  1. The right decision - Spend £15M on a club and you can certainly appoint a better manager
  2. There is a shortage of Toblerone in the City !
  3. Radio Solent reporting that Wotte is expecting to get the job!!
  4. Sums up the reality of the situation perfectly
  5. That could be excellent news. The team needs stronger characters imo willing to stand up and be counted and look as though they may be enjoying the game!
  6. Anyone know if he is still with us ? He was on South Today - visiting the young girl in Hospital at reading who is tragically paralysed after falling from a tree. He came over very well - seemed to have a great sense of community and seemed a strong character which is what we need from a captain
  7. Wotte may have handled himself well as some posters are saying - He may be able to Talk the Talk But in my opinion he should feel lucky to still be a part of this club. People have short memories - He is part of the reason we are where we are.
  8. Great news - a new beginning and welcome to the Club
  9. The Mill at Gordleton is a good one so is the Cloud hotel at Brockenhurst
  10. NC articulates a minority view on this forum with too much spite and nastiness. Perhaps he feels he has to in order to get his point over. I do however think that the majority of us can appreciate where he comes from although we may not agree and I agree the forum would be less interesting without him !! Less personal attacks would be welcome At the end of the day we all support Southampton and should unite behind the club. Perhaps when the Swiss are in and we can finally see that Lowe is not returning we will be able to move on.
  11. He does not sound a very decent person. An asset stripper only
  12. Lets hope his proposals for the future are concrete.............. Sorry!!
  13. You are very persuasive Cloth Ears - I can't believe I am thinking of going!!
  14. The football last season was pretty dire - Derry is right about the diamond formation and the lack of decent crosses into the box.
  15. The business was not bound to go to BT but WH Ireland recommending the firm with Lowe being their chairman does give a hint as to who the administrators may be. It would be unusual to recommend a firm of administrators to clients and then not use them yourselves when called upon
  16. Trying to keep up, but I believe what is being said is that the Executive at Barclays who oversaw our overdraft and eventual demise by reducing our overdraft facility - Mr Fry - has now joined the very same Begbies Traynor who are now benefiting financially from the Administration of Southampton Football Club which he himself had a contribution towards. Begbies Traynor themselves being recommended as a stock by W H Ireland in January !! A bit incestuous is it not
  17. i wil never forget my first game with my Grandfather when I was very young - almost 45 years ago The 1976 cup final was very special - and the testimonial that followed The 6-3 victory against Man Utd will not be forgotten either !!
  18. The only serious bidders for this club apart from Lowe have been a financially troubled builder in taX exile, a hedge fund , a photocopier salesman and now a letting agent Anyone else fancy a punt !!
  19. I was less than impressed with that interview.
  20. Jimmy Melia - saw him head a goal once may years ago - Milton Road end For those who can't remember him, he was a little bald headed midfielder of ours who took a lot of stick from the crowd - but was loved really !!!
  21. A deal can be done but not yet at any price. The paperwork has to be watertight so that the new club can start trading with the knowledge that there are no hidden 'nasties' that can come to the fore in the future. I applaud them for doing it professionally and correctly and there is no doubt everyone wants the deal brokered as soon as possible as TL intimated when he referred to the cartoon suggesting the tyre be replaced by a lawyer or two !!
  22. It was certainly the impression that I got.
  23. Lynhams analogy with a house purchase was interesting. Why would you pay the deposit on the club without the intention of completing!. Also interesting that more than £1/2m was paid as the Ajax game had to be paid for. He says Pinnacle remain in the driving seat
