Saints' relegation rivals' games today
lordswoodsaints replied to InvictaSaint's topic in The Saints
i think we will be down before we go to forest, maybe even the last home game before forest. -
Did BWP & McGoldrick attack a Saints fan?
lordswoodsaints replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
i bet McG didnt land a punch on target and BWP just ran round the lad until he fell over. -
Saints' relegation rivals' games today
lordswoodsaints replied to InvictaSaint's topic in The Saints
imo we need 20 points from 15 games.....cant see it tbh,as i said on another thread we are averaging 0.9 points per which gives us 14 points from 15 games.we will go down unless we can improve on the 0.9 points per game but it will take a drastic turnaround for that to happen and i cannot for the life of me see how or when that will happen with the current setup.sorry to dissapoint you all:-(. -
didnt we have an appeal for worms at the dell a few years ago? i think it was something to do with drainage?,the club asked for everybody to bring worms to the dell and put them on the pitch,i dont think it was a good attendance and they ended up with about 20 worms when they needed 20,000.

it would have been better to play today,we would still probably lose but at least we would lose with good support, the replay is likely to be played on a tuesday night when a lot of the fans who would have gone today will not be able to go on a weekday night. it will definately be good for watford because they have a few injuries at the moment, now they willhave time to get fit.

impossible, you are not allowed to have interests in 2 clubs, robert maxwell tried it with derby and oxford (i think it was those 2 clubs??) years ago and he had to sign one of them over to his son. now if he was to give up the whole wolves thing and try and buy saints then that would be a good rumour but i cant see McCarthy wanting to stay in the championship,he got them up (well not yet) and he will want to prove a few people wrong by trying to keep them in the prem. i would like to believe it but i just cant see this rumour bear any fruit in its current form.

Saints Playing Monday / New Goalkeeper (Dutch?)
lordswoodsaints replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
this is nothing new, saints have had links with the channel islands for years the obvious being the le tiss brothers and le saux. didnt the channel islands used to be a fixture in pre seasons years ago? -

abusing players has been going on for donkeys,in fact my old man was well known for it,one of his 'claim to fames' is that he nearly had a fight with micky channon on the touchline because he was giving him so much stick :-) it was the late 60's/early 70's? and channon was a young lad,he had spent most of the game on his arse and generally played sh1te and was substituted,my old man decided to let him know as he walked past and channon tried to get to him to punch him,my old man tried to get on the touchline and they were both held back and nothing came of it. it didnt do channon any harm and he went on to play for england and have a great career.........it also gave my old man a great story to tell his grand kids:-) fvck em i say, when they take the job on they know what to expect.sometimes things are bad,but most of the time things are great for them.

nineteen canteen A phrase which recognises that something or someone has been around forever and effectively gives off that point without being too descriptive and yet retaining an air of cool about the person delivering the comment That guy is as old as the hills, he's been drinking round here since Nineteen Canteen. im on to you NC it will only be a matter of time.

Saints suffering but is there an alternative to Lowe
lordswoodsaints replied to NickG's topic in The Saints
a bit of head hunting wouldnt do any harm, there is always an alternative.......i dont know what or who that is.the shareholders havnt given us the best oppurtunity to survive in this league, they think they are giving us the best oppurtunity to survive administration to protect their investments. -
they should be able to take the abuse in the same way they lap up the applause......if they are sh1t then i will let them know, in the same way i will let them know when they are doing well...they are after all getting paid a lot of money to kick a ball around whilst i have to work my nuts off for a relatively small amount in comparison. if they cant take the abuse then they should get out of the game or do something to improve their game. contrary to popular belief, footballers are not stupid, they know that if they play sh1t the crowd will get restless but they also know that for the majority of the time they will be applauded. after they have finished their 90 minutes 'work' they can always go back to their big mansions, lock themselves away behind their electric gates and count their 'well earned' money.

possible 45 points on offer but i think we will be lucky to get a third of them unless we can string a great run together, very unlikely with what we have available(manager and players)
-
i will be disappionted if he is booed,up until he left he would have got my player of the season vote,he was a class above the rest apart from maybe KD and his departure was a blow. i say applaud him before and after the game but concentrte on supporting he saints during the game.
-
up until the sheff utd game we have been averaging 0.9 points per game so if we continue with that form then we will gain 13.5 or rounded up 14 points giving us 42 points. i cant see us dramatically improving on the 0.9 point per game, even if we could slightly improve it to 1.0 per game it will still only give us 43 points and i dont think this will be enough.
-
it is possible that we could do a 'forest' and turn things around by going on a decent run of form, tyson seems to be scoring goals for fun now, something that perhaps Mcgoldrick could emulate........but his has all happened since they changed their manager,he seems to have given them the confidence to produce, something which wotte will not be able to achieve i fear.
-
you cant really make a comparison between the 2 after wotte has only had 3 games but what i do know is that before he was appointed wotte was a bit of a joke figure amongst the players and wasnt really respected............now they have to look up to him and treat him as the 'gaffer' i dont expect this is going down too well with the players and i suspect wotte has a few axes to grind with a few of them.
-
in our previous 15 games we gained 12 points, if that form continues it means we would end up with about 40 points, would this be enough to survive? i dont think it will. last season leicester who finished 3rd from bottom were relegated with 52 points, bottom team colchester gained 38 points 2006/2007 season southend who finished 3rd from bottom were relegated with 42 points, leeds finished bottom with 36. 2005/2006 season crewe finished 3rd from bottom with 42,brighton finishing bottom with 38 either our form needs to dramatically improve overnight, something which i dont think is possible with the current setup or we will be heading for L1.
-
good player imo. heres the stats 5 games with him........................... won 1 lost 2 drawn 2 conceded 8 previous 5 games without him........... won 0 lost 4 drawn 1 conceded 11 (although one of these was against manu who scored 3)
-
tbh honest i thought we were playing with 10 men against sheff utd as lallana was sh1t.
-
how will you celebrate the next home win
lordswoodsaints replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
i will be to old next time we win.....possibly even dead. -
askham sacked him, although he had done well things started to go wrong, the fans protested in the dell car park and nichol was sacked.
-
indeed,NP has done better than i thought,i wasnt a fan of his when he was here but i have to say in hindsight it probably was a mistake to let him go.at the time of his appointment it was a crucial crossroads in the history of sfc and i thought that his appointment was the wrong decision for the club, but he did keep us up,(just) and he has done a good job at leicester.lets see what he can really do next season.
-
i have been asked to play in the vets league next season so probably wont be going much, unless of course i get a early season injury that rules me out for the season ;-) i expect i will renew my 2 older sons tickets but my younger son might have to make do with the odd game here and there, tbh he will probably enjoy seeing his old man playing again than watching saints. i will probably wait until the end of the season before commiting to anything and i suspect there will be a lot of current season ticket holders doing the same.
