Tested positive for an unknown variant of Covid at the end of November (an early Christmas present from my daughter, bless her, and just before I became eligible for the booster jab). I'm a fit 43-year-old, but have to say, it's been an unpleasant experience. Main issues have been headaches and fatigue, plus complete loss of taste and smell. I'm definitely feeling better now, but haven't got my senses back (irritating to say the least) and been really tired after attempting anything physical. Christmas is coming at a good time and hoping that a nice relaxing break will see me good for the start of the year. I personally support anything reasonable to stop this crap raging through the country and am lucky to have a good home life, so don't really care if I can't go shopping or attend games if it means that our health service stands a chance of operating the way it should. I'll definitely be raising a glass to people working hard over the holidays to keep our country going. Really hoping life can get back to normality from the Spring though and will take whatever boosters people far cleverer / qualified than me tell me to!

Burnley probably losing out most here. They will have two more games than us to shoehorn in to their fixture list when / if things resume.

Massive difference! But we have a better squad than Brentford (despite what some might say). They also have people out so we should still accept nothing less than a win against them.

Yeah, would be better for us but I'm not having this being used as excuse for not beating them. Liverpool smashed us 4-0 recently in a reverse situation.

The 9-0's are a millstone around his neck that will probably never go away (well, not unless he achieves something truly remarkable, like win a trophy or something). They will always be used as a stick to beat him with and it's only fair to be honest (no matter how unfair the second one was IMO). I'm still in the camp that thinks we should persevere with him, but I often ask myself why. I guess the reason is that I honestly don't think either of us could do any better at this time and that the continuity is probably doing us more good than we can really appreciate. The thing that frustrates / motivates me in equal measure is that we always seem 2-3 games away from either a decent / toxic position, but invariably we achieve neither. If we'd won against Leicester and Brighton things would be looking rather good right now, but if we'd lost them then we'd probably all be calling for his head. It was the same with the Norwich game, a real punch in the stomach after the promise beforehand. In summary, we just seem to be plodding along in the most mediocre of fashions, but then that pretty much reflects the club as a whole really?

I’m probably overacting in the heat of the moment, but fuck me am I finding it harder than ever to support (or even like) this team. We’re six points clear of the bottom 3, so we’re doing ok, but our games tend to bring nothing but abject dissapointment.

Time for the team to leave the stadium and the doppelgängers to come on.

Excellent! I know we're gash at holding leads, but at least we actually put ourselves in a winning position quite often!
