And whilst we're on the subject, what does Connor's age have to do with anything? Do people expect fans to take all of this crap and not say something? At least some people are trying to express their discontent and still go and support their team. Guided Missile uses the phrase sheep quite liberally when describing our fans. Sheep would stand around doing nothing as their club goes down the pan. Connor, spotty face youngster that he is, is at least trying to do something whilst still supporting his team. I think the sheep are the trolls on here who think turning up week in week out will wash away our problems and we'll be just fine and dandy. Buy your ticket, sit on your hands, that's all a fans does. Actually, that's not a sheep... That's a lemming. Sheep or Lemmings? I think I'll stick with the mutton side of the fence..
-
No, he'll just sit on his hands as the club goes to rack and ruin. Connor organised a demonstration at the shambolic way this club is run and then went to the game and supported his club. Fair play to him... On that note I'll listen to him a darn sight more than some snidey troll who thinks his responsibility to his club ends with him buying a ticket...
-
No for that reason alone the team and the manager should bloody well perform...
-
And if the manager was quoted as saying.. "Let's all get behind the team and put our differences aside." I'd fully agree with you. However statements such as... "“I read some stories about some young kids doing a protest march and you just wonder what’s in their minds – are they really supportive or are they waiting for us to go down?" and "You can moan every day about Southampton Football Club and probably they are right because we’re not performing well enough – we’re 23rd in the league – but in difficult times you recognise a true fan and the true believers in this club." are condescending and insulting to the likes of young Connor who rather than talk about doing something actually DO do something. To say he's doing this out of anything other than completer devotion to his club is just bullsheet. Wotte just comes across in this as being very unpleasant and yet again this club allows itself to shoot itself in the foot and make enemies when they should be making friends.. And Frank, it's not an over-reaction... it's just very, very foolish..
-
Actually it's a quite clever thread, as it gives the Lowe Luvvies and the Crouch Potatoes to have their say but at the end of the day the amount of yes's and no's tell the true picture... And it's not looking at all good for Lowe...

Peter Reid for Manager - campaign needed..

Which, funnily enough, is a better CV than Gordon Strachan had when he arrived at St Marys... When will we learn that sometimes the most unlikely appointment can sometimes work out? Right time, right place sort of thing? -
In response to Duncan's opening post, surely Lowe's biggest mistake, aside from: Not backing Strachan after the cup final, Gray Wigley Wigley Redknapp Not keeping Pearson Appointing Portvielt Wotte is his obsession with not using the tradition managerial role. When Hoddle left, Lowe became obsessed with the impact that managers leaving has on a club. When the various managers Lowe employed left, for one reason or another, they took their backroom staff with them. The Moyes incident was directly down to that. Shame that if Lowe didn't meddle and tinker then perhaps we might have had a manager who stayed longer than two years. Actually that's Lowe's biggest mistake, over an a manager a year in his time in charge... A shocking statistic...
-
As opposed to your options a and b, neither of which offers the option that Moyes might have suceeded and stayed. According to you he'd either be crap or slightly better than crap... They're not lame or guesses are they?

Poll: Will y0u attend next season if lowe and wilde are still here?
Daren W replied to Mr X's topic in The Saints
Nothing like attracting attention is there? First of all, after 5 years of gross mismanagement, at what stage do fans say enough is enough? Two relegations in 4 years? Is that enough? It's our loyalty that unfortunately is being used against us. The problem here is that the club is taking advantage of that loyalty and abusing it. I have been saying for years that when Sky glamourised football and turned it into an"entertainment business" then we lost something. The club took the best bits of the "entertainment business" ie the costs and mixed it with the worst bits of old football, ie treating fans like cattle and contempt, whilst removing the best bits, ie being able to stand and get involved. Now if the club wants to be an entertainment business, they should try keeping it's customers happy. The phrase "The customer is always right" should be tattooed on some people's foreheads as they seek to treat people who have paid the equivilent of a west end theatre ticket for a game of football, like a piece of crap. What we should all do is not renew but go game by game and see how they like that. They know they've got 9,000 guaranteed tickets already paid for and it's that arrogant conceit that they know they've got at least 9,000 customers paying for a product in advance. But imagine if that money came week by week, game by game? That would hit them in the only place they care about... Their wallets... -

I'll still go, no matter what league we're in... But I'll be ****ed if I'll buy a season ticket and give them all my money in one go... -
Mainly because a very good point will get completely and utterly lost as everyone gets all hysterical about one comment..

The difference is the board and the people associated with making these sorts of decisions are paid to do so and as such are accountable.... The fans who were taken in by the false promises offered by Wilde and co, are not. They in fact pay the aboves wages.. To say the fans, such as myself, who believed what Wilde promised, are now somewhat culpable for our current demise is such farcical...

Askham, Richards, Windsor-Clive, Withers, Wilde

What annoys me so much from the rabidly pro Lowe lobby is the way "Avoiding administration" and "Financial stability" is being waved under our noses as if balancing the books is the ONLY thing a chairman or board need to do with a football club... Yes, of course, we all know that football is a business and we all know books have to be balanced... we're not stupid.. But at what stage do Lowe or Wilde run this as a football club? For the last four years the way this club has been run is farcical. Now we're facing relegation full in the face, does anyone really feel any better that we'll beat administration to the punch with relegation? At what stage do we open our eyes and question this board? The fact that Wilde and Lowe now are virtually invisible is absolutely shameful. A bunch of cowards who enjoy the limelight during the good times and hide away during the bad... A shocking state of affairs... -
Club second from bottom in the championship in "no one wants to buy our players shock"....

But what do you say to some of the ridiculous posts on here, ridiculing a very successful march? "There weren't that many people, some of them were on their way to the game" "The police were lying about the numbers to boost overtime" "Nyah nayh, what does it achieve? Has anything changed overnight??" Some people would say just about anything rather than praise the passion showed by 1500 fans making a stand and exerting their right to criticise a vastly incompetent board. If some of the perceived "Lowe Luvvies" showed just a modicum of good sportsmanship and admitted the march was a bigger success than they thought then perhaps people wouldn't take glee at rubbing their noses in it...
-
Shoot sorry, didn't read the post properly! lol
-
I take it you don't remember Ian Branfoot?
-
So what you're effectively saying is "What if Crouch was a ****"? Bit of a redundant argument isn't it?
-
Um, I get he impression that with some posters on this site, unless the entire crowd at St Marys turned up they'd write it off as being a failure. Hell if the entire crowd did turn up they'd moan that unless the entire population of Southampton turned up they'd view it as a failure... lol It must really hurt that a helluva lot of people showed they cared rather than sit on a website being smug...
-
Best of luck to Ed and Saint in Exile... There is light at the end of the tunnel.... You'll be just fine...

Again, you're lying your ass off but let's go with it... You're typical of a certain type of fan that's all talk and no action. Baiting fans about their attendance? What complete and utter ******. There are fans who can't afford to go, can't go due to logistics or oppose the current regime. I have no problem with that and never have, why should I? I have stated time and time and time again that football's not compulsory, you don't have to go. But I do have a problem with the fairweather fans who just seem to have dropped Saints without a good reason. Prats like you always hide behind others to justify your non attendance at St Marys, you're just a fairweather, armchair, plastic "fan". Deal with it.. However, people like you really **** me off. You post your opinion ad infintum, tell us all the gospel accoring to sailorboy. You even have the nerve to taunt Chorley about his attendance! I'm of the opinion that when you start to criticise other people's attendances then people have the right to question yours. I'm of the opinion that when you start "Jan out" threads when you've barely seen them play live, people are fully entitled to question you... And you don't like it do you? And I'll offer you the same advice I gave Sundance and Jonah. If you want to bait me with cancer/charity jibes then do it off board. Block me. Don't view my opinions as they obviously upset you so ****ing block me. But the moment you try to deliberate pull my strings over the cancer situation then you do so to my face or not at all. This is the last time I will point this out as thick When my mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer I had a hard job dealing with it. Not the disease but the fairness, the randomness of it. My way of coping with it was to raise money for charity in so much as if raising money for Cancer research saved one family from the anguish we've gone through then job done. I wasn't expecting praise, or even a thank you but I was never, in a million years, expecting to be slagged off for it. I asked the club for help in raising money for Cancer research. Not money, as Sundance would have it, but help. They couldn't be bothered to even reply, to the 2 letters, the 2 emails or the phone call. Is it asking too much to get a reply from the club? That's what annoyed me, all that annoyed me, not even getting a polite "No thanks." When the club finally did send me some correspondence it was a season ticket renewal form. That to me said "Well we can't be arsed to reply to your request to help charity but is there any chance you could pay all your ticket money in advance?" You know what my reply was... I notice you and Sundance have never, ever commented on how the club shamefully ignored my request to get my mums shirt signed and meet the manager/a player. We didn't think she'd see Christmas and it was shameful that they couldn't even be arsed to give what, 20 minutes of club time to get a dying woman's shirt signed? If that was your mother or anyone's elses for that matter, you'd be disgusted. Is my mother not deserving of that one "treat" then? Point noted but I am sick and tired of the likes of you and sundance dragging this cancer business up constantly and using it as a stick to beat me with. ****ing put it to rest you boring We're all entitled to have a reason why some of us chose not to renew. That's mine. You can't be ****ing arsed... That's yours... The club has lost its soul, it's lost its heart and it's that blatant arrogance, that I wanted to get across to people. That thread was about whether people were renewing and why not, apparently I'm not entitled to an opinion as i write for the Echo. This club thinks it's above its customers and it's that attidtude that currently threatens its existence. The chickens have come home to roost. The reason you copped the hump with me in the SFE days was the clubs arrogant attitude to season ticket holders, you felt that they paid their money, tough **** if the club dropped prices as soon as they'd cashed the season ticket holders money in the championship. Season ticket sales have dropped dramatically. Not the poplular opinion? I was right. You were wrong. End of... And can I just praise you for highlighting my attendance at St Marys, Einstein. I've been to every game bar 3 this season and sat all over the stadium rather than just the Northam. Probably more games than you attend in a couple of years....My attendance record stands up thank you very much. I still go you ****wit and if we get relegated to league 1 I'll still go. Bravo for pointing that out. Your point does indeed stand... You thick Now block me and **** off... -

I know, I know but I am sick and tired of ******s like Dulldays and Sumdunce using my reasons for not renewing my season ticket etc, distorting it and then using it as a stick to continually beat me with. To take this and make it even more juvenile, they started it. Find one post where I've had a pop at them, it's always replying to **** they've started. Oh, and there's nothing cyber about it. If Dulldays wants to call me a **** and lie about me, he can do so to my face, come to game and do so. Until he does he can back the **** off... -

Do you get your rocks off sat on your arse whilst people pay to watch football? Or is being an "internet personality" more important? Never mind replying, you'll only change your mind in a weeks time. "Season ticket holder think they're something special, I'm thinking of getting a season ticket, I'm not going to games as it's ****, I'm not going to games as the club's a mess" This is my personal favourite... You're a ****ing joke sailorboy... oh, and like Sumdunce, if you want to drag certain things up, do it to my face and not on a messageboard? You want to get personal, let's get personal... -
Pushed... On Monday he's fighting and up for it, Friday he's resigned. This has the mark of Lowe all over it...
