This. I was pointing out just that you could not sell out for a playoff semi. You are small time and even though you would like to think we are rivals you will never even come close, and it is one sided from you guys. I think this season was the first time in my lifetime that you have been above Saints, and probably the first time ever. I also cannot see it happening again.
-
Yes sorry, I have been having a a running argument going back to the turn of the year that Balckpool would go down, and I tend to get these things right. You do have to remember a certain team who are also going down this year went to Old Trafford when Man U had nothing to play for and got a 0-1 win to stay up. This IMO will not happen again though, but you can bet your life that Blackpool will attack like they have all season and give it a bloody good go.
-
Lets just face it we always have been and always will be the bigger club down the coast. It will not be to long before there are 2 or more leagues between us again. Puching above your weight but still behind Saints who are way below their weight. Just the way it is.
-
Stoke are being out passed, and played in this game, and Stoke will just run out of puff! 2 or 3-0 City I think, but they may get a sucker punch!!
-
Blackpool are still going to drop through the trap door IMO.
-
They could not sell out a playoff semi, in their ****e little ground......small time!
-
But then when the big teams do not get to the final it is seen as devalued, so you cannot win at all. The magic was that any team could win it in the top two leagues.
-
That is my point, and today if Stoke win it could be like old times and not one of the top 4 winning it. I do not take offence mate.

I know but it is so frustrating!! Ok people can have their own opinion but sometimes there is no common sense. What has happened shows support for our manager, that is good for him as it shows faith, and sets the right tone to keep our top players here and it is good for the club. OK it is at this moment in time, but that is all you can do in football and then hope it all turns out well. I know I do not have to tell you this, but really some of are fans are really not all there!!
-
How can any fans not be happy with this news? Strange bunch of fans we have!
-
I have to add, that I was not overly happy with Adkins appointment, but he has won me over he seems to get everything pretty much right in many different levels of managing. He is not frightened to try some different things and ok they may not always come off, but that surely is all part of managament. He is a good man and a great manager and I look forward to him managing Saints in the Premier league.
-
I am so certain that this time he will see this contract out, and then well we will see. But of course if we make the Prem and then get relegated this might change, but it shows the faith we have in him at this moment in time and this is great news. Will everyone stop being so negative!!
-
This I was hoping to hear, we know there is going to be a shirt, we know there will be season tickets, but you never know with Southampton if the manager who has done a fantastic job is going to stay or not. GREAT NEWS!!!

Who do you want the win the FA Cup. I did want City to win, but now after looking into the recent history I 100% want Stoke to win and Higgy to get the winner!! The clubs that normally get to the cup final and win it are club that have been big for a while Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, and then those that have huge amounts of Money Chelsea and maybe Man City tomorrow. Even when the Skates won the cup it was from mis-use of funds that they could not afford. So I suppose in a way 1987-88 was the last time a smaller club won the FA Cup apart from Everton in 1994/95, so we have had in the last 22 years 19 times that FA Cup has been won by one of the big 4!!! The only other teams are Spurs, Everton and the Skates. Man U 5 Arsenal 5 Chelsea 5 Liverpool 4 So on the back of this I would love Stoke to win, as Man City are going to be part of the big 5 going forwards!!! Until I looked into that I hade never noticed how much the top 4 have taken over. If you look at the 22 years pervious to this. 1966 - 1988 Spurs 3 Man U 3 Arsenal 2 Everton 2 Liverpool 2 West Ham 2 W.B.A 1 Man City 1 Chelsea 1 Leeds 1 Sunderland 1 Saints 1 Ipswich 1 Coventry 1 and for a staggering 13 years between 1966 and 1979 different teams won the FA Cup. You will NEVER get that again!!

It is a long way for me....can I claim travel expenses?
-
Stange as I see that is Lalana's position, a bit like Matty, but Lalana seems more effective out wide at time, so perhaps Oxo should play just behind the front 2?
-
I will say it again, he would have left if we did not go up, like many others, but now we can build on this keep Oxo and Lalana and Fonte and build a team around them. I think there will be 4/5 to leave and the same number in, but only if we can improve on what we have already!

Someone has been at the pub since work finished, good evening was it?

They make it very cheap for renewals. They want as much money up front so they can plan the financial budgets for the season. Ok not as much as we have needed the money on the past as we are a cash rich club. I have no idea what they have up their sleeve to promote the season tickets. We will find out, but I do remember them banging on about it pre-season 2010/11!!
-
Love the idea, as I said I will probably only get to 6 or 7 home games in a season but want to get a season ticket. Was going to sellit for the games that I could not go to for £15 a pop just to make up a little bit of the lost income from the season ticket. I am not sure this is allowed but to friends surely it cannot work.....hello friends

Here is the stats from the 2nd flight of football to get into the big time. I've had a look at the last six League games for each of the four clubs in the previous 16 seasons of play-offs in this division (Now NPC) and found the following frequencies of winning the play-off final: Club with best form - 5 times Club with second best form - 4 times Club with third best form - 4 times Club with worst form - 3 times and since the playoff's started. 3rd place - 12 teams made the final. 4th place - 13 teams made the final. 5th place - 10 teams made the final. 6th place - 11 teams made the final. and to go up. 3rd place - 8 teams. (35%) 5th place - 6 teams. (26%) 6th place - 5 teams. (22%) 4th place - 4 teams. (17%) Looks to me like the 3rd place team have the edge on winning and being promoted. But really it is all just a lottery!!
-
Does not happen that often, it is pretty even, and the team with the best finish to the last few games of the season normally go up. Posh had the best last day!
-
I have Reading, Peterborough, Torquay and AFC Wimbledon to be promoted. I feel I will get 3 out of 4 which of course is not good enough. I have a soft spot for Torquay so hence them being in there, but I think Shrewsbury will go up in league 2.
