  1. Wouldn't touch Drinkwater. Veerman would be my choice for a cheaper backup. Diallo has quality though so I'm not too worried, I think by the end of the season he will be our starting CM next to JWP
  2. We never really had firm confirmation either were our targets. Maybe what it says is agents leaking links to more glamorous clubs than they are worth to drum up interest.
  3. Got nice boats and that
  4. Southampton is nicer than Birmingham... Closer to france too. Get him in!
  5. Does seem well set up for a potential Veerman bid. Time will tell...
  6. Re Willian, terminating a contract normally means the club pays it off in full upfront to get rid of you, it's unlikely Willian left without earning a hefty chunk. Must have been dreadful for the dressing room for Arsenal not to have just held onto him.
  7. Sounds spoiled but we should have won that comfortably. The fact we had 2.7 -0.7 xG and didn't win is a testament to both very mediocre goalkeeping and Djenepo not being able to hit the broad side of a barn.
  8. Would love us to drop some good money on a quality DM. Koopmeiners, McKennie, or Yangel Herrerra come to mind. Not too bothered if it is just back up though, both Romeu and Diallo are good players anyway. Wonder if Veerman is still on our radar, could make a good cheap option.
  9. Palace made decent earlier business, like Guehi and Anderson, but don't rate this at all. They look poor so far and Will Hughes is far from the person to change that.
  10. Pace isn't the be all and end all. He's no slower than Tadic and Lallana who have both done well for us in a creative role. We have some absolutely rapid players like Armstrong, Tella, other Armstrong, Djenepo, Perraud we can handle one slower player pulling the strings from the 10 role.
  11. Existing keepers are on massive wages and we can't budget adding another without shifting one. Forster is out of contract next summer so will do it then. I don't like it either, but that is their reasoning
  12. He never made it under Hughes but then so did half our players. Ralph is a class above (maybe three or four classes above to be frank) Hughes for player improvement so I'm hopeful. Looked good pre saints against some top teams and at Celtic against some top teams. Might be something in it.
  13. Hard to judge as Armstrong often played center mid for Celtic and Elyounoussi played a much more attacking role. Goals and assists-wise Elyounoussi (10+4) got more last season than Stu did in his last season with Celtic (3+5) but less than Stu did the season before that(15+7).
  14. Same team as united but Elyounoussi in for Walcott, he earned a chance tonight
  15. Is three goals and two assists enough for him to take Walcott's place at Newcastle?
  16. This is brutal
  17. Goal Broja shot saved, Ely on the rebound it sounds like
  18. Audio available on talksport. Free on the internet. No video stream is a pain though
  19. My only worry is no Adams or Armstrong on the bench so we don't have a plan b if we are struggling for whatever reason
  20. I think we will "keep our eyes open" as Ralph likes to say. But I think that is it for our planned for transfers. If a great player becomes available near the end at a great deal we have a little bit set aside now to act.
  21. It's only my name, it's it is such a crazily generic name that in my school two other lads had the exact same one. Also the name was on my twitter for a while so not super bothered tbh. Thanks for the heads up though.

Yeah I initially suspected bitter fans but rival fans aren't really very positive either.

    Adam Armstrong

Fitting in great into our pressing game.

Nah I haven't seen him in a full game (to my knowledge, I might have caught one in the past as I do watch italian football). I have seen highlights of a few games since he was linked and, as you say, both individual and team stats. To be honest though, I'm mainly worried based off of these reports. Generally speaking you can gain a reasonable gauge of player quality from the reaction of their fans, opposition fans, and the press to their sale and I have gone out of my way to take in as much of that as possible and I would describe it as 95% "he's shit" and 5% "he has been shit but he might improve, he seemed ok at one point". I tend to find it is generally the best way to judge a player to gain fan consensus and league consensus even if you have seen them play a couple of times. That's why I'm not super hopeful.
