first team football next season, so be it. We're running a football club not a YTS scheme.
  12. Lots of delusion here. If JR says no, I want to join Everton then Everton can sit there all summer with five million quid on the table. If they are the only game in town Burnley have to take it. Burnley are not in the position to "call the shots" in the way some think. That said it feels like we have done a lot of work on the boy, so lets hope we get over the line. But don't kid yourselves people. The player decides not the selling club.
  13. Can't believe the Dell-sized minds on display. It's like Guy Askham is still in charge. We'd make the semis easily. Prob nick the trophy on pens when Kelvin the irreplacable saves all five Spanish attempts.
  14. I've read that four times and don't understand it. You were questioning why RG would want to leave WHU and its been pointed out that he just does. He does. The rest of your argument I don't think anyone can follow, not least you. But then elsewhere you are still making out we haven't even made an offer for J Rod, even though we obviously have. I think you need a holiday!
  15. So despite all these keepers retiring none of those England managers got anywhere near to picking Kelvin. And Capello has won the Champions league but obviously knows nothing about football or goalies.
  16. Something about swipe cards, or Saints branded credit card (don't we have one? - we used to). Or the launch of an exciting new official saints top trumps game. Or even a new picture of a digger outside something that looks like it might be staplewood. Highly unlikely to be anything remotely interesting, although it will probably make MLG spill his love milk over three sets of undergarments by lunchtime.
  17. Up there with Pep IMO.
  18. I read it as he doesn't really want to go (then). Could easily still happen.
  19. Well not neccessarily. He could turn us down flat to force Burnley's hand to lower their asking price to open up the field. Player power. And if he absolutely didn't want to come to us he could say so without it affecting his negotiating position with other clubs. Mainly because other clubs will offer much the same as we would. I think we can say he is at least considering us. Which is a start.
  20. Okay, here are my answers. 1) The th
  21. A footballer saying he "would not be surprised" is basically saying he doesn't know. And he doesn't. And you don't.
  22. I don't need to outdo you. You're a fu c king nutjob.
  23. Birmingham got to the Europa league and got relegated you absolute spastic.
  24. He says clubs in the Premier League fighting for european spots, not football clubs only fighting for European places that are only achievable through league placings. So all that shi te about you can only get to Europe by fighting for fifth, which actually means fighting for fourth, is bo llock s. Clubs in the premier league fighting for european spot can do so by finishing twelve, or eighth, or fifteeth or even in the relegation spots. It's called getting to the FA cup final or winning the League Cup. See. Pedantic arse aching tedium streched to breaking point to make a pointless point on a webforum. Guess what, it's not just you that can do it.
  25. Still think this could go either way. He's had plenty of time to turn us down flat, so that's probably good. It means we must be in right ball park wages-wise. Adkins/Cortese probably banking on selling the club and our prospects. I guess they want to get him in the building and give him the vision speech. Or its all one big stalling operation.
