You don't seriously believe that? Did you ever watch a Branfoot side?? They're a long way away from being the worst Saints team in our after war history....
-
Did Perry Groves actually play a game for us? Or Sammy Lee for that matter? I can't remember...

Good point. Any fan who wants the club to fail is completely and utterly wrong. Like many others I liked Nigel Pearson a great deal, met him a few times and found him honest, forthright and man of great integrity. But... I get the same impression from Jan and even if Lowe and Wilde are proved right as a result, I'd be as happy as larry to see this experiment work. The problem we have at this club is that we have a minority of "fans," on both sides of the argument, for whom being right is more important than the club which in my humble opinion is horse shiite..

What amuses me are the threads, now closed, denoucing fans who might want to go to the FA cup game but not the league games.. Utterly, utterly priceless... So let me get this straight. Stayaway fans are apparently killing this club with their non attendance but at the very first attempt these fans of hogh principle decide people aren't going to get tickets and deny the club much needed revenue. You can't have it both ways, you can't say stay away fans are crippling the club by not putting money in the club and then tell them to eff off the moment they want to buy a ticket. You're right when you say fans can't cherry pick their games and any one who doesn't fancy Doncaster or Barnsley shouldn't suddenly find the money to see man Utd but by the same turn you can't then use the "vital income lost" argument when you turn people away. Either their money is good or it's not, they're guilty of being lightweight, part time fans but you can't cherry pick who you want at St Marys any more than you can cherry pick what games you go to....

Question: Do you hate Lowe and Wilde more than you love The Club?
Daren W replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
You've got to just love threads like this. In one fail swoop they're saying, let's have your opinion but it's asking for your opinion in the most one sided possible way. In other words, if you stay away from St Marys, you're not a true fan and should go and support some one else. Why on earth would anyone go and watch another team? That argument is just plain ridiculous. There are certainly fans who've just supported Saints through the good times and just don't fancy watching Championship football but we've lost them anyway, we lost them the day the first Championship season started. It's not news... There does seem to be a lot assumptions being made here. If you've fallen out of love with the club you're a bad person and off to watch Arsenal or Chelsea. Not one person seems to be asking why they've fallen out of love with the club and tried to fix that. To me this club is still the same arrogant, distant, unfeeling organisation that I've seen in place the moment we moved into St Marys. You became a number the day the St Marys turnstiles opened and there's been that feeling that they don't care if they lose your custom as they obviously feel that someone else will take your place and recent years attendances tell you that is most certainly not the case. Now before Sundance comes on here and starts his usual snipes about me waging some no existent war against the club, I've been feeling that the club doesn't care for ages now. Forget my personal views and ask yourself do you really think the club values you and your support? Or do you turn up each week, pay good money and yet get treated like a number and bossed around as if you were cattle? Are you happy to pay top money and be treated like that? To me they took away all the good parts of football, the passion, the standing, the emotion, the freedom of thought and kept all the bad bits, such as severe stewarding and policing and slapped a huge pay tag on it. Seriously ask yourself, would go to the theatre and expect to be spoken to the way some (some!) stewards and police talk to you??? Whatever happened to customer service? People are staying away because football just isn't FUN anymore... Forget trying to blame fans for staying away and ask yourself why anyone would stay away from a product they love. That's it, it's a product, it became a product the day Sky took over the game and turned football into I'm an Xfactor celebrity dancing on ice in a football academy, get me a fat contract and loads of money and get out of here. Blaming the fans for years of mismanagement is just pathetic. We're in dire straights because One chairman got us relegated through numerous managers and incompetence and the other usurped him without even a plan A let alone a plan B and then proceded to bugger off home to jersey and pretend he had no part to play in our continuing decline. In short, I don't care if people think stayaway fans are this or that. They're staying away for a reason, debate that rather than the sad fact that people are staying away in their droves.... I still go, but I didn't renew my season ticket as i don't feel the club deserves all my money in advance... Now it's up to them to make me change my mind, not on the pitch but off it.... -
What did Duncan (Fitzhugh Fella) say on Radio Hampshire?
Daren W replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Only one song? oh the irony.. One of the most boring, one track posters on here thinks Um only has one song. If you only got how stupid you sound, you might almost come within million miles of having a point other than freely insulting people. Unlike Um I'm actually glad the mods have let you back on here. No doubt crying and running off to others, screaming how unfair the TSW is, has obviously paid dividends for you... Now... Perhaps you'd care to repeat on here what you were saying about me on Saints Fun B-Anter? http://www.b-anter.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=4150&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight= What was I again? A tin rattler and a thug who had threatened, what did you say, to "sort you out"? Now considering the only thing I've ever suggested is you grow a pair and say to my face what you so freely behind say my back within the comfort and safety of your pc, your version of things is all rather high pitched and hysterical. You do come across as being the Christopher Biggins of this board. I can imagine you squealing in a high pitched voice to mods that I'd threatened you and implied violence and how horrible I was abusing your 'uman rights by suggesting you not insult people with impugnity and dare to actually say it to my face rather than from behind your mothers skirt... Oh, and to spare you the time, just cut and paste this tired old insult. It never ceases to silence me... "You're not exactly (insert highbrow sports journalist that SB has googled and thinks sounds good) are you?" "Blah blah blah tin rattler, blah blah perceived local super fan, blah blah blah talks about cancer a lot..." Let's see if you're as mouthy on a messageboard where you know I post eh? -
Wish I could say the same about your post... So after years of mismanagement it's the fans fault we're in the ****? What a totally ridiculous thread...
-
**** me is that tedious little ponce slagging me off other forums now? I think we'll have to have words....
-
And another thing, what does the jewish nation say about people who collect for charity? And how do you collect in private? Do I sit in my living room and think of the money I could raise? I'm assuming that Somedunce has figured out that to give to charity someone has to a) Collect it and b) organise the charititable collection in the first place Or does this money just get given and collected by osmosis? Still, don't let facts get in the way of a slanging match eh?

Mods, How much longer are you going to allow this pathetic individual to post such bile and drivel? Colin, like a lot of good natured, loyal fans I know, feel alienated from the club and whether o rnot you or I agree with them staying away from St Marys, they have the right, as consumer, to do so. It was Lowe and his board that turned fans into customers. It was fine in the days of Premiership football as there was conveyorbelt of fans and you charge what you wanted and if one left another took his place. Well the chickens have come home to roost now as fans exert their rights as consumers and decide if they don't like the product or the service they won't buy it. You can't blame them can you? Unless of course you're an idiot like Sundance who blames stay away fans for the plight we're in now and ignore four years of gross mismanangement that brought us to our knees. Yes, it' the fans fault... what complete and utter ********. Either way mods, people like Colin are entitled to voice their opinion without the bile and excrement thrown their way by the likes of cyberwarriors like Sundance. Just what does he have to do to merit getting banned? Either ban him or tell us what his real name is...

Do Pompey have sort of "Bung taker" quota they must fill then?
-
I've said it before, and as you appear to be either retarded or have an agenda, I guess I'll have to say it again.... Now as you so very obvious have an axe to grind with me (as most of your allowed three daily posts are aimed at me) can I just say... If you have anything to say to me, say it to face. If you continue to snipe at me from behind the safety of your computer screen, then I think I have every right to expect you to say it to my face. If you're not prepared to be a man and repeat your slurs and snipes to my face then I think you really should stay the **** away from this messageboard, you cowardly little ponce. Thank you...
-
Stanley, the I don't feel the club has to do anything, they never have had to do anything, they just do and it's what makes football clubs like ours stand out. You're absolutely on the money when you say that it was not the refusal, I was always chancing my hand by asking, but the sheer arrogance of not bothering to reply vthat annoyed me. If I was asking for something for myself or a jolly or a freebie then yes but asking for help to raise money for charity and to hear nothing, especially when I asked for ten minutes of the clubs time to do something for my mother, well that was pretty shameful. A simple yes or no would suffice but to ignore it... And as for Sundance, well I think the cowardly little scumbag will get what's coming to him. Karma's like that...
-
My god you really are the most odious little ponce aren't you? I think everyone should take a long look at this one quote and take a long hard look at it... Now I can't believe I'm going through this again but obviously for those with either a)A rampant agenda or b) Limited intelligence, it needs to be s p e l l e d o u t... ( and i think you fall under both categories) I never asked the club for money. Not once. I asked the club to help me raise money for charity. No donations, no cheques, just the plain and simple opportunity for them to help me raise money for cancer research... Got that? Has that penetrated that dull, one tracked brain of yours? They didn't just refuse, they just ignored it. Tossed it away, popped in the bin, file 13. They ignored an email, a letter and a phone call. Not from an uberfan who thinks he's special but the son of a mother who's dying of cancer and who wanted to make some sense of the unfairness of it all by trying to help other people.. Got that? Upon ignoring that simple request I mentioned it my Echo column purely and simply because I couldn't believe that the club would just ignore a request to help someone raise money for charity, in the vain hope that SFC's PR department might think it be worthy of picking up as not the best publicity for the club and they might actually help. They didn't and after mentioning it four times they still didn't pick it up which whilst you think it's me "spreading bile" I think it's me pointing that the club, your club, just couldn't be arsed to help me raise money for charity. I think people deserve to know that, it's their club after all. You then have another simple request for my mum to meet the manager and get her shirt signed. Cost to the club? **** all. Nill pounds, nill pence but again this club, your club, couldn't be arsed to arrange a visit for a dying woman to meet the manager for what? ten minutes and get her shirt signed. A fan of some 65 years and they couldn't even be arsed to do something that's free. It was left to Dave Ford to do something off his own bat and by that time the chemo had made her so ill she just couldn't go. And yet on here you had insensitive ****s like you saying that I'm some grief stricken madman on some angry vendetta to bring the club down. One bright spark even stated that "You wouldn't expect you local Vovlo dealership to help you with charity money so why should the club?" The fact that this club used to be the heartbeat of the city/community and has always helped deserving causes is lost them. Perhaps I'm wrong, perhaps Cancer research doen't need money raising for it, perhpas the club doesn't have to help people raise money for a good cause and any money they raised in the past is just jollty good luck. Perhpa the club doesn't need to answer to it's fans/customers as after all what are we other than... oops! the people who keep it in business. And then the club sent me my season ticket renewal forms. It was tant amount to saying, "Well you know we couldn't be arsed to help you raise money for charity and we know we couldn't be arsed to get your mother's shirt signed etc but is there any way you could pay for all your games in advance this year?" They can go **** themselves, the board that is, not the club and so can you Sundance or whatever your real name is. You're sadly indicative of what's wrong with this messagebaord. You're a coward who thinks he can spew insults and bile with inpugnity with the safe knowledge that they will never have to meet that person face to face and say to their face what they so freely say behind the safety of a pc screen. Don't bother replying Sundance, not unless you're prepared to grow a pair and say it to my face. Just remember one thing... Your id won't be a secret forever, pc bods are an intelligent lot and sooner, rather than later your real identity will come out and when it does I promise you one thing. I will find you. I wil track you down. And when I do you 'll have the opportunity to say to my face... and believe you me, I'll enjoy it darn sight more than you will. In the meantime I'll get ready my first article for Baj and Granty. If it does nothing other than **** you off it'll be time very well spent...

I think Windmill used the word Rich as opposed to the name Rich so bravo on your wonderful grasp of the English language. Rich as it's rather amusing to see people with over 500 posts on their rivals' messagboard preaching about us being obsessed. For the record, you really should try and show a bit more grace. You're south coast top dogs and you deserve it. Instead you seem far more interested in rubbing it in our noses. Which is fine... But Of all the clubs in the Premiership that are at risk due to the world credit crunch, Portsmouth are by far and away the most vulnerable. Your "empire" is based on borrowed money and shifting sands. Your set up just isn't geared up to be self sustaining, you have a no real facilities and should your sugar daddy scoot off your wage bill will tear you apart. 90% of your income goes on players wages, no club can sustain that for long. Your "reputation as a club with proper fans and a proper history" is laughable really, with all your new success you still can't sell out your "ground" so it's utterly hilarious that you should point to our attendances at the post Taylor report Dell, with a remarkably unsuccessful team. The Dell was damn nearly full all the time... unlike Fratton Park. You only have to look at how we've crumbled to see how precarious football is and we were supposedly the model for the modern self sustaining football club according to the press. (when they quite liked us) If you don't get a stadium or some sort of decent infrastructure then if your sugar daddy goes, you will be ****ed. Enjoy your moment, it's well earned and deserved. Just don't be surprised to see your club become the next Leeds and bankrupt itself into League 1.

So sorry to hear about that ESB. Goes without saying but if you ever need to talk you know where I am. Sad to sad I've far too much experience of this and know what you're going through...
-
Amen to that brother....
-
You've done it now... People are going to moan about you having a moan about he moaners...
-
No doubt people will moan that, as it stands, we didn't score from open play.... Own goal, penalty...yada yada yada....
-
From the sound of it recently, some people will be desperate for us to lose today....
-
Good post, good thread... But you know it's going to be jumped upon from a great height later on in the day... I'd hazard a guess and say this thread will attract 4 pages and will be locked by Monday...

I always think that defeats like this and the reactions they provoke. It's always us being ****, it's never about the other team having the performance of their lives. Could it not be that Rotheram were up for it? That they, like Brighton and QPR played the games of their lives and deserved it? Why does it have to be Villa or City or us being ****? Why do we always look to the worst in ourselves???
-
If Doncaster is too much, and I think it might be, then she is defintely going to Norwich game. Come on people, if she can go and get behind the boys so can you. Forget Rupert Lowe, forget Michael Wilde, just get your arses down to St Marys and give these boys some support...
-
Well i'm looking forward to it Jan. I've got my brother home from Oz and we're taking our mum to her first game for over a year... Let's hope the kids do her proud...
