  1. I think Macca claims crosses better and snuffs out danger into the box a bit better. He's still crap at both those things but less crap, they are both dreadful at basically everything but Forster is a slightly less dreadful shot stopper and Macca is actually average at best at claiming the ball but that is still well ahead of Forster.
  2. Somewhat misleading as we have trimmed our wage bill considerably with the loss of Gunn, Lemina, Bertrand, Ings, Vestergaard, and a bunch of youngsters. Our annual wage outgoing has almost certainly decreased this summer so it is not a good answer to "where has the transfer money gone"

    Stu Armstrong

Tbf he is proper injury prone. And we weren't lying about JWP, and Ings started just before leaving so we don't necessarily rest players about to leave
  4. If he wants a spot he'd better earn it, as it should be. Have a feeling over the international break we might try Tino as a attacking mid as they are playing a lot more like wingers atm. One side kwp Tino and the other perraud djenepo sounds quite good going forward but would also offer great play against the ball.
  5. That's a "right of first refusal" clause, it's a different thing. A buyback means they can sign him for X amount of money regardless of if we want them to, he however does get a say.
  6. In essence if Chelsea offer us a certain amount (reports are about £40m) then we have to accept it and they get to attempt to agree personal terms with Tino. He has no obligation to accept personal terms however if he wants to stay with us
  7. Disagree with the Adams point. He put it on a plate for Armstrong to miss and his passing and tracking back was ace. He sits a lot deeper than with Ings so he is playing much more as a 10 now in a 4231.
  8. Forster isn't better than Macca imo, they both are dreadful
  9. The buyback is like £40m apparently. If we sell him for that we won't care about pissing off KWP, that is a tonne of money.
  10. We've signed him because we develop youngsters incredibly well and playing with Ralph and for JWP is apparently a big draw. It was a mad pick up though, this lad is so so good.

    Adam Armstrong

    Yeah Adams was great today

    Adam Armstrong

Yeah I'm very positive about Armstrong. Makes good runs and makes great decisions, should have done better with the first chance today but it was a good read and save from a great 1v1 keeper. The headed chance was a poor miss too but we didn't buy this 5'6'' lad for his heading. I'm positive and optimistic about him. Superb at pressing too.
  13. We need a keeper. Salisu is perfectly acceptable at CB.
  14. One day people will wake up to my genius. If I say it's an insane signing it's an insane signing 😂
  15. Just back from game, we looked very good at times. Shame Armstrong couldn't put away two golden chances and Macca did a dreadful dreadful job with the goal. Still, massively positive. Tino, what a signing

    Danny Ings

Ings was £30m by all accounts, this guy will be less than £5m. It only means we may as well have sold Ings for £18m (£25m more like) if this guy had 0 value. He doesn't, £5m is probably fair for him, it's just a shame we aren't spending more.
  17. Saying it in the other thread but with the passive aggressive way Ralph is addressing the media ("hopefully these signings will be good enough to sell to a big team") he might be starting to lose his rag. We need a GK, we need a CB, we need a back up LB, we need a top chance creator at AM. All those things are essential, we just made £25m net spend, cleared our wagebill massively with 6 high earners out and potentially 3 in, and we bought in a pisspoor £5m CB for Ralph. Wouldn't be surprised if he walked, he has been promised we reinvest what we make and where has all the money gone? If we actually do what Leach said (and he hasn't been wrong much at all) and make this our last signing then the board has failed Ralph, they have been taking money out of his pocket and putting it god knows where and he has every right to walk, rather than try to defend this squad which we just funnelled a further £20m out of for no reason whatsoever.

Was just thinking this, also Ralph said earlier in the window that last summer we tried to frontload our spending and it ment when good deals became available at the end we couldn't take them as we ran out of money. Hopefully we are saving the £20m or so we still have for our sales to see if we can convince a Caleta-Car/Sam Johnstone/Jorge De Frutos to join us late on when low on options. Doubt it from what Leach has said but whatever, we can be miserable when 1st of Sept rolls around and we realise we have replaced a Danish international defender with someone who a torino fan today said "Makes Mustafi look god tier".

    Salisu has been fine imo.

It's a stupid decision. We might get lucky and he happens to be OK, chances are he won't. The fact is though, if we are happy to absorb £20m in a transfer window when we desperately need a good signing we are fucked, regardless of whether this signing is good or not. It's the principle, a club that spends what it makes is going to be precarious, a club that can't even do that is going to drop and drop and drop. It's not just about a dogshite signing, even if we'd signed someone I considered a genuine bargain for £5m I'd be pissed if it was our only signing because it represents money being drained from our club. This is considering both our netspend transferwise and our trimming of the wage bill.

I'm fine with us being a club that buys players with the intention to sell on for a healthy profit, as long as we actually use that profit and don't absorb ~£20m net spend when we really need to tighten our side

You don't have resell value if you are shit. Livramento has resell value, Armstrong has resell value, this guy is another albatross round our neck fucking up our wage bill.

I don't know what the actual fucking point in this is. The way Ralph is talking today saying things like "Hopefully these signings will be good and we can sell them to big sides" he seems annoyed. And why wouldn't he be. We get to keep what we make is what they always said, and frankly that should be a bare minimum, so where has all the money gone?

People are basing it off a mixture of every stat, interactions with torino fans on social media, interactions with Italian fans in general, torinos overall performance, his inability to get into torinos team, his abject performances when he does get in (his only start in the last 15 ended 7-0) and a range of video clips. Its not as good as watching him week in week out but it's enough reason to be pretty irritated that this is the guy we are bringing in to replace our best CB last season.

That's because those were good signings and this isn't. You can say what you want, but you shouldn't be surprised when people can work out if a player is good or not. The consensus weren't wrong on arma or livra, they probably won't be wrong here.
