  1. this used to be common practice at the dell years ago, when away teams came to play us and they had a nippy winger the ground staff were instructed to reduce the width............im not sure if this is the case now but if they have been doing it for the last 3 or 4 home games then i would say that it is working in our favour. now only if our groundstaff could narrow our goal for the last 10mins of every home game....:-)
  2. i would have taken that before the game, derby have hit a bit of form recently........we didnt get beat but the teams around us arent doing us any favours.....this is to be expected as they are fighting for the lives just like us.
  3. i think mark dennis mentioned it would have to happen before we play QPR which is this week.
  4. plenty of room to stretch out :smt037
  5. they have had their critics this season even though they are flying high.the fans dont like the negative football and are fed up with 1-0 wins.i suspect that this negativity coupled with them playing us (bottom of the league) resulted in their poor home crowd. i think if we were in their shoes we would be puling mid 20k crowds however and whoever we were playing.
  6. yes i would complain if the ticket office failed to deliver as SFC is a multi million pound business that should have the resources to cope with demand but this site is just an amateur forum run by volunteers. although i dont always agree with the way it is run or the decisions made,i do applaud the efforts of the people behind the scenes and i think a few of you are going a bit overboard on the criticisms........it seems that a few of you have replaced lowe with Baj. i am more than happy with the service i get for £5,ok it sometimes gets a little slow but i dont get inundated with pop-ups and adverts and the idiots that sometimes used to infect the previous forums seem to be put off by the £5 fee. some of you need to ask yourselves if you could do a better job than the mods and admin............i suspect the answer would be yes but the reality would be the opposite.
  7. i think 9.5p per week is good value for money,i have only had a couple of occasions when i have not been able to get on the site.............i think some of you are expecting a little too much for your money.
  8. i wasnt happy about it but was prepared to give it a chance at least until christmas. it was obvious that it wasnt working and the doncaster game was the final straw for me. i wasnt happy about wotte taking the steering wheel but i have to admit he has turned things around and i am seeing some decent football again so i cant grumble as ultimately that is why i go to football.
  9. his spiritual home...the club he supported as a kid? :-)
  10. the apprentices used to clean them but as they are the apprentices then i suppose they clean their own :-)
  11. jim is a top bloke.......addicted to fruit machines and guiness though :-)
  12. we r going up,we r going up
  13. 2-2 for me. i would be happy with apoint but 3 would be blinding.

  15. the lad on the front of the echo is the same lad who threatened and tried to intimidate my two 15 year old sons and his mates whilst on the way to the ground.....he was with a few others and they were looking to cause trouble............obviously they were very brave and hard trying to pick a fight with a few teenage kids once again a so called innocent, upstanding football supporter has been on the recieving end of a good beating, just like jamie turner the innocent manu fan the prisons are full of innocent people and it seems football grounds are as well. i have come across these innocent fans many, many times and it is funny how they are all up for a row. he may have served his country and his girlfriend may also be pregnant but if you are a punchy little koont you are a punchy little koont. 'he's just a guy who loves football, but he's not an idiot just a family man' funny that, wasnt jamie turner described as being just that? it is sad what has happened to the boy but he found what he was looking for, live by the sword and all that. i am sad about the state he is in but i have no sympathy.......it just doesnt wash with me im afraid.

  17. our chances are improving with every game. 3 game ago we required 2.2 ponts per game to be in with a shout, now we only need about 1 point per game. i know its a bit geeky but this is the sort of things the bookies look at when deciding their odds and ours is looking ok at the moment.
  18. who else was sh1tting themselves when McG stepped up to take the pen......because i was!
  19. id agree with this,i couldnt see where the points were going to come from. before yesterdays game i had us down for needing 15 points from 13 games and now it is 12 points from 12 games.we were averaging 0.9 points per game under JP so 12 points from 12 games is a more realistic, achievable target to aim for. i have to admit that the last 2 games i have witnessed some great passionate football, but we all know that this could have been the case from the start of the season if lowe/wilde/JP/wotte had read this forum and done the right thing. we have all been calling for experience,a different style of play and passion all season........its just a shame that the 'puppet master' didnt listen,we could now be filling the ground whilst pushing for promotion instead of fighting for survival.perhaps next season will see us getting back to the form we should be showing and pushing up the league in style.
  20. im afraid it is a fact of life that any violent incidents that happen when the saints are playing will be credited to football related violence even if it is not................if the above reports are to be believed then this looks the case with this incident.i hope that all involved are ok and that the cowards involved are caught. we have enough sh1te aimed at us without having this incident on our cv as well.
  21. jesus thats some gust of wind!
  22. ...... possible 36 points up for grabs........we are going up,we are going up :-)
  23. i did also see 3 rowdy cardiff fans turned away from entering the ground for being drunk, they were making arses of themselves and goading a few youngsters, they were told they were'nt going to get in and they wandered off towards the bridge......this might have been them???
  24. there was some trouble during the game in a pub between saints and cardiff fans who didnt have tickets, from what i hear (and its only a rumour) there were about 15-20 cardiff lads and 6 saints lads,i saw one of the saints lads after the game and his face was a bit bruised and cut. wether or not this was the incident i dont know :smt102
  25. good shout but would we be calling for change if we were on the other side of the fence? it is obvious to everybody involved in football that the game is being destroyed by greed which has been going on since the early 90's.some people would say that this is the price of progress, evolution if you like but that doesnt make it right. the players and their agents now run football backed up by sky,the clubs have no power and if the players dont get what they want they move onto another club that will pander to their every whim. the big clubs rape the small clubs all the time and the small clubs have to take it in the arse to survive.football will eventually destroy itself and all that will be left are the big money clubs playing each other, which is something they and sky have been working towards for a long time.
