Am I the only one thinking today's a bit like Return Of The Jedi? I hope no ones pulls down Ted's statue in a fit of excitement...... -
I have just purchased a rather lovely 42" lcd 1080p tv.... I have no intentition of putting my foot through it so I shall politely refuse to watch said interview...
-
I beg to differ young Steven... I think those 3 months in which he was in charge are singularly responsible for our fate today and that divvering over Dodd and Gorman has set in effect a series of disasters that has ripped this club apart.... And the statue isn't that good either!

How ironic that two of the most maligned players on this forum are the two players who step up to the plate when the going gets tough. I hope all of those who slagged them off feel a twinge of guilt and will be on here today admiting so... Oh, and I assume that defering of pay from a club that could cease to exist in a months time is virtually the same as giving the pay away... Fair play to the both of them. Top, top, men -
Phew, thank goodness we never had an average of a manager a year under Lowe eh? With each new manager bringing in new players and a ever growing squad of middle order bench warming stodge eh? Thank the lord that we never frittered away millions on compensation, payoffs, free transfers for players we paid millions for, unwanted egms.. As long as we can blame Crouch's three month reign for all our ills and back Lowe and Wilde up, I'll sleep safer at night...

Phew! Thank god he didn't get rid of a good manager, appoint a dutch manager with no experience of English football who lasts barely half a season and generally screw up the whole season, ultimately ending up with the club going to administration... God knows what we'd do if he'd done that...
-
I think he came out of the interview really well. Passionate, reasoned and above all fair. No gloating, no baiting, just the reasoned thoughts of a fan...
-
Done...

Agreed with maybe but didn't actually do it. Forget cost cutting, that's a smokescreen, the decision to bring in Poortvielt for Pearson was absolutely ridiculous... In an actual of pure petulance and ego, Lowe took out a perfectly good manager and replaced him with a man who had no experience of English football whatsoever.. It was an act of complete and utter madness and it has completely and utterly ruined this season..
-
I think the total, complete and utter shambles of mockery of a shambles that this season has become is completely and utterly down to Rupert Lowe and no other...
-
I'm looking at your usename and wondering if it's nostalgic or prophetic?
-
Thing is Andy are we the only people who watched Windass in that Playoff final and thought **** me, he's brilliant? You can never tell, he might have been crap that season but he scored 15 goals in the championship and his goal took them up...

But that's not the point here, it's not where the money came from, it's where it should have gone. If, in the Premiership, transfers in equalled transfers out then we're still a selling club and St Marys has taken us no further than the Dell. And if you take into account the amount of players we sold for big money, then with transfers in and out being equal, we must have given away a helluva lot of players. Shop smart. Shop S Mart. It's not a question of throwing money at problem but what would you rather have? Melbranque, Adebayor and Saha under Strachan for about £12 million or the usual 10 mediocre players who clog up the middle order, take money for not even warming the bench and stall the progression of the academy players? And now Lowe looks to the youngsters?? Shame he didn't think of that whilst we had the likes of Yahia, McCann etc etc etc
-
Are any of those clubs going to be relegated? I'd say no, sadly....
-
And they certainly don't have a circus at Newcastle do they?? (rolly eyed/sighing faced thingy)
-
Wow... Got to say the most succinct evaluation of our plight I've read on here in ages... Top post fella...
-
Hmmmm... You say that but I'd heard that at least 10 players were out of contract at the end of the year...
-
Now I thought that Mush was an old abreviation of monsieur... Used a lot because of the merchant navy and the large amount of french sailors here...
-
And I will forever, along with Exit2, be responsible for that... glory days....
-
I like the cut of your jib young Godwin.. A bit of positivity, mixed with a bit of bacardi and topped off with a bit more Bacardi... Com'on you reds!
-
He gave me a "Saints Go Wilde " tee shirt free of charge... He has loads apparently..
-
Are you actually ecouraging me to collect money for charity?? Rattling tins? Oh the irony... And you wonder why I think you're a little bit dense?lol To think of how you went off on a tangent when I mentioned cancer a few months ago and yet here you are getting on your high horse about dyslexia.. The irony is just delicious. I'm laughing at you... The reason I mentioned dyslexia is that I do genuinely think you have a problem understanding words. It's quite possible isn't it? I ask you to reply to a point and you don't. You instead go off on a ridiculous tangent with all sorts of cut and past nonsense on Dyslexia. Do you have a problem with the written word? Oh, and for the record, my column in the Echo was alll about my opnion. I've never claimed to speak for anyone else but myself. Again, a problem understanding simple issues. Perhaps you might have need for that link yourself.... lol
-
Wow, that told me... Are you two tag teaming me now? I'm not sure I could cope with two pedantic smart arses at once...
-
Oh my god, you really couldn't make it up. Sundance Canteen going on about "genuine debate." Funniest thing I've read on here in ages... Point Number One: When you're droning on and on about the intelligence of other posters, it usually helps your cause if your own posts make sense and don't look like they've been written by a dyslexic twelve year media student. If people pick you up on your grammar, tough. Point Number Two: Genuine debate. Debate, genuine or cardboard cut out, usually involves the answering of questions; something you have gone out of your way to not do. Now it's either that you have no point to argue or you're not of sufficient intelligence to do so but it's mightily ironic (or moronic) that you're spending so much time pontificating about debate when you're doing your level best to avoid it... Never mind, we do enjoy the cut and paste quotes...

The point is Frank, I rarely see you chastising the likes of SundanceBeast and their wildly mis-balanced point of view but I do see you commenting on those fans who views are a bit more extreme in getting Lowe out. That's probably why you get tarred with the Lowe Luvvie brush. In short, if you want to stay middle of the road then fine but if you keep veering to the right rather than the left, people are going to think you're a French driver rather than an English one...
